Oh btw, Fallou 1 and 2 weren't on sale yesterday for all I know since I have them on the wishlist. Yet I looked at it today and saw that they're both 50% off. Keep that in mind for the final day :)

I hope these go on sale. I already picked up Silent Hill Homecoming because it is never discounted and this is like, a Greatest Hits price. :D

Silent Hill Homecoming was $10 during the last summer sale. So, uh... bad move.

When it says in the OP to wait for daily deals, it's not some elaborate prank people are trying to pull on you :p

Yes, but waiting six-seven months for the price to drop made my eyes bleed and I just got paid. I have no shame or regret....
because I haven't installed it yet, amirite?

Got Oblivion and The Witcher 2. I played the shit out of Oblivion on console but I want to mod it.

Looking for daily deals on Morrowind, Dragon Age 2, Beyond Good and Evil and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
I've succumbed to three deals already

I am curious, did you already own Bit.Trip.Beat or why didnt you pick that one up? it even got an achievement tied to it. Its strange that 60+ people picked up Runner but only 10+ people Beat in here.

Well,

1) Beat was part of a super-cheap indie pack so a lot probably already have it
2) Runner is the better game
3) Runner is the one actually advertised on the Steam front page.

I hope Civ V goes on sale on daily deals today so I don't have to spend more money on another site (I had already put the money I was planning to spend on my steam wallet) :(

There is no way Steam will have it cheaper then the $11 you can get it for on the UK GamersGate site. You should really just splurge on it, who knows how long it will last.

Well, the GG website knows. It expires in 16 hours and 30 minutes. :p

But yeah, if it isn't on daily today I'm gonna pick it up from the UK site. Which means I'll spend 11 dollars more than I wanted, but oh well, Civ V is the game I wanted the most from the sales, so yay!

LOL Picked up VtMB 2 days before it went on sale...oh well, it's not like $20.00 is a lot anyways.

I'm tempted to pick up Oblivion but I also know deep down that I will probably never play it again...I racked up 200+ hours on the 360 version. Other than that I'd like to get Witcher 2 but I think it's best to wait for a GOTY addition like I did it's prequel. So...nothing for today.

I meant that some people were speculating it was a price mistake on the UK site, it's a bit more discounted then the 66% they advertise. :)

Bit.Trip Runner is fantastic. The music is fantastic. But I'm getting a bad delay in button response. Not sure if it's my controller or the game.
Yeah, I'm getting a weird delay too, and I'm playing with my keyboard.

Never had any problems with the Wii version.

Right, no more buying today. So far:

Borderlands GoTY (I didn't realise I'd be buying the 2K pack)
2K Summer Thingy Pack
Penny Arcade Pack
BIT.TRIP Runner
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus
Musaic Box, and a few gifts here 'n' there.

So, about £70-£75 today. Damn you Steam!

Hm, I wouldnt necessarily say "better". I defeated the first boss a while ago and I really love/hate it. It definitely is a good game and I dont regret buying it. I also wouldnt say its "worse" than Beat, they cant really be compared in terms of gameplay "feeling".

I liked Beat more because I could play it "zoned out" , which is what I prefer in this kind of game. If I dont want to, I dont need to stress myself out too much because it allows for mistakes (even though that comes at the cost of a score multiplier). But to play through Bit.Trip.Runners levels at all is more... "work"?

I like them both for different reasons, but its a bit unfair to put one above the other I'd say.
One thing which IS better in Runner, though, is the fact that you can play in shorter bursts because the levels are split up into smaller pieces, and restarting Beat can be a bit painful if you go for a perfect score and make a mistake at the end of a level.

Different bleeps for different peeps, I'd say.

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
Bought Retribution for the first day. That's about all I really needed.

I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on that id super pack. Let's see how long I can hold out ...

Day one:

Oblivion GotY Deluxe
BIT.TRIP RUNNER
Borderlands GotY
Lead & Gold
Mawesome Pack

$23 down, $27 left.

Thinking of nabbing Zen Bound 2 and the Oddbox, but I'm trying to be good and stick to mostly daily deals.

Trying to be good.

SpaceChem daily deal, c'mon!

Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Definitely need to remember to get The Longest Journey + Dreamfall two pack. That's cheap enough to warrant getting the stream versions.

My purchases so far:

BIT.TRIP.RUNNER
Paradox Fantasy Pack

Really on the fence for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution at $15. I figure I will probably just go with Civ 5 for $18 instead.

I don't know why, but after looking at Smoky Dave's list I decided to pick up Borderlands as well. Damn you!

First Day Haul:

Borderlands: GOTY
MoH - Mostly for the BF3 Beta
Lead & Gold - Regret buying this already.

Let's see what day two brings.

Princess Skittles

Prince's's 'Skittle's
I was tempted on the Bit.Trip games (and the ticket), but I have them on Wii.. and I might get them on 3DS.. and there's only two of the six games on Steam.

If you don't own a Nintendo console though, they are really fun little games.

Retribution is amazing and it's the daily so this is as low as it's going to go at least until the Holiday sale.

I'm on Finnish, getting about 300kb/s now. Thanks for that, maybe somebody else will try Swedish and report which is better :D

It's about 4:52 PM over here so I guess not a lot of people are downloading Steam games :) It'll change in a few hours though.

Having to wait until noon is kind of annoying but I guess at least you get a second chance early on the next day if you missed out so that can be beneficial.

I hope Football Manager goes on sale.. I'll pick it up regardless due to the overall Sega price reduction but if I can get it for $5-$10, that'd be ideal.

I think I am going to skip these deals.

Was considering Medal of Honor only for the Battlefield 3 beta... probably not a good reason to buy a game.

Was considering The Witcher 2 but I really want to get it on GOG.com to support them. I will just pay full price once I am actually ready to play it.

Nothing else too interesting. I am overloaded with indie games.

atomsk

Party Pooper
so far just

Bit.Trip Runner (double dip, and buying again on 3DS)
Puzzle Agent 2 (had already planned on buying at launch)

I managed to convince myself to pass on Borderlands/Oblivion with the "when will I ever actually play these" argument.

This x100.

The Last Stand mode alone is easily worth $15. There is SO much content in the game. The campaign mode is really more ARPG than RTS, the Last Stand mode is horde mode with leveling and a large number of heroes to level, and the adversarial is really good as an RTS. Any one of the three parts is more than enough to get your $15 out of it.

Recettear and Oddworld 1&2 bundle is all I have so far from the sales, taking it easy :)

I am really tempted to buy TDU2 just to drive around in pretty cars but it went up to £7.50 from £5 while I was at work yesterday so that is a turn off already.

Princess Skittles

Prince's's 'Skittle's
Also, there's supposed to be one "free" ticket per day, right?

I'm only seeing like two, maybe three prizes I want (A.R.E.S. for sure, Winter Voices and.. maybe.. Magicka, even though I don't have it yet) so I dunno.

I have Portal 2 but that one is sort of useless.

Anything on there really cool I should pay attention to? Most of these are specific to this promotion, right? A couple of them just seem to be existing DLC.

Honestly, who ever has been recommending this game must be trolling. Maybe it's some big Steam thread joke that I just don't get, but this game is not good at all.

Day 1 for me:
- Lead & Gold
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
- Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion
- Magicka
- Trine

I know I've probably spent more than I needed to by not waiting for the daily deals, but they're all good value for me at the prices I paid so I won't have buyers remorse if any of them drop more.

The reasons Stump gave + this Big One: This is the first time Bit Trip Runner has been on sale. I think the best it's been is 10 percent off for pre-orders. So 75 percent off is going to get major hauls. Bit Trip Beat had already sold people on them wanting it.
