Great day of sales to me today :)

Audiosurf
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Risen
Company of Heroes
Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts

Now, is Tales of Valor any good? The reviews seem a bit lower than the original and the first expansion

About the wonderful end of the world ticket: apparantly you can just beat the last level again to get the achievement without resetting or playing the entire game again.

So my Guardian of Light download got to about 40% then restarted. What a tease.

It didn't actually restart, it just means you're at 0% of what you have left to download of the game.

Risen is an incredible game. Definitely one of my favorite, if not my favorite, game from 2009. It's a very immersive exploration-focused third-person action RPG. The combat will kick your ass at first, but it's a lot like Demon's Souls where you can quickly learn from your mistakes and become very good at it.

The last act is a bit weak, but it's a great RPG that any fan of the genre with a capable PC should experience. Beautiful graphics, too!

I'm kind of overwhelmed by fantasy RPGs now. Would Risen be a waste of money and time if I already have these?

Dragon Age I: Ultimate Edition
Gothic II & III + Forsaken Gods
Neverwinter Nights 2
The Elder Scrolls III & IV
The Witcher 1

Yes.

Play the ones you have first, then get The Witcher 2.

I'm glad to see Whispered World made it's way to the summer sale. I think I'll wait and see if it becomes a daily deal.
Don't count on it, until today it wasn't even discounted.

I'm hoping we get a super Cheap deal on The Last Remnant because I played a little of that on 360 and really enjoyed the battle system. Heard the PC version ironed out a lot of the 'kinks'.

Sanctum looks like it could be some fun co-op. The reviews indicate that there wasn't much content when the game was originally released - has there been more stuff added since then?

PC version looks awesome. Dunno if they ironed out the kinks, 'cause I sure didn't know most of the time what was going on in the battles.

I'm actually somewhat interested by Lost Planet 2 for PC. I played LP2 on my 360 when it came out and I had fun with it, but for whatever reason I never ended up buying it.

Anyone have it/play it often that can comment ? Population of players, lag online, balance in multiplayer, fun,etc ?

How are the Command and Conquer 3/Red Alert 3 games? Which ones are worth getting?

A word of warning to those purchasing Company of Heroes. The patching through Steam is absolutely terrible. Every time there is a new patch, the entire games are downloaded again. Fantastic games otherwise, but just keep that in mind.

Regardless, it beats the tedious patching of a retail copy. I dare you to say that's better than what steam does.

Seriously.

No revoke. See link

Thank you. I guess I need to think it over. I normally don't mind DRM as long as there is a way to revoke or if activations are renewed after so long. Not being able to seems like such a slap in the face.

I still liked Tiberian Sun for the story and the crazy units and whatnot (I had a lot of fun with Firestorm back in the day) but it was easily one of the most disappointing entries in the series.

CNC4 is an abomination though, avoid at all costs if you're a Command and Conquer fan.

There's twice as much content now as there was at release.

how is Red Alert 3's campaign? don't care about mp.

If you have a buddy to play with, playing the campaign in co-op is really good apparently. I have yet to try it though, I don't think I'd have anyone to play it with.

Make it even better than I missed the 7.50 then. Would have jumped on it otherwise.

Opinions on Quake 1 and 2 and how they hold up?

I finished the campaign in coop 3 times, 2 of those on Extreme. It's the best coop third person shooter ever, and it controls fantastically and looks really good on PC. However, I can't comment on the competitive multiplayer or the random online population -- I only played with friends.

Played Quake 1 for the first time a few months ago.

It's friggin great. Better than Doom and Duke Nukem 3D IMO.

$7.50 for all of them is a great deal. You'd be stupid to pass on it.

Hmm ...

I've only bought sets of games once every day during the steam sales. So why am I getting this?

Don't for a second tell me I'm going to miss out on todays deals.
