For someone who has never played a Civ game before (other than the 360 title) and just bought Civ 5, how would you recommend delving into the game. I started a quick play on easy, and everything seems so slow, like I barely have anything to do, and units take forever to build, leaving me with less to do. Help?

This thread is going so fast but is there a problem with Hamilton's Great Adventure download? It is not working for me.

You should be scouting out the map more or less, eventually you'll get a feel for when to start expanding, etc. Scouting helps because you'll be able to find better locations for cities, where over civs are, etc.

Yes, it's screwed up. The files are being downloaded into the wrong directory. Go here for instructions on how to fix it.

Which one? I can get it for you :)
For free right? if so the Black Market Aerial Pack DLC or Agency Hovercraft or Monster Truck DLC

Download speeds are slooooow. I think I've been downloading for 2 hours Killing Floor update.
Same here and what pisses me off more is that the downloads get suspended for me.

Used to play civ all the time in high school, especially during Summer. The problem with the game is that it requires way too much time. Sure small maps move faster but the scarce resources don't scale so you end up with an army of infantry. But if you play a large map where it works better, it takes 8+ hours to play a game.

Terrible tonight. Watching router traffic spike between 6mbps and 0k, spending most of the time at 0k =/

Could anyone help me out with The Heroes Pack? I can gift a game of equal value back by Tuesday at the latest.

Long story short - debit card got stolen last week, so been waiting for a replacement. Signed up for paypal today, but it takes 2 to 3 business days to get verified to even send a payment via bank account.

What are the chances of Killing Floor getting a daily? Its already at 9.99, but I'd like it to be, at most, 5 bucks before I buy two copies for me and a buddy of mine.

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map

Pretty much guaranteed to be a daily.

Since we're in a happy gifting mood, somebody can feel free to gift me Civ V from Gamersgate and i'll repay them with eternal friendship and...well, that's probably it! :D It's outside my budget but it would be great to have :p

Could anyone help me get the Shogun 2 DLC? It's clocked in my region.
Is Braid a similar price/available in your region? The DLC is 2.99 here, and Braid 2.49. If you don't mind the slight discrepancy in price we can trade.

Solving puzzles in SpaceChem is so damned satisfying.

I love the fact that it keeps your solution when you go back to it. It makes tweaking it for better completion much easier.

Shit. Any chance some of the sales will be repeated? Forgot to buy a few games yesterday :(

Last day should be best of the daily deals sale. Whether your game gets repeated i do not know.

This alone has inspired me to buy. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

You won't be disappointed. The interface and controls are also very elegant. I can't say a single bad thing about the game at this point.

Well, this sucks. Was about to buy Heroes, and it won't go through because my CC got locked. This happened over the holiday as well, and I should have known better and put money in a wallet! Ugh, eff this.

If you PM me your steam id i'll gift it to you.

Well, I'm getting a little faster download speed when I changed to Japan. I think some servers are just saturated (US servers especially).

Yeah but then if nothing else shows up you want in the near-future I'll just be ridden with guilt and depression.

I'm doing the opposite and making my solutions as stupidly complicated as possible.

It's probably more comparable to an actual model train set than a game. The DLC is just different engines and locales.
