Fuck. I got 9 KF circus achievements + 1 one of the "clear abusement park" achievements, how come Foster Steampunk won't unlock yet?

Guys I'm trying to start Assassin's Creed II and I am welcomed by this damn Ubisoft Game launcher asking me to create an account and when I try to login it says no internet connection detected. Wtf. Why can't we just play it through Steam. First GFWL and now this shit. Is there anyway to fix the error.

Man, Alpha Protocol is taking foreveeeer to install. Is it because of the strain on the Steam servers? Earlier in the day it wasn't even possible to install because of busy servers.

And man, I really wish I had a wired 360 controller (and money) for The Last Remnant.

i think you need 10 circus achievements, the achievement is 10 circus plus 1 map completion

It's a space sim like X-wing vs Tie Fighter or Wing Commander not a strategy game.
Do NOT let that deceive you though, unless I'm just totally off-base. X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter is like, high speed space combat first-person fly through hoops and shoot lasers. X3 is like, spend 10 minutes flying your huge space freighter into docking lights while trying to figure out how to target some tiny crate somewhere. :p I like X3 but it definitely doesn't seem like a highspeed space combat game.

God...X3 just seems....massive. Total sci fi space nerd here, I don't even know if I'll like it, but I NEED it.

Off to the tech support forums on Egosoft's site later tonight :(
It shouldn't though I have an issue with my saves and mods I had on an older patch being corrupt but I was just fucking around in those ones so it's not a huge loss.

Crashing on startup sounds more like you're missing some files or your computer isn't fully updated.

I'm starting to think I'll end up regretting this purchase. New to PC gaming, and I have enough trouble remembering all the controls for getting around quicker in an RTS.
You get used to it. Don't worry about it.

the only thing keeping me from X3 atm is Rebirth coming out by the end of the year..

oh and money, also money
Rebirth is going to be fucking amazing, but they're taking out the ability to fly capital ships yourselves ;_;

Some people think it's boring but it's my favorite part :(

Well from what I understand there are fighters as well and combat missions so those should be like the highspeed brethren and from what I can tell you can get into big capitol ship to capitol ship fights which should be good too.

What could I be missing? I managed to figure out how to post on the tech support forums (register your key with them) and a couple other people there are having the same issue. No resolution yet :/

$87.77 and 27 games later I don't whether to love or hate Steam. I think I'm done unless Mirror's Edge is on sale tomorrow (probably not?).

Just a heads up for Nvidia users who own Stubbs, drivers 260.89 work. I got the game running nicely. I also added stubbs.exe and OpenALwEAX.exe to the DEP exception list. This should fix the crash you get when you attempt to load the game.

I guess Terraria still isn't doing 1/2 bad, sitting at number 2 now behind only Portal 2. Either they did really well earlier or most people don't care about the price increase like we Gaffers seem to.

I'm looking at one myself. From what I saw the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X would be a good lower end ~30 option whereas the higher end Saitek X52 is a little fancier and at the price of about 80 dollars...and then there's this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002G1YPP2/?tag=neogaf0e-20

AND THEN THERE'S THIS: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00419ZUXS/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Before the steam sale started the game was consistently in the top 5, I highly doubt people are that broken up about the current price. It isn't that old of a game and the content you get is enormous and growing rapidly.

If you're on a dual core I wouldn't bother, it's a pretty bad port. Quad should be fine, though its still gonna be all over the place performance wise.

I find it hilarious that people who just bought a $5 game are looking at flights sticks for it that cost 8x - 20x as much or more. We're awesome.

Unf... my pants. But I will have to stay on the cheap end for now, probably sub$50 since my employment status is... nill. But I also got Wings of Prey, so if both end up being good I'll get a better one down the line.

X3: Reunion - 2.49
X3: Terran Conflict - 4.99
Portal 2 - 24.99
Left 4 Dead Bundle - 7.49
The Deus Ex Collection - 4.99
Torchlight - 2.99
Bioshock 2, Darksiders - 9.98
The Heroes Pack - 4.99
Oblivion Game of the Year Deluxe - 8.50

Total Damage: $71.41

A bit more than I hoped to spend, but I guess I have enough games for a while. :3
Oblivion probably the best of the pack, if only because I have 57 hours on it and finished like, one mission of the main story.
I think I won't give Heroes of Might and Magic V the love it deserves.
Most raw fun will probably come either from Torchlight or one of the L4Ds.
I will procrastinate starting X3 forever, I think I might even let it sitting until I catch up on some Sci-fi series to get in the right mood.
Deus EX there for historical value, hope I like.
Bioshock 2 and Darksiders mainly because they seemed too cheap to pass.

I'm doing the same. That Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X is probably the way to go. Currently on Amazon for 33 dollars and someone was saying earlier in the thread that it is a good quality stick and it has a detachable throttle lever section in addition to the stick. Looks to be a good deal.

Just bear in mind X3:TC is, at it's strongest, a trading empire builder. You might find yourself using the mouse to control everything and using a lot of SETA time compression and autopilot. Just play a little first and see what you think.

Not that having a massive Thrustmaster joystick kicking around is a bad situation.

I'd love it if anyone could give me impressions on this, or other similarly priced sticks. I'm not going to go all-out seeing as I don't even know if I'll get into the game/genre, but it seems like it'd be hard to really enjoy this game with Mouse and Keyboard. If I'm wrong do say so though!

That looks perfect, now to find out how badly I will get bent over finding one in Australia!

Edit: Yeah :(

Oh to only have a clue what any of this means. I hope this game is 1/2 the experience I'm hoping for.

The response I got earlier when I asked about the same stick:
I have the T.Flight Hotas, and it's pretty good for the price.

I actually downgraded from the Saitek x52. While it's nice, I really didn't like the throttle being seperate from the joysick. It's mechanically sound and is a great value if you can find it for less than $70.

The T.Flight Hotas is one unit (two actually, but you connect them together). It's pretty solid, and have no overall complaints. The build is inferior to the Saiteks, but it's a matter of you get what you pay for. That's not to say it's poorly built (I use mine on a regular basis, at least twice a week, for the past year and a half), the Saitek just feels better.

But yea, no complaints. For value, the T.Flight Hotas can't be beat, but if you want something a little better go for the x52.
