I just found exploring in NV to be more fun and less crashy than anything in fallout 3 really. I put about 85+ hours into NV whereas I could only stand about 10-20 hours in either FO3 or Oblivion.

I prefer New Vegas by a good bit, it had much better choices and branching paths, better writing, better character building, hardcore mode, better combat, and I liked the faction system since it made it feel like the world would actually react to my actions. Overall, I feel it was a much better roleplaying game that FO3.

FO3 is pretty awesome too, but I'm passing on this sale since I already have New Vegas to replay. (this time on PC!) .

I really hope they do a "best of" day on sunday. I need another shot at getting Darksiders, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and GTA IV Complete. :(

Ok guys, help me out here, it is about COD4.

So i just bought it yesterday for my brother, and let him play it.
He called me on phone 2 hours later that he cant go in an online game at all.

So i came to see what the problem was...so i choose to play online, pick up a server with some players on it, and enter.
Then...it force me to download a mod (i cant cancel it or anything) before i enter(which range from 32mb to 50mb, keep in mind that my max download speed is 400kb).
After the download finishes, the server kicks me out, this happens EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I am at a loss, what should i do?? I don't want to downlad a mod every time i try to enter a game , i just want to play the freaking game normally.

This is what i hate about PC gaming...

---
On another note, I got the Last Remnant! (most expensive game i got on steam lol) but i heard good things about it. :)

There was a daily for Divinity 2 before the sale began. Was $20. I bought it and regret it. Game is ok but wasn't worth $20 imho. Maybe $10.
Ah ha, felt like it was more recent. Thanks, I will probably wait for the holiday sales.

Try a different server...vanilla one that only requires the base game.

I don't know how anyone took the Legion seriously. They were so incredibly silly it mystified me that Obsidian made them the main boogeyman. FNV was also too 'western' themed for my tastes. Hardcore mode was insanely awesome though, I will give it that.

I want to buy Amnesia so badly, but my computer has problems with OpenGL games. I tried the demo and Amnesia was basically a black screen. I tried numerous fixes and advice on their forum, but to no avail.

Anyway I think I'll buy the ME Pack, but I'm kind of hesitant. I think ME2 will eventually be cheaper than 40% off so I kind of want to hold out. What say you GAF?

I'm going to be afk, so just PM me if the group comes together. I'm definitely good to go.

I'm in. How much each?

Divinity 2 is definately worth $20 but I don't have enough money to buy the steam version.

That and the fact that I recall the game being $10 once...

Such a hysterically silly camp of theirs. You can literally snipe it from one end to the other and there is absolutely nothing they can do to fight back. Only Caesar's tent and the building with the
robot army
were even remotely dangerous.

This has definitely been my heaviest day so far. Terraria, SC Conviction, The Last Remnant, and ARMA II.

Good call, I've been hooked on Terraria since buying it earlier in the sale. It doesn't have a story or really any path to follow, it's about exploring and making your own fun and I wouldn't want it any other way. Be sure to sneak into the GAF server before they switch to a new one, they have some nice loot stashed there.

Bought Amnesia today. I only have two games left on my wishlist and it was in the double digits before the Summer Sale hahaha

That is a product of you trying to play an old FPS online where what is left of the fanbase are die hards and modders.

If you were trying to fire up a more widely played FPS that has better developer support (say TF2, which is free) you would have had zero problems.

This is like someone complaining about not being able to get into a game of Chromehounds today on the 360, except that if you're willing to jump through a few hoops you can still actually play CoD4 on PC.

How can i tell if a server is vanilla or not? How can i delete all these mods i downladed?

Sorry for being a bother, but i planned for this to be a gift for my brother that went out and the both of us frustrated lol.

huh. I didn't try that. I powered my way through at point blank range.

...is that ... the Last Starfighter? awesome!

edit:
Caesar's general guy can kiss my ass. My god was he stupid hard to kill for a dude in bronze and leather armor wielding a sword.

Why did you wait on Alpha Protocol until AFTER the previous lower daily deal??

Also, Saints Row 2?...NO. General consensus seems to be that it is horribly buggy and almost unplayable.
I'm waiting for the recap day. I also said I was just thinking about it.

As for SR2, does the Gentlemen mod fix things up?

Need some advice:

Is the Mafia 2 DLC Joe's Adventure any good?
I've read that Jimmy's Vendetta isn't good, but for 1,99€ what do you think?

The other question is: Should I get Mass Effect 1 and 2?
I've never played them but don't know if I should buy them now on Steam or at some point for XBox360. The PC version has better graphics but the 360 version has achievements so I'm a little bit torn appart.

This did not adress the problem i am having.
What i want to know is how i can tell if a server will force me to downlad a mod or not, and why it kicked me out each time i finish dowloading it right before the game starts.

I just want to play, i cant get in a game at all.

Unless there is some insane stuff tomorrow, then I'm finally done. Well unless borderlands sneaks back on the last day. Fuck me what a ride this year .. last year I spend close to 20 dollars on the summer sale .. winter closer to 100 ... this year close to 200.

luckily I think I'm reaching the point where there is little I don't/ want-to own on steam. Next sale will be cake walk!
I said that after the last Christmas Sale, and after the last Summer Sale, and also the Christmas Sale before that. Seriously.

You will be $100-$200 deep again after the coming Christmas Sale. Believe it.

Quick question, Alpha protocol was blocked in my country during the sale (in fact searching for it now, I only find a trailer).

If it does show up on the final day .. how would I go about acquiring it?
(When adding money to your wallet, is your creditcard's billing address checked against the country of purchase? Or can I just use a vpn and buy it?)

I'm done purchasing. I'm over $250 and there is nothing else that I need.
People like you make me feel better when I spend what seems like a small amount in comparison.

Thank you haha.

edit: To the guy above, you can get someone to gift it to you I believe and in turn gift them something or paypal them some money.

Looking at some videos (of the game running on highest settings) and the visuals don't look that much different to what I saw on consoles

It's not a huge difference in texture quality or anything but it is an improvement. The best thing about the PC version is the performance since the 360 version's performance is terrible.

Seriously. I went overboard. Never again, Steam!

But hey, atleast I bought a couple dozen indie titles that I always wanted to support/plus (plus some shit impulse buys that cost a buck).

Finally my prayers are answered - The Last Remnant on sale, Mass Effect 1 + 2 on sale at insanely low prices. Snagged all three!

These along with the other 16 games I've picked up on the summer sale will keep me going for a long, long time. Best part, that's 19 games for just over £60.00 !!

Wow they finally fixed it. It saw my videos finally. So that's another. Think I'll pick up the freebie game with some tickets since I'm starting to build up a nice little batch since my last freebie redemption. lol

I might pick up Last Remnant and Amnesia. I'm too much of a pussy though so I don't even know if I'll be able to play the latter.

If anyone can sell me on whether Mafia II or Total War: Napolean are worth buying, I'm all ears.

PC version of ME is far superior to 360 version, PC version of ME2 is moderately superior to 360 version.

Obviously they are cheaper on the PC as you can have both ME and ME2 for under $15 whereas they will probably run you around $40 for both on the 360.

Whichever system you get the games on, just know that they are some of the best games of this generation.

I picked up Mass Effect, and it keeps giving me General Protection Faults. I checked my specs of my laptop at http://www.systemrequirementslab.com and it told me that my video card wasn't supported.
However, I seem to meet the minimum attributes.

Anyone have any insight? Am I just screwed here? I barely ever PC game, so I don't really know much about this.
