Considering it had a ticket acheivement a few days ago it's a bit doubtful it will go further on sale since that would had been the best moment to do so, with that said you never know. So unless you're dying to play the game or you really want that ticket you might as well wait for the last day.

Nah, Don't care about the ticket and its not like $5 is a lot but, played the demo and man very cool. My cup of tea right there.

Last time I played there were a decent amount of people still playing. The quests and everything outside of a town are all instanced for 4-8 players, however, so you really only need a small amount of people if you want to play with others.

Just bought Wings of Prey after trying out the demo. Just need to get a flight stick now, I guess. After 5 days here's my bounty:

To be fair, when I launch the game, I have two options, the second of which is "Game Configuration." You can change the resolution, and swap the left and right control stick in the configuration menu.

If you've played IL-2 before, it's basically an updated version with much better graphics. You can tune the gameplay all the way from arcade to simulation and also fiddle with individual options. I do remember there before more custom options in IL2 though.

I've only played through the first few RAF missions, pretty standard stuff, WWII etc.

I finally found that by going into the right click menu and there was a game configuration option. It never gave me the option at startup. So I got that fixed and started playing and after having played through two fights the game crashed. And that's the end of Garshap for me, I think. Maybe if some time left at the end I'll try to get the ticket before uninstalling it.

I would say it's completely worth it if you like flight sims and shooting people down in WW2 era aircraft.

I put waaaaaaaay more hours into IL2 than I did in similar games in the genre that looked prettier like Ace Combat or FSX.

A small rant on FSX -- I was totally let down by that game engine's performance. The promise was there, but they didn't optimize anything in that game, what a turd. ugh. Dreams of flying around the world with a photo-realistic Google Earth from the trailer were promptly shattered when my fps took a nosedive as soon as I rendered anything other than a soft blob texture on the map.

How is it broken? I was able to fix the punkbuster/overlay issue and I haven't encountered a single other issue. I quite enjoyed my time with it.

Did you download the latest punkbuster? It auto updates punkbuster for you and checks for updates. I don't know what issues your having.

You need to disable Steam overlay aswell so punkbuster doesn't kick you.

Yes, it was one a couple days ago but got rescheduled to July 6th. The ticket requires you to have a firecracker bomb in your inventory. You just have to login tomorrow and it will unlock if you have the bomb in advance.

The only reason not to buy the series is because you already own it. Best work Telltale has done so far. Episode 2 was the only weak link in the chain for me.

Just checked again and server list populates for me as well. I installed the latest punkbuster when I bought COD from steam back in the last COD sale three or so weeks ago.

I've not had any issues like he describes.

Oddly enough though, when I started up COD tonight it brought up a prompt saying I was on a different computer (I was not) and asked if I would like to auto-configure settings.

Edit: Wow, after an hour of beat hazard my eyes are fubar. Sparkly vision, white of GAF too bright. Everything else too dark.

And seriously? To play a game bought on Steam, it's mandatory that you have to disable a standard steam feature? Fuck that bullshit.

Call of duty 4 and up on PC are complete trash. I have black ops and it stutters every 5 seconds on both of my pcs, no matter the settings. Unplayable.

COD4 plays really well, but i'm not copying this file over every time i want to change servers.

Well you were making broad and vague statements and it works fine for me so it's clearly not a "everyone's effected" issue.

Also, thank punkbuster for never updating shit in regards to the Steam overlay. Valve had to implement that work around.

I've found Call of Pripyat to be a better overall experience. Both have pretty lousy tutorials, however. For the sake of the sale, you might as well play SoC first.

It has some cool moments, but it's not a horror game or anything if that's what you were expecting.

I remember a time when I was supposed to infiltrate a bandit hideout; I approached the base at night, sneaking my way in, and entered an unguarded building. A trail of blood led me upstairs, to a small, dark room. I turned my flashlight on, and discovered four or five maimed corpses. I remember saying some cheesy, action-flick line ("those aren't bullet wounds..."), before hearing the scream of the invisible monster standing right behind me.

So yeah, that's no horror game, but it can be awesomely creepy at times.
