I bought Wings of Prey last sale, never finished it but just picked up the DLC now which might make me want to go back. Still content with owning it for some reason, the crazy ass app that auto runs when you load it up really kills it for me.

Just in case X goes on sale, is it playable for a novice of the genre? Especially with a mouse&keyboard setup (I have a 360 pad too, but no joystick).

Kills it for you? I just ignore it. I creates a popup, but when Steam has launched the game you won´t see it.

I quite like it. I runs really well (perfect framerate with maxed details in 1080 on my CoreI7 with 5830 GPU), has a nice feeling overall, mapped my XBOX360 joypad without any hassle. Seems quite challenging to fly also on realistic or sim settings. It´s nice to have steam achievements also, and the developers released a big patch just last month).

Only do that if you don't plan to play multiplayer. I haven't tried this yet so ymmv.

Didn't buy any of today's deals but a friend gifted me a copy of Frozen Synapse :) All in all I'm pretty happy with my purchases thus far, with maybe the exceptions of AaaaAaaaA and Garshasp. I bought Dawn of War II, Alpha Protocol and every indie title of note that I was aware of and interested in and then some. Getting Frozen Synapse kinda rounds the whole thing off.

It's been an interesting sale for me, I've never really purchased any small-scale dd-only/indie titles before this and now there's a bunch of developers whose future games I will buy day one. I can't even be upset about the games I didn't enjoy because I paid so little for them.

Good thing I wasn't able to do the DoW2 achievement until today. I played Last Stand with a flamer on and got both achievements in one round!

It still irks me that it's running there in the background, watching me. Though the real kicker is that the process doesn't kill itself when you close the game and you have to manually close it every single time if you want to rid it from your systray.

Sweet. The Mount & Blade: Warband ticket just glitched for me. All I did was train some peasants outside of my starting city and it gave it to me.

Game is fucking awesome so far, by the way. Love riding by a bandit and whipping him in the face with my sword. So glad I bought this.

Like I said, I haven't tried it yet, so ymmv. Let me know if it works heh. The only reason I caved and picked up the game during this sale was because of this post.

It unfortunately is my C drive, I haven't backed anything up since Christmas. Looks like I'll have to do it this weekend -_-

What an incredible game. Warband's price/play time ratio is ridiculous.

Make sure to download the superior Diplomacy mod.

I usally just delete stuff i have clocked, games with MP i dont uninstall.

So i normally sit between 360 to 420 gig of hard disk space on my 1TB HD.

Seems it didn't appear for most of EU. I don't see it either. Unless I look for it.

What exactly does that do? I don't want a total conversion mod. Is it like an improvement mod? And will it fuck up achievements?

I googled it but I didn't really gather anything/don't understand what I read.

Depending on where you live random things won't appear. Two offers are missing here almost every other day.

What's even worse when the sale prices are shown in USD but some games are more than double their US price :\ (Mass Effect 2 I'm looking at you).

Aww man, bought Stubbs the Zombie for $2.49 and it won't run on my Win 7 64bit machine :( I remember wanting this game on Xbox.

Edit: Steam please recap the deal for Just Cause 2, I missed the first half of the sale!!

I bought Mass Effect 1 and im having a problem launching it. I click to play and it shows up as a black screen then nothing happens. I alt-tab out and it says "failed to enter entrymenu" or something along those lines." I have no idea what to do.

Yeah it works fine, there's a third file, unins000.exe, that doesn't need the edit.

Man your pc must CRAWL.

Any time I go a bit under 15 percent ish HDD space left , I have to make a bunch of room because windows totally shits itself at that point and performance tanks hard.

Guys, i'm having trouble launching Universe Sandbox.

The window pops up and it keeps playing the Windows 'notification' sound and nothing is happening. I've tried repairing the .Net framework stuff and reinstalled directX too.

Getting fucking frustrated. :(

That's good news. The horrible DRM it had, now removed, and the client/publisher being a Russian company, and the horrid customer service on their forums made me wary with a client.

I'm actually curious about that. I uninstalled some games yesterday because I thought I was getting close. I have 931gig HD serperated into two partitions. C: Drive is 195 gigs for Windows and the occasional odds and ends, 160 gigs free. D: Drive 736 gigs and is the program drive. I was down to 120ish gigs on that part.

Is that 15ish percent free suggestion for the entire drive or on each partition?

If you don't have WA or WWP, buy it - it's 2D Worms game so that alone makes it a fun game.
If you have WA or WWP, ignore it; those games are better by all account.

First sales are the worst definitely. This time I spent much much much less than previous times. Of course due to the fact that I have a fuckton of games in my backlog that I don't have time to play :/

I don't know really.
I use an external HDD and didn't partition my internal 1TB drive (kinda dumb, but what are you gona do).

I've just always noticed that 15 percent is about the treshold where performance suddenly starts nosediving.
Was down to 98GB out of 930 (or however much a 1tB drive is) a few weeks ago and it was driving me up the wall.

No fragmentation (windows 7 seems really good at keeping files from fragmenting) and it was so bad (+ the constant search rattle) that I thought my hdd was dying on me.

Did a fault check (no idea what it's called in English:p) , the one that takes forever while booting, and it didn't find anything.
It's much better again now that I freed up some space.
Still sucks compares to after my last format but I guess that's to be expected if it's been 2.5 years.

Been so lucky with HDD's over the years that I barely know anythin about troubleshooting em.
Never had one crap out on me.

Looks like this will be the first day I don't buy anything. Wouldn't mind double-dipping on ME2 to play the PC version but there's no way I'm rebuying the DLC, or play without it.

wat do gaf? Apparently I'm not the only one having that problem but I haven't found an efficient solution yet. Updating my GPU driver is pointless as it's an integrated graphics unit (SiS Mirage 3 or something).

Verifying integrity of game cache, defragmantation of cache files and reinstalling didn't do the trick either.

A little bit offtopic but some help would be nice, can't play TF2 at the moment because of this.

I got a 2gb ram stick from my friend, but when I plug it in after awhile almost all of my games shut down with the message

program name.exe has encountered an error blabla..

Faulty ram?

Nope, I think Steam has IP blocked that sort of stuff. You have to use a VPN or proxy, both which carry their own risks.

Hence why people just get others to gift them the game on Gaf.
