I'm sure you already know this, but you should definatly get to the Monkey Island series eventually, its the best of the recent Telltale stuff and is worth a playthrough. Sucks that you already owned the best of Telltale, but the other games aren't bad either.
I know, would have been nice to have gifted the extra copy. But Back to the future, Sam and Max and both Puzzle agents (plus a few others) for £30 is pretty good. AND knowing my time available for games, these games make sense in the coming months

This post'll probably get glossed over among the sales stuff but: is there a way of turning automatic update downloads off globally?

Only on a per game basis as far as I know. You can deactivate the cloud saving globally though.

Oooo, I forgot about Puzzle Agent, I can't recommend Puzzle Agent more. Great game.

All I've got to say is fuck Toki Tori. I hate these little casual games that take themselves so seriously. I don't want to think to get the summer achievements, ugh.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

As a counter to that point let me say this, Lead and Gold is a terrible game that isn't worth $1.50.

Of course, opinions and assholes and everything, but I couldn't even enjoy it when it was free those few months ago, poor control and graphics and gameplay and sound all added up to what felt like a complete waste.

But the worth thing I can say about it is that it feels really generic, which is an extremely hard thing to do when you are a Wild West based multiplayer shooter with what SHOULD be an easy to build asthetic to engage people. Instead I felt quite bored. And I love good Wild West games.

Your criticisms sound like they were based off of pictures on the store page. Not saying they are, but they don't really get to the heart of any serious problems.

1) Poor controls? The controls are great. I don't even know how to respond to this. Either using a pad or a keyboard/mouse, it controls fine. Did you try messing with the options at all? This is literally the last thing that I would complain about with this game.

2) Graphics? The game looks great. I love the half-way realistic/stylized look. Are the characters digital Roger Rabbits like in Team Fortress 2? No, but not everything needs to be.

3) Gameplay? It is a team shooter. Certain classes are better than other in certain situations. It is pretty well balanced for having 4 unique classes. Are there enough completely different modes? I could always want more. But for 1.50? There is an embarrassment of modes to play.

4) Sound? I dunno. There isn't a ton, sure. But it feels appropriate. Not everything needs an orchestral soundtrack.

5) Generic? I dunno, depends on the perspective, I guess. If you play a lot of team shooters, then yeah, it doesn't bring a ton of super new stuff to the table. You'd be hard-pressed to find another game like it on PC, though. Far from generic.

Did you play with friends? Any multiplayer game is better with friends.

I understand if the game didn't do it for you and you're entitled to your opinion. I also don't think the game is perfect, but for anyone remotely interested in anything the game is trying to do, 1.50 is a bargain.

It's by no means necessary, and the stuff that happens in The Witcher 1 is only casually referenced in The Witcher 2. And the most important details are introduced in a cut scene at the beginning of the game. At the same time, The Witcher 1 is an amazing WRPG that despite its technical flaws and pacing issues should be played, and you'll certainly better understand what's going on in TW2 if you've played TW1.

Only need expert tournament win on my 360 then I will be a free man again, honest!

Sorry, I'm sure this was asked, but this thread is dense. If I buy one of the publisher packs and I own some of the games, will it let me gift those? Or do they disappear into the ether?

Ether. You can only gift these left overs if its explicitly mentioned in the pack description. For most it isnt possible.

It is. I just got the achievement. It's "Swedish Summer Achievement" where you have to experience rain 20 times in one versus match. lol

How does Toki Tori take itself seriously in any way? It's just a fun little puzzle game.

I love that I could realistically spend $80-$100 and have so many new games (likely over 50) that I wouldn't need to buy anything else until the end of this year.

So don't get it.

Also, it's not a "casual" game. At least not in terms of how (badly) people define casual/hardcore games these days.

Being as I'm at work, I couldn't really elaborate on my problems with it.
1) Poor controls? The controls are great. I don't even know how to respond to this. Either using a pad or a keyboard/mouse, it controls fine. Did you try messing with the options at all? This is literally the last thing that I would complain about with this game.

I repeated found myself curing at the game because my character on screen didn't do what I wanted him to do and what I thought I had done on my keyboard. I didn't mess with any of the settings (because I really wasn't invested enough to) but my complaits about this could be because I have a general bias against 3rd person shooters to begin with. Everything about the third person perspective turns me off with very few exceptions (Gears of War/Dead Rising ect...)

2) Graphics? The game looks great. I love the half-way realistic/stylized look. Are the characters digital Roger Rabbits like in Team Fortress 2? No, but not everything needs to be.

Okay so the Graphics thing may be a bit harsh considering the age of the game and thedeveloper. For what it is, the graphics are okay. The environments aren't exciting (to me) and the people look and move... well, wrong. Also I had to deal with a graphical glitch in which my dude would pick up a gold bag, but the bag would remain on the ground. I'd move around like I had it and the game would recognize a capture with the phantom bag, but it would remain on the ground for me. And yes, if everything could look like TF2 I'd be happy. :lol

3) Gameplay? It is a team shooter. Certain classes are better than other in certain situations. It is pretty well balanced for having 4 unique classes. Are there enough completely different modes? I could always want more. But for 1.50? There is an embarrassment of modes to play.

All of my issues with the game are based on the idea that it was... what, 6.00 dollars during the free weekend? The taste it left in my mouth has convinced me not to spend a single penny on the game, much less 1.50, but there it is. More to the point, the gameplay was limited and boring for me. Again this could be because the third person perspective allowed me to disengage from the action to the point where I just couldn't enjoy anything I was doing. Do I want more class variaty and modes? Ya I do, can you really complain about limited gameplay when it's 1.50? I guess not.

4) Sound? I dunno. There isn't a ton, sure. But it feels appropriate. Not everything needs an orchestral soundtrack.

Dude it's a wild west game! The sound should be something that makes you feel like a damn cowboy or outlaw and it was completely absent. I felt like I was shooting toy guns. It's not a big complaint but it was just part of what I didn't like about the game.

5) Generic? I dunno, depends on the perspective, I guess. If you play a lot of team shooters, then yeah, it doesn't bring a ton of super new stuff to the table. You'd be hard-pressed to find another game like it on PC, though. Far from generic.

To be fair, my point was that it was a Generic Wild West Shooter, which should be hard to do. At the very least it shouldn't feel like a Mod/Skin for TF1.

Did you play with friends? Any multiplayer game is better with friends.

I understand if the game didn't do it for you and you're entitled to your opinion. I also don't think the game is perfect, but for anyone remotely interested in anything the game is trying to do, 1.50 is a bargain.

I didn't play with friends no, but then my friends don't play any squad shooters with me. *FOREVER ALONE*

To anyone else reading, if you've got 1.50 burning a hole in your steam wallet and like Wild West based 3rd person shooters, then by all means give it a try. But I just want to be a counter-point to all the love it gets. I have really tried to enjoy the game and simply can't. To me, and a few other people in this thread, it's not worth 1.50... if it were Free I still wouldn't play it.

Would anyone like to let me know how to get the Retribution summer achievement? As far as I can tell, none of the weapons I can choose from are called a 'flamer' but there are flamethrower-like weapons. Maybe I missed it, however.

How do I tell what's a daily deal and what isn't?

Look in the OP or on the Steam front page. Everything not listed is a deal that will stay until the end of the sale.
