Got Frozen Synapse, Bully and Fallout NV DLC from yesterday's deals; wasn't entirely sure on Bully, but for 3.74 it was like "eh, why not".

Kinda weird that I claimed 2 prizes and they don't show on my profile though...

Make sure you have hard drive space. I've noticed that Steam does some weeeeird stuff if it is trying to download stuff but the hard drive fills up.

I have at least 500gb free =/

I'd much rather get it on Steam, or Origin.

You can register the D2D key on Origin. I bought it from D2D a few weeks back (For just over $10) and the key registered fine on Origin.

This sometimes happens to me when I try to download EVERYTHING at once (like 6 games or so) check if maybe your just trying to dl too many things at once and if you really want to do them all at once then pause each download before you start a new one. Hopefully that works for ya.

Since I successfully predicted that Trine would be on sale yesterday... I'm gonna predict that Titan Quest Gold will be on sale today.

Let's see if I'm truly psychic now.

To hell with a backlog. Bought FS and am going to hold the second copy to see if any family members might be interested in it down the road. Watch I won't play it until christmas when it goes on sale again for even less :p

I forgot about that. And I just did it with Crysis 2 last night. Well, I'd much rather wait for DS2 to be $15 or less anyhow.

How fucking big of a game is Aliens v Predator?!

I've left this thing on all morning. It's downloading at 950kb/s or so and it's still only at 39%.

Bought so far
BIT.TRIP.RUNNER
The Longest Journey + Dreamfall
Saira

Will buy if it goes on (significant) sale

Waiting for (significant) sale, but will buy regardless
Cyan Complete Pack (god I feel cheap, waiting)
Bloodlines
Terraria

You better change your priorities to what I just fixed for you or else you are a terrible person. That's what the test results said.

I have to admit, when I saw Trine was on sale I remembered your post and laughed.

Toma, thanks for your post about Frozen Synapse. I kept getting the vague impression this game was like the planning phase of earlier PC Rainbow Six games, and one minute into the video that's been confirmed. Suddenly very interested in this.

Watching the rest of the video now, knowing I've got less than 20 minutes to pull the trigger.

EDIT: Yea that's it. Soundtrack version bought.

The issue could be that the content server Steam trying to connect to is being hammered and as such it can't quite get over the final hurdle of the install process; that is, initialising the download.

Edit: Added quote. :p Didn't realise how old the tab was.

There aren't too many more games I'm looking to get this sale. (unless something surprises me)

Bulletstorm (likely will get a daily)
Wolfenstein (probably WONT get a daily, but I'll still buy it since it hasn't been on sale in over a year if not longer)
Aquaria (will get, but I'm waiting for a daily)
Capsized (might get, will get if daily)
Civ 5 (will get if daily)

Some people got it working by forcing vsync in Catalyst, and also disabling backgrounds or something (play the game, click offline and then settings).

When I realized that some daily deals are region specific I found out that Fable III was on sale.
Their loss, as a statement I'll buy it whenever it's cheaper
(or if they do a recap)
Please don't buy Fable 3. It's fucking awful.

Still hoping for a daily on Jamestown and Zeit2.

Tempted to pick up Alpha Protocol for $5, I have a thing for Obsidian's Noble Failures.

Someone convince me one way or another in the next 15 minutes.

I get so nervous during steam sales. I'm scared I'll get too big of a backlog and most of the games I've bought will go on sale for even cheaper before I have a chance to even play them. The last time I can remember it happening was with The Witcher. I think it went on sale for either $5 or $7 right around the time I actually started to play it. I think I payed around $20 for it during a sale.

It's 75% off now
. Even if it did became a daily deal you wouldn't save more than a dollar.

Hehe.

Steam sales have gotten predictable to the point that Trine almost always comes immediately after Torchlight. And usually Titan Quest Gold comes soon after.

So I went to install Alpha Protocol today and it says that is is only 1110MB. I thought that seemed pretty low and and than when I actually started downloading I noticed is was actually about 11,000MB. Even when I check the properties and disk usage on steam it says it is only 1110MB. Werd glitch. Anybody else notice that?

Yeah, that's happened to me several times. $5 is now my reference point for games I want, but am not able to play just yet. Anything over that and I wait because odds are it'll be cheaper during the next sale.

It is pretty much an inevitability, and very few will ever be able to fight that urge (I definitely can't). I would just give in. Join the Dark Side; we gots huge backlogs, and we love it.

I love these god damn steam sales even though I might not spend as much as some people, but it's like waiting for a mini megaton to happen everyday! Less than 10minutes to go!

And I'm a whore. Picked up the Doom pack with 10 minutes to go. Sigh. I did take on an extra 12 hours of work though over last weekend for this sale, so I guess everything is good...as long as I keep rationalizing it to myself.

Even though it shows 200 games now, I own 80games. Really wish I could get rid of the free ones, and mods, and 30 ones I don't want, and left overs from Indie packs. And make that Sega pack count as one and not 47 >_>

No Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition pre-loading has me bummed. Means I can't play it when it's released in an hour. At least it's only 4.5 gigs though.

But I've been asking for it since the deals started :(

I'm changing my strategy, maybe that way.......

But to change it you would need to refrain from mentioning it at all!
