I bought Deus Ex yesterday.


It was six dollars and change -- which isn't that big of a deal, as I know the game will be worth the price -- but I'm still a bit disappointed that I didn't have the patience to wait for the Daily Deal.

Oh well.

Today I'm going to get the two S.T.A.L.K.E.R games I don't own and I'm seriously thinking about getting Civ 5. My hesitance with Civ 5 is: by the time I actually get around to playing it, the game could possibly be available for less than $25.

Well I broke down and bought the Civ Viking DLC (only civ I didn’t have) and Deus Ex.

Deus Ex looks really dated, but everything I read about it sounds great so I kind of have to give it a chance.

I love Steam sales. It isn't so much the few dollar savings (though nice!). The meta game of what's coming up next and getting a few tickets is fun to follow. However, the best part is finding games I would never play otherwise.

They will spawn at certain points in a song, all based on algorithm like all the other enemies. If you don't have Ultra then I think there is only the one BIG ship as a boss? Also I'm not sure if you can do that achievement without Ultra, I seem to remember getting dual bosses or two bosses in quick succession being quite rare in the base game.

However, the information on the game says it doesn't support Vista, so I wanted to ask in here for feedback on the game's performance in W7, which is my OS.

Thinking about getting the Guild Wars trilogy, and Deus Ex.

GW2 beta is coming out eventually. Not sure if I have time to play through the trilogy (with my backlog) before that happens. GW2 also looks far better than the original.

Hm, it'd be nice to have some song to get them to spawn consistently. Anyone know of one? I just encountered one big ship I assume was a boss, but I need two at once? And keep them for 60 seconds? The guy I fought showed up with like fifteen seconds left to the song.

Dev confirmed you can get ticket without Ultra. Though people should buy Ultra anyway as it's awesome.

It's very good. I think it's impact on someone now compared to at the time will be significantly diminished, but I'm sure it'd still be very enjoyable to a new comer, and at this price even if it's not it's worth the gamble.

Based on a Google search it works on Vista and Windows 7 if you update the TAGES driver.

Stalker is the definition of a "Mixed Reviews" game. People either love it or leave it.

I personally didnt enjoy it but I know for a fact that a lot of folks greatly enjoy it. My advice would be to watch some videos and see if its your cup of tea.

So one of the Deus Ex mods screwed up my game. My inventory bar is in the bottom right corner, my augmentation bar is all the way in the top right, and whenever I zoom in I don't get the full zoomed in cursor, just a quarter of it. I think it was the New Vision mod and of course I overwrote stuff. *sigh*

Seriously though, greatest game ever. Realize that yes of course it is extremely dated in graphics, it's 10 years old. The game was never about the graphics though, it's all about the exploration and freedom to do things the way you want to do them.

I have both but have only played CoC so far. It has a learning curve but it's really good once you get into it. You have to play them with the Stalker complete mod though.

The game has so much atmosphere and reminds me alot of Fallout without the rpg elements.

It's not really like that, it's more akin to System Shock 2 if you've played that. It's design doesn't date it so radically because that sub genre hasn't seen the iteration most have.

The difference there is that FPS on consoles were done much better than goldeneye later on, especially this gen.

To this day no one has done Deus Ex's gameplay better (I don't think that many have even tried). Its own sequel couldn't even do it as well. Because games are less complex in gameplay nowadays, a game like Deus Ex stands out even more today.

The only chance we have of seeing it again is the new one coming out going by all the amazingly positive impressions of the leaked build.

Tell him to send a gift to his own email address, and then have him send you the redemption link.

Actually, that's how I do all my gifts now, especially if I'm gifting games to strangers. Instead of friending them beforehand, I simply send the gift to my own email and give them the link.

You just need two of the ships alive with the turrets destroyed for 60 seconds. Just randomly try different songs and you will find one that works.

I did it very easily with Hoodie Ninja by MC Chris on boss mode (normal difficulty).

Its own sequel was restricted by them foolhardily deciding that the Xbox Sku should be the lead. One of the most disappointing sequels I have played. I am hoping that the new one is closer to the original.
