Does anyone have a strong opinion either way of Beep?

Many thanks!

This thread is moving so quickly, I didn't see if anyone replied to this, I've never heard of it, but it looks really interesting... a little pricey though to purchase without impressions

Hate to ask, but is today's sales the last ones? Or are we just assuming if there is one tomorrow it's going to be recaps.

we are assuming because the last day is always (so far) a recap of the most popular stuff

Anyone have an opinion on either of two Chessmaster games on steam? Thinking of picking up the Grandmaster edition, but the newer one is cheaper, and well, newer. Grandmaster seems like it has better tutorials though. Bout to pull the trigger, but hoping I could get an opinion or two if anyone has played it.

It's kinda scary pulling the trigger on a large purchase and having Steam just sit there doing nothing for a good minute or so. My purchasing is done I think, unless I find some obscure game while browsing later tonight, or there are new sales tomorrow. No Bulletstorm sale makes me a sad panda, would have purchased at $15.

BEEP is pretty good. Nothing too special, but it's a nice physics based platformer that sadly got overlooked by many. Try out the demo, and while the demo is fairly easy, the game does get a little more difficult later on.

Damn, that Something Awful thread elevated X3: Terran Conflict to insta-buy. Another five dollars over-budget. Oh well. >.>

Thanks to whoever dug that up first, I can't wait to try this.

10,20$
6,80€

Okay since these were the last new deals anyway, I might want to get your attention to a game I wasnt even aware of being on Steam. I LOVED it, and here were my original impressions:

Its definitely worth 10 bucks.

One of the best and truest to the roots adventures when you liked the Sierra Adventures like Kings Quest VIII. Some Puzzles are a bit out of the world but you are definitely in for a treat. Its definitely my favorite adventure by FAR of the recent years. Actually I was thinking about creating an OT when it came out here, but it wasnt out in America yet and I wanted to wait. Well seems I missed that point.
The game is great, has some unbelievably charming characters, smart puzzles (that get hard later on) and a very memorable ending.

The Whispered World is a great, one of the best and definitely the most underrated of the recent adventure games. Highly recommended. The voice of Sadwick is annoying though.

I really liked the Tales of Monkey Island and the Sam and Max games as well, but there werent many other "classical" adventure games on par in my opinion. it really pushes the feeling Sierra was going for.

Oh and its beautiful:

Fair warning, though: The cinematics are not as beautiful as the rest of the game and the voice of the main character might get annoying.

And again: Here is the trailer.

:)

Thinking about this game makes me feel happy. Its also actually the only game me, my girlfriend and my sister played through. My sister hasnt touched any videogame since Diablo 2 and just for the record: Its about 20 hours long.

How do you create a new games category?

Right click a game and pick set category. Then name the category and check it and there you go. That's also how you change it at anytime to another category if you want.

cot damn at the X3 videos

there goes 5 more bucks? I DONT KNOW

Tomorrow I imagine I will be staring at my computer screen with a massive amount of games in my cart screaming "I DON'T KNOW! I DON'T KNOW!". It doesn't help that I'm currently feverish and ever so slightly delusional because of it, especially when I've just woken up.

shiiiiit i got home last night really drunk and saw cheap terraria, and thought i probably shouldn't get my credit card out in this state. stupid stupid

Fortunately(?) for me, I own a lot of the games that have popped up during this sale. So far only:

Bit Trip Runner
Recettear
Garshasp
Hoard
Flight Control HD
Fallout NV DLC
Sanctum
X Superbox
Total Damage = $33.96.

Tomorrow Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines will be mine, whether or not it goes any lower than it is now (which I doubt but hey, always wait til the last day! :D).

ok, so...tomorrow's the last day, yeah? time to finally get vampire and the fallout stuff then.

still debating hitman: blood money for that low low price, and hey, if i get the sam & max collection but already own season 3 on steam, is there any off chance i can gift that season to someone else? kinda doubt it, thought i'd ask anyway.

nah

but you should still get it

Now that the final day is almost here and it's (probably) going to be all recaps, it's time to reflect and consider games that have been overlooked because they've not been a daily deal. For example:

Drakensang: The River of Time is ten dollars and is coincidentally exactly that many times better than Dragon Age 2.

If BTTF is one of the repeat sales, people should buy it. Just beat Episode 1, and it's really good.

it sorta goes downhill after episode 3. more story than puzzles. still good for fans.

I'm thinking about picking it (BTTF) up for the PSN sale because I still have my free PSN+. Is it worse on the PS3 for any reason?

It's an adventure game, of course it's worse with a controller.

I don't think it ever was otherwise tbh (only played 1 and half of 2 so far though), in fact, that's the main complain people have had since the beginning (well, that and saying it was insultingly easy). From what I've played, and definitely from what I've read from other people, you don't play BTTF for the gameplay. Not saying that I agree with all of them, but there are reasons some people hate it a lot.

Disagree, the click and drag is kind of annoying.

to be fair Telltale games have different methods of control these days. You basically move your character around in real time, not clicking where he should go. I guess it works fine on consoles.

I'll probably be spared from the recap tomorrow so here's the damage report:

Recettear - $5
Darksiders - $5
Transformers: War for Cybertron (gift to me) - $0
Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete - $10
Sanctum (2 copies, one for myself and a friend) - ~$5
Terraria - ~$2
Dead Space 2 (gift to friend) - $15

Total - $42

You should get it. $5 for one of the (apparently) deepest and most complex single player games ever. I've seen people call it the single player Eve Online.

Space battles Salsa. Space...battles.

it should work fine. PC allowed you to point and click or use the arrow keys or drag with mouse as optional methods to move your character around. it should work the same as using arrow keys with your analog stick. i'm gonna get on PSN for the trophies.
