My damages for this sale

Civilization V - 11 via GG
I REALLY want Civ 5 but it is over my budget. I checked all the D2D websites that I know and couldn't find Civ V on discount for anywhere near $11. Can someone please help me find a cheap copy or was it a one time offer? :(

Trade
Traded
extra copy of Frozen Synapse for
Beat Hazard, Beat Hazard - iTunes unlock, Beat Hazard - Ultra
.
I am a Steam noob: what does traded mean? I can swap digital copies with another steam member or what?

Some weird things going on with the Steam store page.

The count down is at 3 hours now for the daily deals, and Terraria got bumped down to 50 percent off from 75. Glad I got in earlier when it was 75 off.

It says 13 hours but the picture they are using sometimes doesn't show up, so it looked like 3.

Same thing has happened to the prize booth section.

Not in general, but sometimes (where clearly noted) you'll get extra copies that you can give away. Like with 4-packs, or some Valve deals where they'll let you trade away extra copies of games you already own. Frozen Synapse always comes bundled with a giftable copy, too.

Oh god.

The damage (so far):

BIT.TRIP RUNNER
Dreamfall + The Longest Journey
SpaceChem
Civilization V (GamersGate)
Magicka and Magicka Vietnam
Final Hours of Portal 2
Assassin's Creed II
Tropico 3 Gold
Flight Control HD
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate
Doom Pack
Singularity
Frozen Synapse
(One Frozen Synapse traded for) Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum
Zen Bound 2
Tiny Bang Story
Lume
Stalker: Call of Pripyat
Beat Hazard Complete
Sanctum
3 Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light DLC packs
Terraria
Prince of Persia Complete
Fallout: New Vegas (Best Buy) + 2 DLC packs

and a gifted copy of KOTOR for my brother.

Total damage so far: $144.23

Still. Even discounting the game I got in trade for Frozen Synapse, all the DLC, and the KOTOR gift, that's still right around 20 games for that price, and that's even counting packs of games (Doom, Prince of Persia, etc) as one per pack. That's ridiculous. You win, Steam. You win.

I'm glad I picked up Dead Space 2, this game is nuts. I almost bought it full price, but I managed to hold out long enough to save $45. Lol EA price drops.

What the fuck @ Terraria price raise. I was waiting 'til tonight to make all my purchases, then they fucking raise it. It's only $2.50 more, but still. Feel bad man.

Any opinions on Drakensang? I see Drakensang, and then The River of Time, and then a sequel to The River of Time. I was just going to get the first one.
Just get River of Time and nothing else. It's the best of that group by far.

So I decided to look at this X superbox thing and it actually looks pretty cool. I'm pretty sure I saw people here saying to just get X3 but can anyone give some impressions? It looks good but I don't really know anything about it even after reading the info page.

This thread on Something Awful was mentioned earlier and convinced me to take a bite on ONLY X3 Terran Conflict.

I think it's pretty bullshit that they raise the prices like that, even if it was a mistake. They have a countdown timer that shows exactly when the sale ends, and then the price goes up anyway. If it's Valve's fault, they should suck up any losses the price drop incurs and keep it at that price. Same with the publisher. If I'm told I have 24 hours to pick a game up at that price, I should have 24 hours.

I was going to buy 2 4-packs on Terraria for my friends tonight. Now, I'm not getting any, so they lose an extra $15 right there.

Though it did save me $7.50 from buying Risen, which apparently has a bullshit three machine activation limit on it with no way to revoke an activation.

I also THINK it's kept Terraria from showing up at all on the best selling list for some reason (probably a software bug). Even at $5 it should be one of the best selling games unless EVERYONE who wanted it already got it, and given some of the games that skyrocket I highly doubt it. I also would kind of like to see it trump DNF, I'm honestly kind of amazed it's taking the top spot.

I was on $48.96 total feeling very restrained, sale successful, but it was too tempting...
:( portal 2 staring at me on the screen, a nice 50% of next to its name. in a moment of weakness i hesistated and next thing i know its on my game list. *sigh* someone convince me its the next coming of jesus so this unemployed australian student can feel better about his spent funds.

There are fewer games worth spending all your monies on than Portal 2.

Holyyy crap. Doing this summer achievement for Defense Grid. The game is freaking awesome :D I feel bad for not touching it ever since I got it in the last winter sale. My only complaint is that I have some type of weird mouse/scrolling lag. Not sure whats up with that.

X3:TC crashes on starting after the config launcher for me in Win7x64 ;_;

Off to the tech support forums on Egosoft's site later tonight :(
Registered on their forums so I could ask about the game crashing on launch. Attempt to make a post in the X3TC Technical Support forums and I'm greeted with "Sorry, but only users granted special access can post topics in this forum." -_-

Guess I won't be playing this game or getting the ticket. :/

That thread has left me more confused, and now intimidated to even boot the game up. Holy shit.
Read the manual, it's great, like one of the old PC game X-Wing manuals, in that I seem to recall there are 2-4 pages of KEYBOARD CONTROLS alone.

more like the most popular games

we'll see

Worms at spot 28 on top selling.
Borderlands 47.

Wings of pray and Alpha not even on the scene :<

"bought in the last 24 hours" stats column for each game would really help draw some prescriptive on these things.

I'm starting to think I'll end up regretting this purchase. New to PC gaming, and I have enough trouble remembering all the controls for getting around quicker in an RTS.

Don't be intimidated. Most of the commands can be issued with a mouse. You also pick them up quite quickly. Soon you'll be macroing like crazy!

Were there ever any fixes for NWN2's stuttery movement? It's fine on my PC, but pretty nasty on the GFs. The camera movement is fine, and certain elements of the game run totally smoothly, but other things are super choppy.

Oh, man. I contacted steam support today, I hope they fix this before the sale ends. I could buy stuff fine on the other sale days, just today its acting weird.

Derrick01 said:
Ok that was the one I was looking at anyway and it looks nice. How in depth of a strategy game is it? Are the space battles big and epic like everyone always wants in a space game?
It's not a strategy game. It's space combat and trading. I can suggest many space RTS and TBS games if you want strategy.

A staff member has replied to your question:

Thank you for contacting Steam Support. Are you attempting to make the purchase through Steam or with a web browser using the storefront webpage? If using Steam, try the following:
If using a PC
-Exit Steam, then go to the location that Steam is installed to. By default this is C:\Program Files\Steam directory (this is the default with a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
-Delete all of the files except for: Steam.exe and the folder \SteamApps\
If using a Mac:
-Exit Steam and go to the folder Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Steam
-Delete all of the files in this folder except for SteamApps.

Restart your computer and test the issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games. If the issue still persists, try using a web browser (Internet Explorer 7 or higher on PC, or Safari if on a Mac) to make the purchase using http://store.steampowered.com/

If it still fails, try logging into your Steam account and making the purchase directly through the Store interface. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.
For what it's worth. I got the error yesterday, filed a support ticket, waited several hours, got bored, did this, stopped getting the error. I don't know why it works.

Sorry. I should disclose I'm not gifting them for free, however I did get the 4-pack at 75% off.

PM if you want to pay $2.23 USD. I'll respond in about an hour.

Yeah, X3 seems like it's a little intimidating. I won't know for a while though since I don't plan on getting into it until I get a ton of these games I've got played some. I'm not even sure if I'll like it. I just always wanted to try (and get into) one of those "do a whole bunch of trading/killing/moneymaking in space at your own pace" games.

There must be some new portal 2 owners out there. If anyone is interested in Co-Op add me because I havent finished it and I've had the game since launch. My roommate didnt have time to play through it before he left on his summer trip.

I have a mic.
