So The Witcher 2 is today's daily deal and sale ends at 10:00 am pacific time? Will it still be available for $33.49 at the end of the week?

Lead and Gold, of course~! Amassing a stunning 36 purchases, it has cumulated in $54 spent.

36 people are going to be wondering why they spent 1.50.

Glad to see so many people bought Recettear.

After 3(!) hours of combing the thread, I am pleased to announce the current packleaders of the Steam Summer Sale Day 1.

In {-First Place-}, not surprising, is

BIT.TRIP.RUNNER with 64 purchases making a combined total of $160 spent.

Second Place, without further ado is

Recettear! With 47 purchases, it has accumulated a combined total of $235.

Third Place, coming up behind is

Lead and Gold, of course~! Amassing a stunning 36 purchases, it has cumulated in $54 spent.

The rest of the STEAM SUMMER SALE DAY 1 DAILY DEALS PURCHASES, in rank order, follows:

4. Oblivion: GOTY (+ Deluxe): 27 copies
5. Borderlands: GOTY: 22 copies
6. Back to the Future + Medal of Honor (TIE): 18 copies
7. Warhammer: Dawn of War 2: Retribution: 10 copies
8. Witcher 2: 6 copies
9. Blood Bowl + Test Drive Unlimited 2 (TIE): 2 copies
10. Operation Flashpoint: Red River (LOL award): ZERO copies.

There you have it! Any purchases after this I could add, but this is a nice snippet for now.
Wow, awesome :D Indie developers ftw!

Can't believe you actually counted every single purchase though... xD

bit trip beat has amassed 12 purchases. But that one isn't the one listed on the sale page (even though it says franchise sale, most people saw runner and purchased that first, so that is the one that is listed).

That's odd. I would have figured it would have outsold runner given the achievement tied to it.

Sorry for the shameless self-promotion, but to anyone who bought Oblivion, check out my huge mod thread complete with detailed guides and mod tips. Should be a big help to anyone looking to make the most out of the game, and I just updated it yesterday so it's very much complete now!

The Witcher 2 is WAY better than Dragon Age from what I've played. I can't stop playing the Witcher 2. I played Dragon Age for a few hours and cut it off and haven't turned it back on since. I'll have to try to get back into Dragon Age soon after I beat the Witcher 2.

Could anyone who has bought one of the packs (ie Valve Complete, 2k Pack) say whether any of the games are giftable? I'm keen to pick up the Valve one, but I already have Portal 1/2 and would like to give them away if I can.

I'm temtped to just buy the whole telltale pack. I don't get as much time for the longer games at the moment with work, and think the adventure games might be more suited to my time availability at the moment.

I have monkey island, but would like to try puzzle agent and Back to the future

2K pack is a no. Bit of a shame as I already had Civ3, 4 & 5 complete and Borderlands GoTY.

In that case I'd be very interested in Portal 2.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
I hope Settlers 7 will be up during a daily.

1701 A.D. is already an amazing deal too, but I'll wait until the last day to grab it.

So the bit trip games are coming to 3ds? The visuals would give me orgasm in 3d (I'm not even a big fan of the format either).

The main song you 'play' in runner reminds me a lot of the opening of where the streets have no name. Unf unf. Game's still a pain in the ass though. I'm stuck on the last part of level 1.

Ok Lead and Gold seems interesting, but how's the lag? Keep in mind that I don't live in the US nor Europe.

No worries, I really needed that. Thanks <3.

What's the size on Oblivion? I'm more limited on my Windows partition and if it's too large I may just pass and put the money towards new computer/Skyrim.

I can't believe I just bought Civ V. I mean, good price and all, but I didn't even like IV. I went back to III.

It's different than III and IV - you may find you like it more. I prefer the combat and the hex system in V to the other Civ games, though there are some systems from older ones I'd like (e.g. spies.)

Does anyone know why Valve insists on having TF2 beta in my games list, even though I have TF2 already? is there anyway I can remove that?

It comes with TF2, and afaik there's no way of "removing" games, which is a pain sometimes if you care about nice looking lists :/

Beta is used to playtest items for future updates.

You can only get it removed from your list if you contact support.

I might do it later, I don't want to bother them during the summer sale :p

Are these "One Day Only" deals?

The website says
New deals every day
, but does that means that today's deals wont be on tomorrow, or does it mean that today's deals will be on sale plus some new ones for tomorrow?

I'm really strapped for cash, but I am eyeing up those BTTF and Civ V sales.

The 12 or so games listed on the front page will ONLY BE THAT PRICE FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS. After that they will still be discounted, just not as low as they are now.

Daily Deals.

Today's sales aren't on tomorrow.

They might come back in the last day in the recap sale.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
The "daily" sales are more discounted as opposed to the non-daily "summer sale".

So, can Lead and Gold ticket be done in the long tutorial?

The daily sales featured on the front page change everyday, so if it's featured, generally you want to grab it. Usually the last day of the sale will feature the best-selling daily deals instead of new sales though, so if you miss out on something, it may be possible to grab it again, but that will only apply to the more popular titles.

Oblivion is tempting me with its price, but I'm not sold yet.

My main concerns are story and characters. How does it fare?

If you haven't played it yet its a great experience. The main storyline is pretty meh (although it certainly has its high points) but all the sidequests and the expansions are pretty awesome. You can ignore the main storyline and put in a 100 hours easy. I'd pick it up but I already beat most of it on a retail copy back in the day and just can't justify adding another title to my backlog.

I plan to finish Medal of Honor early today and might pick up the Witcher Enhanced Edition if it goes on sale today. I'm not a fan of WRPG so I don't want to spend much on it. If the Witcher manages to hook me into WRPG then I'll consider spending more.

Ha, the game I wanted most this sale is up on the first day! Bought Dawn of War II: Retribution and picked up BIT.TRIP RUNNER just for the hell of it.

Characterization is pretty much non-existent, and the story is crap. The game, like all Elder Scrolls games, is about exploration, but IMO it's horrible without mods. So in short: get it and mod the hell out of it :)
