Two Worlds 2 has some of the absolute BEST terrible dialog I've ever heard! At one point, that evil dragon Sorceress from Cinderella (I guess she's a "prophet" now) says in response to a "will this happen" type question "That remains to be undetermined". How did the voice actor let that one slide?

They are losing a sale because I'd rather just buy the one copy and I refuse to buy an extra copy.

Imagine of EB bundled two copies of Halo together and that was the only way you could buy it.

If the two copies of halo cost the standard $60? That would be a great deal.
Frozen Synapse is not two $10 games for $20. It's one $20 game with a free bonus copy. And now it's on sale for $12. BUY IT!

Misunderstood lungfish, perhaps?
:bow at the Psychonauts reference.

Also, I'm probably going to jinx myself here, but I'm currently downloading Crysis and TF2 and the DL speeds seem to be pretty good. Better than the other day.

You're buying one copy (at a totally fair price for the game) and you're getting the second copy for free. It's a device to help spread awareness about the game.

If you aren't happy with the price of owning the game (whether you consider it to be for 1 copy with a free one for a friend, or that price for the 2 copies) then don't buy it and most importantly, stop bitching about it. There's plenty of other games to put money down for.

A few tips if you want the Serious Sam ticket:

1- There's a pool in the first level, There's an enemy next to it but it doesnt appear on easier difficulties.

2- If you don't want to really play at all,
  • Press ~ at the main menu
  • Enter cht_bEnableCheats=1 this enables cheats but disables achievements.
  • Start a new game, you should have every level available. Select OASIS on the easiest difficulty level.
  • When the level starts, save the game
  • Quit the game
  • Press ~ again, and type cht_bEnableCheats=0
  • Restart the game
  • Load your save. This will put you in oasis with the cheats disabled
  • Go around the left side of the lake you start in and pick up the armor pickup
  • The enemy that spawns, lead to the edge of the water
  • When it stops, go around the back of it and push it in
  • Wait until it drowns
  • Enjoy your achievement

Actually they do, you just have to wait around the pool for maybe a minute and they'll spawn and then you can knock him into the pool. I even did it on the lowest difficulty. (Tourist?)

No, the enemy will spawn once you pick up the yellow armor on the left. Works on easy.

Damn, Bit.Trip Runner is hard as shit. Is it worth spending my time on or should move on?

I don't think it's too bad until you get to about half way through world 2. Then things start to crank up.

If you're playing on Normal, try heading down to Easy first. I personally haven't tried normal yet but I assume it's just Easy with the addition of gold bars?

I like Runner so far. The only thing that's stopped me from getting through it all is SpaceChem, which after a slow start, is starting to become a great game :)

Glad so many people like it. It was about time these games got some more attention.

SpaceChem is an amazing game. I like that you can find your own solutions for everything even if they are not the most efficient. That being said, I can really only do one puzzle at a time. My brain finds it hard to switch to a different problem because I sit on the new puzzle thinking if I could make the old one more efficient.

Anyone have Cargo and want to say yes or no on it?

It certainly was an experience, but clear no from me for that price.

Maybe for 2,50 I'd start considering mentioning it in a "hidden gems" section. But its really rough around the edges in gameplay mechanics.

RUSE.. yes or no?

Have you tried the demo?

It's closer to Company of Heroes than Command and Conquer. I like it and the graphics are awesome if your system can take it. The fact that you can zoom out and play as a board game is great too.

Seeing everything unroll from the top view is freaking awesome!

:) Hope you do as well. If you like it check back to the normal OT. We will probably organize another tournament for motivation.

Will pick up The Longest Journey bundle and most likely the Syberia bundle. Just waiting to see if they can get a bit cheaper still.

It takes a long time to wade through other games not listed in the front page to see what their sales prices are.

God I love PC gaming.

For the price of a psn game I have picked up like Darksiders, Trine, Torchlight, Borderlands GOTY Edition and Frozen Synapse.

Definitive proof that getting high leads to intelligent decisions.

Are the older games still playable today? Curious. I tried the old Star Wars games and it gave me never ending nausea of the graphics (motion sickness and these games dont fit together) and the level design.

Incredibly playable, just use: http://zdoom.org/News

Use it, love it, preach it.

I had only played through freeware Doom back in the day, but last Summer I zDoomed it up on my netbook during a shitty family reunion and it was splendid. Incredible level design and the mapping method is like crack as it pushes you to explore every nook and cranny.

You guys are making me want to buy the Doom pack.. I was on the fence and was going to wait until just before it ended to see if it was something I still wanted. Damn all of you.

Right, i'm about to buy Bully. I heard that it doesn't run well on W7 without a patch and has a framerate cap, so can someone please point me in the right direction?

Looking back, I'm a bit sad to see that I missed the first day of deals with BIT.TRIP RUNNER. I'm sure it's worth $5, but I'll wait till the last day to buy it in case it becomes a daily deal again (unlikely).

Has anyone tried playing Alpha Protocol with a Dualshock 3? I'm using Motioninjoy to emulate a 360 pad, and the deadzones are completely screwed up. I can't even complete the lockpicking tutorial it's so bad.

The game was cheap, but so far... Yeah...

Last I checked they patched the memory issue on Bully for Windows 7 on steam. It should run fine now.

Okay, good to know. Thanks.

I've set myself a target of 25 tickets over the whole promotion, I think. It should just about be doable; I'm planning to go for two a day on a weekday (Work followed by WoW leaves me at 11pm without much time to do anything, but I should be able to squeeze out the 'do something with Steam' achievement and one achievement in that time if it's for a game I already own), then I'll blitz until the end.

That said, I haven't priced up all the freebies I'd potentially be interested in. So there's still some scope to aim higher, but even now, 25 feels like a lot. It wasn't helped that the TF2 one took me about six hours... largely because I kept getting distracted by, well, playing TF2.

Last call for impulse buyers and late adopters:

Guys, please for the sake of videogaming, BUY FROZEN SYNAPSE, you get 2 copies for the price
It will be the last game I am (deservedly) annoying you with. It is probably the best new IP this year, and I'll bet it will top a few bigger GOTY lists in the strategy category.

EXCEPT GUYS WITH 6900 series AMD cards, many people with those cards seem to experience issues.

Here is a video that convinced a lot Gaffers, its better in describing than I could:

It's a tactical shooter ala X-Com/Jagged Alliance except that you and your opponent plan your moves at the same time and then they execute simultaneously.

Sort of like a 2 player plan mode from old school Rainbow 6.

I bought this game a week ago, and I've got to say that it's fantastic. It's one of the best releases of the year for me, and it's chock-full of content.

Highly recommended for fans of tactics games like JA2, XCOM, etc.

30% off finally pushed me to pre-order this. Wish I had bought it sooner, it's so deliriously good.

I love how the game encourages you to play at your own pace...and you never find yourself particularly aggravated if the other player is taking too long, because you can just pop open another game while you wait. Or, you can close the client and do something else...and they'll email you when the other player takes their turn.

I had no idea until after I bought this that a Mac client exists too. Truly a pleasant surprise. I do wish the devs would put in an option to bounce the dock icon for alerts though, especially turn update notifications.

ChaoticEko said:

I FINALLY bought this game. Sale was just the icing on the cake. $13 on STEAM (2 copies!) is a steal. I already played the first few missions of the campaign and I can tell that this is the kind of game I was hoping for. I think the coolest thing about this game, is its the first 'simultaneous turn based multiplayer game Ive ever heard of, much less played. And it is a FINE entry into the genre, if there are others.

This game is going to be timeless, i hope. Just like Counterstrike.

Is there any HD mods for Doom I & II ?

Not mods, as such, but completely rewritten ports. Back when I played Doom a lot the big two were ZDoom and JDoom, but there might be more available now.

Oh sweet, looking at the achievements the Red Faction DLC appears to be a full blown singleplayer expansion.

I'm a stickler for staying true to the source material and it doesn't get much better than zDoom. It looks phenomenal in motion and even has terrific pad support.
