I am terrible at it. Can barely make it to wave 12 in the very first level. I'm usually alright at tower defense, but I simply don't "get" Sanctum. It's fun and well presented, but no strategies have clicked with me yet.

Forget that play on easy or in coop.

No Bioshocks meant I had to jump on that DOW2 mistake. Luckily this makes it so I didn't have to add five dollars just to get a dollar in my wallet.

Vampire here I come...and with that...I'm finished.

No Transformers :(.

Its a pity, Ive been playing transformers this week, in the final mission now and it a very fun game and really well done. Only playing singlepalyer, but I had a blast.

Really wanting a sequel, and im not a major transformers fan (though I would like to what some Gen 1 now :lol)

This is the first major Steam sale where I haven't bought anything.

Feels quite strange.
How many of those games that were on sale you own? That's probably the cause. :p

But I did buy more in the Christmas sales than this one for sure.

Grabbed Dawn of War Retribution for $7.50. Why not?

I still need to play through the first two actually, but hey, 75% off.

Exactly my situation

None of the Retribution DLC seems to be discounted, and there's a whole 13 DLCs for it. For anyone who has the game, which, if any, are worth buying? Thanks.

I somehow went down in the EA queue. I was up to #13, now I'm #14 again.

Wow so this thread really will reach 20,000? Have the mods fixed it so we can go above that number? I thought the thread locks itself or something at that point.

edit: I guess I answered that question. First thread in history to go over 20,000.

There's no automatic thing, we just typically lock around 20,000. And that wasn't the case in the past as well; the Smash Bros thread had *checks* 63598 replies before it was closed. This is definitely the first thread in Gaming that's gone above 20k this quickly though.

Play on Easy to learn the mechanics. The gap between easy and medium is massive.

Wow, I didn't buy Retribution and I was hoping it'd be in the recap deals. I never imagined that it would be $7.50. That MUST be a pricing mistake and I feel terrible for everyone who bought it for $15 :*(

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
Now we just need a "I survived Steam Summer Sale |OT| How much did you buy?" thread.

It wasn't, $7.50 is a pricing error, they'll fix it in an hour or so.
I think this is the only time during a steam sale that not buying a game during a daily was the smart move.

Sooo happy about Dawn of War Retribution. I was just talking about it earlier debating about getting it for 22.50 if it didn't show up in the recap. yay!

Nice thread count bras.

If Terraria today had been the same price as Terraria I might've convinced myself to buy it by the end of the day.

Today could be expensive for me with the forgotten games thread plus Retribution and Borderlands Claptrap DLC...

Question: New Vegas, I haven't even started it yet. Do I need the DLC? It's cheap, but has average to meh reviews. Should I just spend the money on indie games instead?

I don't like having to place blocks to place weapons. All weapons use the same blocks anyway, so it adds a needless step to the proceedings. Build block, then build weapon. Why not just have the weapons by thenselves? That's really my only complaint though.

What I don't get is how to stop entire waves from breaking the line. Freeze gun is useful to keep enemies in place, but most turrets are fairly useless until level 3 and above. The default handgun is more effective. I don't understand which to upgrade more: towers or held weapons. It's really the first person perspective that throws me off, I suppose I'm not practiced enough to know how to utilize the new view.

Do I need to play the original 2 Dawn of War games before playing Retribution? is Dawn of War Retribution anything like Starcraft 2?

Retribution is stand-alone, so in terms of that you're ok. DoW 2 is pretty far from Starcraft 2. First one focuses on squad and small armies, and Starcraft 2 is more of a macro game (though some players can do miracles with micro'ing units)

They only share the strategy moniker, DoW 2 has RPG elements and you barely build anything (in DoW 1 you did). The focus is on the combat, not base building.

That is my impression from DoW 2 vanilla, I don't think Retribution is that much different, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
