I've never played a King's Bounty game, but they look pretty cool.
I'm a little confused, though. Reading back a little ways, I see people recommending just buying Armored Princess. I also remember seeing someone say that the first game isn't really worth playing because Armored Princess is like the same game or something?
I'm just trying to figure out whether I should just buy/play that, or whether each is worth playing so I should go for the whole platinum set.

I need help deciding. If I were to play L4D or L4D2 but only in single player, which one would you recommend? Are both different enough to warrant buying both?
Well, individually they're $5 and together they're $7.50, so you're really not out all that much more if you get both. If you really only want one or the other, I imagine most would recommend L4D2 for the advances in gameplay it makes over L4D. I still kinda like L4D more, since it has the most/best lore behind it.

Storywise, they're different enough to warrant getting both. Gameplay-wise, it's zombie survival horror either way.

They are slowly porting the L4D1 campaigns over to 2, so if you're only getting one of them, the sequel seems the logical choice.

Jamestown is absolutely worth the $5. Feels very complete, very much like a true passion product. And huge props to the composer, for a lower key release the soundtrack is phenomenal.

i was reading reviews and it seems both are good. i bought the Platinum collection. extra $2.49 for original, sequel and expansion. good deal.

Armored Princess is a stand alone direct sequel to Kings Bounty the Legend. Many of the assets from the first game are reused and most seem to think that Armored Princess is the better game. Crossworlds requires Armored Princess to run and features a remixed version of the Armored Princess campaign and 2 mini campaigns. If you just wanted to play one game I'd just play the Legend or AP with Crossworlds. If you picked up AP and later went for Crossworlds you'd be playing more or less the same campaign.

Shiiitttt, I just bought the Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition thinking it came with the original Gothic 3.

Then I looked it up and apparently it's the worst damn game ever. Shit fucking ballsack.

GTAIV is 15.7 GB and Episodes from Liberty City is 16.6 GB.
I have to gift it to myself since I own IV already. Do I have to start fresh and dl all 32gb, or just add on to what I have?

Ugh passed up on Alpha Protocol because I had a copy coming from the Hut for 3gbp and they cancel it today after the daily deal. Hoping it comes back up on last day

Okay....I'm converted.

I got Lost Planet 2 as a gift and while it's okay in SP it, like RE5, is much better suited to playing with 1-3 other friends. I can see this being a lot of fun.

Though the levels are rather cramped.

I have 319 Steam games, plus many more from D2D, GoG, and other services.

I don't even know how it happened - it just did. Those sales and publisher packs really add up.

I'm also really enjoying Atom Zombie Smasher, although the difficulty seems to have spiked about 10 missions in (doesn't help that all my useful troops/abilities are on vacation).

cant find skyrim, mass effect 3, arkham city, pewp gifted me deus ex hr, and no mw3 or bf3 either

so far i have
- saints row 3
- rage
- metro last light
- dead island
- ssiv arcade edition

And whatever else I remember/gets added before the drawing. My real wishlist is stuff like Poker Night, Recettear, and other stuff I missed the sale on, but by the end of the Summer Sale I'll organize them most expensive to least expensive.

Episodes from Liberty city seems to be a separate download.

I think that the rule is: if you've played Crossworlds then Armored Princess is just the same game slightly improved except that the protagonist wears low-cut tops, so it's not really worth it. If you haven't played either then Armored Princess is the better of the two, so you may as well pick it up.

I had a lot of fun with it personally, the story is largely inconsequential but everything else is fantastic. Start out on easy though, it's a pretty difficult game outside the first island.

So if you've got both, you can pretty much just play Crossworlds and ignore Armored Princess?

As far as launching them from Steam, I mean.

Well you need Armored Princess installed for Crossworlds to work. Crossworlds installs itself like a patch for Armored Princess. When you launch AP you can choose original AP campaign, the mini campaigns, or the remixed one.

Buying Killing Floor and GTA IV today :]

edit: is there any way to play steam games without stopping the steam downloader?

You can alt tab out of the game you're playing and restart it manually.

Has The Witcher gone on sale yet? I think I missed a day or two, and that's the one I'm most interested in.

Is the Defense Grid DLC that you can redeem for tickets any decent? I own the game, but have never played it, and i've already gotten all of the prizes I want.

Holy crap, the Atom Zombie Smasher achievement is tough! With the mods enabled, it's a really fun game. Without them, the difficulty ramps up way too quickly.

Has anyone got the achievement ticket yet?
I was able to get it, but I'm not sure how much advice I can give you. I did it on a level 1 infestation. You'll need some luck, since I think it's practically required to wipe out all zed to have a chance of rescuing 100 survivors. Without some solid offense, you'll have to restart the campaign.

Make sure you keep moving soldiers, snipers, and the beacon around. If you get mines, put them close to where the zed start; I usually place it at the intersection closest to their starting point. If you get snipers, soldiers, and mines, it should be simple. Dynamite is almost as good as mines, just make sure you place them so that the zed will be over all of them at the same time.
