twin stick + m/p + perks + fucking outrageous LSD visuals + leaderboards + unique game per music track. No brainer.

So far out of all the stuff I've bought this sale, I'm most pleasantly surprised with THIS game.

It gives you chills it's so awesome.

^^^^ WoP is great, worth it, and plays great with a 360 pad.

Ok, wings of prey looks amazing, what the catch?
Any opinions about it GAF?
Is it difficult?
Does it have a good singleplayer?
Can I play with my 360 controller?

I posted this video from Giant Bomb earlier:

It looks like a pretty competent WW2 sim that's some on the arcade-y side. And according to the Steam manual, yes you can use a gamepad.

I think I might bite. For £3? Sure....

The Beat Hazard DLC makes it into an entirely new, fresh experience. It just feels much mor zen like and engrosses you in the trippy feel much more than previously. I for one am in love with it.
Sounds good, hopefully it'll sink in better this time around.

Actually plugging my controller in this time around for the summer achievement made the gameplay less frustrating as well. It would be nice to have more pick up and play games in my library.

So I bought Hot Pursuit. How the hell do you change the settings? The only options in game are resolution, shadow quality, and high-res textures. The game looks awful so there has to be some way to change things.

Anyone having connection problems with COD4 should disable Steams in-game overlay for that game. I remember there being an issue with it and punkbuster, and I'm not sure it was ever fixed.

I bought Deus Ex yesterday.

It was six dollars and change -- which isn't that big of a deal, as I know the game will be worth the price -- but I'm still a bit disappointed that I didn't have the patience to wait for the Daily Deal.

Oh well.

This is what we call a learning experience.

I got the Beat Hazard ticket playing IAYD - Into Ashes from his Like a Phoenix EP.

Less than a minute into the song two bosses show up, just blast the sides off of both of them and then try to survive without dying. The real issue is that not too long after that something even bigger shows up.

Also, I hadn't thought about until after the fact, but if you're a new player (like I was), you could try playing a few songs first to get some cash an unlock the "More Lives" perk.

Shameless: Now am I lame enough to play the game using my own music? o_O;

The first rule of Steam Sales is you don't buy anything that isn't a daily deal until the final day.

Played the first stalker when it was first released and really enjoyed it despite all the problems and my computer not running it well so couldn't help but buy the bundle.

Having an obscenely small list of games I want to buy this sale (2) means just getting one on sale is great. Worst case scenario I end up spending 14.50 this entire sale.

Then again if something random pops up that grabs my attention, who knows.

Just wait till Bloodlines is like 80% off, twice the broken plates.

Another reason why people should read the OP. :p

I tried to tell my friend this before he bought Transformers!

OMG I fucking suck at Frozen Synapse. I can't even clear the first campaign level.

Why do my dudes have shotguns and the other dudes have assault rifles?

Is Nation Red any good? How about with friends?

Just bought it today but have yet to play it. The Steam forums has a real positive buzz behind it. Apparently the developer is constantly improving on the game.

So Assassins Creed 1 finally downloaded, my god...How am I going to continue to play this series on the 360...

I'm playing on max settings (though for some reason multisampling can't be selected) in 2560x1440 and it looks fucking amazing. Getting between 40-60 FPS. The only issue I have is the frame tearing, I don't want to enable v-sync cause then it locks it at 30fps, maybe I should look into that d3doverrider or whatever everyone talks about, only problem is I'm a PC noob and wouldn't know what to do with it? I have an ATI card if that makes a difference, isn't the d3doverider for Nvidia cards?

I swear there are little touches like the various containers/packs strapped to Altiar's back that move that I didn't notice in the 360 version, really adds to the visual appeal.

I was aware, but thought the rules didn't apply to me. I could have saved $4, which isn't that much money outside of the context of a Steam sale. Within the context of the sale, $4 could be an amazing game.

I actually hope Bloodlines drops to $5 just to let the lesson sink in even more.

Today I'm going to get the two S.T.A.L.K.E.R games I don't own and I'm seriously thinking about getting Civ 5. My hesitance with Civ 5 is: by the time I actually get around to playing it, the game could possibly be available for less than $25.

Looks like yet another twin stick zombie shooter. If there is one formula that ensures I'll never look at your game indie devs, it's this one.

You can download Rivatuner since it comes with D3DOverrider and just uninstall Rivaturner afterwards. That or you can use RadeonPro since it also lets you do vsync+triple buffering along with finer tweaking of things you'd find in the CCC.

Oh god damn, I bought ultra yesterday because I really wanted to try it, bright side is I'm only out $1.25 (better than most of the times I get burned). Well, I'll buy a copy for a friend and pick up the iTunes compatibility for myself just in case.

It works with both ATI and nVidia and all you have to do is having it running in the background, it works with like 95% of games without you having to do a thing.

Is the Guild Wars Trilogy worth it?

I don't like MMO's, but like instanced games like Hellgate, Borderlands, Vindictus, etc.
In my opinion, yes. Haven't played those other two but I'm a big fan of Borderlands if that means anything.

There's a ten hour or something free trial: http://www.guildwars.com/freetrial/

Once you buy it you won't need to download it again, you can just insert the key.

And now it's back to 30.. what a waste. I'll buy it for a fiver! I will not buy it for 30 :p.
It'll probably be back for $5 ($10 for it plus Vietnam) on the last day, it seems to be on sale every other month anymore.

Well, nothing for me again today. Was interested in Guild Wars, but I've got too much of a backlog to consider buying an MMO (though I might bite at Christmas), and I would have gotten Monkey Island if the bundle was $5.

On the bright side, I did finally finish downloading Darksiders, and it runs great on my computer, a 2009 HP Slimline with a Radeon HD 4650. Sure, there's a bit of screen tearing and a few hiccups in framerate, but it confirms my suspicions that my meager computer is basically as powerful as a 360.

Downloaded RadeonPro, but it doesn't seem to be working in Assassins Creed? I've probably set it up wrong because I can't even toggle the fps counter? Should I just get D3doverrider?

First Summer Sale. Do smaller, lesser known titles usually get the benefit of Daily Deals?

Hoping for WORMS RELOADED to drop below $5..

I've experienced one exception to the rule. The Canadian National addon for Railworks was $1.12 on July 2nd and wasn't a daily deal. It's now $2.24. I knew I should have bought it. DAMN!

Entire Railworks franchise was on sale.

RadeonPro is a really good program and you should certainly keep it installed but it's v-sync and triple buffering support is pretty sketchy so I'd get d3doverrider and run it in tandem.

Audiosurf got an update with a summer achievement. Can probably expect it to be on sale sooner or later (it was a given anyways).

So did Poker Night at the Inventory apparently.
