WHAT?!
Crysis(1) is far more synonymous even if it has a mixed response from people...
The Crysis series isn't exclusive, and on Thursday Crysis itself probably won't be.

It's amazing though, certainly. And I guess it did get an impressive modding community, which is one of the things I think of as PC focused. It's really big budget though, things like Stalker and Metro are more PCish to me.

I'm not saying there is any factual logic being used, just my own personal take. If you disagree, that's cool, there's not need to be upset or frustrated by it.

I don't want to derail the thread with this, it's completely subjective, disagreeing is perfectly expected and acceptable.

I'm not familiar with the game at all, but if a friend and I bought it, would we be able to play through most of the game together?

Not sure if someone already answered your question, but as long as you both create a character in the same area*, you can do basically every quest and mission together.

*Kryta (Prophecies) has the original 6 classes
Cantha (Factions) has the original 6, Assassin, and Ritualist (also the fastest way to get to level 20)
Elona (Nightfall) has the original 6, Dervish, and Paragon (also the most early-game heroes)

I take back what I said earlier. Twenty mintues into the game, and I'm attacking some Stalkers with robbers. For whatever reason, they stop shooting at each other. I wander around for a minute, and then the mission is suddenly canceled.

Then the game crashed.

Amusingly, reloading my save game and shooting everyone provided me with a far more enjoyable experience then actually doing the quest...

I played Call of Pripyat for five minutes when I bought it several months ago.

I walked in to a building, the guy at a door asked me to put away my weapon and I had no clue how, so I was pressing keys until eventually I dropped my weapon and thought "Hey, progress."

Then a dude in the room just walked over to my weapon, picked it up, and walked away.

I followed him to confront him outside and then he shot me. With my weapon.

I should really play more.

Hey, at least quests haven't randomly canceled on you with no explanation as to why.

Yeah that's the problem I was describing. I was only able to fix it by getting the cracked .exe. =\ I have no idea why some of us are having this issue.

I've always had this issue with the STALKER games.

I gotta say, I'm not digging Stalker at all so far. I'm not doing anything but fucking around, throwing bolts at wavy air.

I'll just go ahead with the main quests.

That's...pretty much what you have to do. There's not going to be anything for you to do in the world until you start moving and get more quests.

Stalker 1 sold over two million copies, if Terraria is 'most popular', Stalker is obscenely popular.
After something like two years at what kind of discount? Numbers like that can be pretty meaningless, and the game has virtually zero online presence. If it is a definitive PC experience for you that's great, but obviously it is not a common sentiment.

Furthermore, as a series, how do you think STALKER sold? Probably not well given the lack of numbers and judging its popularity on stuff like Steam/xfire/other tracking sites.

You're the one who brought up sales, not me. I know one entry selling two million units is good though. I can't be bothered to google the others, as it's irrelevant to the point I was making.

Once you start getting artifacts and better weapons, it'll get better. The quests add a lot to the atmosphere. Start exploring.

Monkey Island is a blast to play so far. Also, the switching mechanic makes me excited for the switching mechanic for the Halo 1 remake later this year.

Some notes to new MNC players:

You can set yourself up to win a match rather easily against new players, and I would think this will happen to you in your first few games not knowing what is what, so don't quit out thinking a class is overpowered because they are not.

Assault is beginner friendly, he can do a bit of everything and has medium health, just remember to use the grenade launcher on bots and the rifle on other players (which drops damage over range but it is really strong up close.)

Push your bots, very important, in fact much more important then just playing team deathmatch.

Blow up the enemies turrets where you can, they will tip a battle if left alone.

The (!) icon in the middle of arenas is like a global nuke, use it with $250 when available to wipe out ALL the enemies bots, very important tool.

Going explicitly off what series is the most prolific is kind of silly. The most popular PC exclusive games (Terraria, Leage of Legends, etc.) receive massive amounts of content updates removing the need for sequels. You're essentially creating a very small subset for STALKER and declaring it the winner. It isn't very popular, and it certainly doesn't approach the realms of popularity of stuff like Civilization, Warhammer, Age of Empires, Amnesia/Penumbra, HoMM, Guild Wars, and probably a bunch of other stuff that simply slips my mind.
Here is a nice list of PC exclusives for 2011 alone.

Kinda happy that today's deals weren't special. My wallet gets a well earned day off. ( I already have everything noteworthy)

If you get one going, count me in. Just shoot me a pm.
Well, if two other people are interested in MNC, we should work something out. :lol
I'll be afk for a while, but I'm firehawk12 on the Steams if something comes together.

I need some advice please! If I am interested in about 70% of the games on the THQ collection, would it be cheaper/better to go ahead and buy the pack or just wait/hope for daily deals for the games I want?

One question before I do something stupid and buy Guild Wars.

If I buy the Eye of the North from Newegg, can I use the Steam games also?

Anyone know the answer to this, I'm curious myself.

Bought Beat Hazard.

Holy colors show Batman! I played with effects at 50% and my eyes are sore. You got to be crazy or a robot to play it at 100%.

Seizures aside, very, very fun game and the possibility of using your own music adds a lot of replayability. Gaf suggestion did not disappoint.

50%,100%? You ain't playing it right unless it's at 200%. It's like thousands of fireworks going off in your face, with none of the danger, beautiful.

I've only played alone but it's a lot of fun. It's basically a clone of Crimsonland if you ever played that. It's a little rough around the edges but it's gotten a lot of post-release support to add new content.
does the post release content smooth over the rough edges? Reviews aren't particularly positive.

I haven't gotten anything in this sale that I'm super excited for so far. I picked up Back to the Future: The Game, and bought Vampire: The Masquerade, but nothing like the holiday sale and/or the last summer sale.

Is AI War any good?

CoD4, Stalker, Deus Ex, Beat Hazard, Wings of Prey, Civ 5 and Monkey Island say no.
