I'm thinking of getting Gothic 3, someone earlier mentioned that it was good and that I should get the "Gothic 3 Enhanced Edition" but there isn't one listed there, instead it's "Gothic 3" and "Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition". It seems that the latter is actually a stand-alone expansion so does this mean I should buy both of these separately?

Note that there's also a Armored Princess + Crossworlds deal today. (If you are like me and know that you'll never play the first game)

Lost Planet 2 (while it improves on the first game, the current "deal" of $20 is not low enough to justify what fun you'll get out of it. Get it if you want more LP and some coop but its still a pretty shallow game)
I don't understand calling LP2 shallow. It's the least shallow TPS I've played in years.

Again, if for some reason you don't know much about Batman: AA, you need to buy this game now.
Its Metroid meets Splinter Cell meets Prince of Persia with the godamed Batman
(aaaaand...some DRM, but I never had a problem with it)

People complaining about Batman's DRM are highly uninformed and ignorant.

Yes, it does have securom, but it actually has a revoking tool (which most games don't). Also, you gain back an activation every month I believe if you lost one. It's basically a non-issue unless you're trying to install it on 5 different computers at the same time.

I tried the Atom Zombie Smasher demo, it's interesting, though I felt like I was totally sucking and not doing things the right way, haha.

How's the full game?

It's great, but there is definitely a bit of a learning curve...you'll want to play your first game on the easiest difficulty.

Everyday shooter is only $2.50. I already own it on PS3 but kind of want to pick it up so I can use the 360 pad with it. Anything I should be concerned about with the PC version?

Well, looks like that's Jamestown, King's Bounty, Killing Floor, and Atom Zombie Smasher for me today.

Brings my total for this sale up to $145.98.

Why do you do this to me, Steam!

Okay friends time for another day of Which deal should I buy?

Buy these games:

Gothic 3 Enhanced (it's 2.50, and the best version. The gold standard of Third Person RPGs)
Killing Floor (like L4D? This will tickle your fancy)
L4D2 (great if you have friends to play with)
King's Bounty (Armored Princess is the best by far, it's The Legend 2.0 so playing The Legend now that AP is out is a waste of time since it's basically the same game but without the improvements of AP)
GTA 4 (there's mods you can use to trim the fat out and improve the game. Don't get it if your computer is old. )
Batman: Arkham Asylum (It's the fucking best batman we've ever had. Combat owns, you feel like the motherfucking BATMAN all the time, you can explore around for goodies and while linear it still feels open. It's the best BUY IT RIGHT NOW!)

Mediocre, pass:
Sims 3 (while the best version of the sims out there, the game hasn't really evolved very far. For most, they're burned out on sims)
Prototype (I would recommend this if it was $8 or so, but not for $15. You get to do a bunch of wonton destruction but the game itself is very flat)
Far Cry 2 (the game simply doesn't have enough variation. for most, they find themselves completing one map and thinking they're near the end only to unlock the second, larger map and go NOPE.AVI)
Lost Planet 2 (while it improves on the first game, the current "deal" of $20 is not low enough to justify what fun you'll get out of it. Get it if you want more LP and some coop but its still a pretty shallow game)
Jamestown (It's a great little "bullet hell" shooter. I think you should get it if you're a fan of these games but I think most will want to pass on this since it's always been a niche genre)
Atom Zombie Smasher (A quirky little game where you try to capture a city from zombies and blow them up and stuff like that. Good if you want to play something during a lunch break or whatever)

Bad, avoid:
Arcania Gothic 4 (A very bad Gothic sequel, totally shames the series. You're better off buying Risen, it's simply a much better Gothic-type game)
Wait, you're actually recommending Forsaken Gods? I skipped that one because everyone hated it. Personally, I would recommend picking up the Gothic Universe Collection, which includes all of the content actually developed by Piranha Bytes, and it's only $5.74.

Man what a terrible idea to put Gothic 4 up on the main page, I almost didn't see that the good Gothics were on sale too.

Seriously, don't buy Gothic 4.

Just get Gothic 2 and 3+Expansion.

Rockstar offers the DLC for twice as much as Complete!
yeah I just noticed that. The standalone game is more than complete ffs. I'm just mad because I already own the standalone and have it installed. Will I have to reinstall GTAIV now? :\

well I have it linked now but no videos found. I get this message.

You are only able to add YouTube videos that are public visibility, allow embedding, and that show up in a username search for your username. If you just now set a video to public in order to link your account, it may take some time for YouTube to index and it to show up in search results.

What the hell does it mean and that show up in a username search for your username?

Every moment you waste is taken from the time you could be downloading it instead.

Everyday I disagree with your lists more and more. No offense, its opinions I know. At least the games in the Bad, avoid category are usually right.

I didn't really have many issues with it, though just the standard gothic 3 on steam is fine too I think. There's mods for it even.

GTA IV Complete + Farcry 2 + Kings Bounty at my shopping basket.

Im tempted to pull the trigger but there's still many days left... Steam is evil.

Oh okay got clarified on the GTA4 modding thing.

The Steam version is incompatible with the current iCEnhancer mod.

But the creator says the new mod is due out next week, July 13th. Should work with the Steam version of GTA4 complete.

I say buy the game now.

Thanks, gonna go with vanilla then
Title has never had any Pay DLC(The skins are only there if you want to support them) and is only second to TF2 with support(Noth official and user).

So if I have gothic 2 gold and gothic 3 from a previous sale (NOT THE 3 EXPANSION), but I didn't like Gothic 2 because it just felt too old, should I pay the $2.50 for the Gothic 3 expansion? I haven't tried 3 yet, but I did enjoy Risen if they're similar.

What bugs me about them is that they seem to be a collection of gaf-type kneejerk glances at games rather than being based on genuine impressions, but I could be totally off base on that. It would certainly be quite impressive if he's played all of the games he's offered opinions on.

So how exactly do you upload a video?
I have a youtube account but show no way of linking the two. (NVM GOT THIS ONE)
I also have no videos nor am aware of how to record in game?
You can link your YouTube acct. with steam now? WHEREE

I use a thing called fraps to record in game - and edit it with vdub.

Whats the difference between The Longest Journey and Dreamfall The Longest Journey?
The first one, The Longest Journey (no Dreamfall in the name) is absolutely incredible.

The second isn't nearly as good.

For those wondering if they should still buy L4D if they have L4D2, I would. I love the first one. Even though 2 is the superior game, I still like the first game way more. I usually just play with the same group of people so I don't know how the community is though.

Alright, I think I'm doing well this sale.

AI War complete pack for 4.49
Atom Zombie Smasher for 2.99

So 7.48 altogether. I might just make it out alive.

The second one is still a great game, with a very interesting storyline.

I think it may be too late because they were on sale yesterday. I picked up Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat for $11.22.

Ok, as my usual noob PC gamer self, I've never played a Gothic game. Is that something I 100% need to rectify? And if so, which of the ones available today is the must-have of the bunch?

Also is the Gothic 3 enhanced edition the full game and expansion or something, or do I need vanilla Gothic 3?

Best platformer on the PC!

Seriously, for $10 it's a massive amount of content.

Risen is a better game to start with, IMO. Hopefully it gets a sale before the end of the Summer sale (likely, I think).

Risen is made by the Gothic team. Gothic 4, on the other hand, wasn't, so it should be avoided.

Yeah I'm curious if as a person who already has the Steam version of Gothic 3 (that I have never played) if I should buy the expansion for it for when I (might) play it one day.

I will say that for me, I did not get into Gothic 2 because the UI and graphics and stuff were just too old.

I'm really tempted to get Arkham, but I'm standing my ground and holding out for Bloodlines daily deal.

Otherwise, not much today for my interests.
I like the home page image, though, hahaha!
