Curious about Railworks, any impressions here at all? Is it a full game, coz god damn there's a lot of DLC...
Think of is as a model railway that takes up less space and much less money...even if you buy all the DLC at full price.

I'm trying to get through this sale with only $50 in my wallet. Day two and the damage so far is:

Just Cause 2: $4.99
Borderlands GOTY: $7.50
BIT.TRIP.RUNNER : $2.50
-----------------------------------

$35.01 remaining.

It'll be interesting to see how much gaming goodness I make out with at the end of this. I'm going to try as hard as I can to not go over my $50 limit. The last sale I went way overboard with micro transactions. This year $50 in my Steam wallet and call it a day. :)

I almost blew it yesterday and bought The Witcher 2, but I still have to complete the first so I managed to convince myself to wait for the holiday sale. :)

I have some questions about the GOG Interplay sale, but it's partially related to a Steam game.

I want to try some flight simulators since joysticks are affordable. Are Wings of Prey, Descent, and Freespace okay for a newbie? Are any of the sequels not worth playing?

Just with those games you have enough to keep you happy for a while

Not only did I pay for TF2 prior to it becoming free, I can't even get past the Valve screen without getting "cannot load library client".

Second game I installed on my new PC and I can't even get it to open, wtf.

It's probably more comparable to an actual model train set than a game. The DLC is just different engines and locales.
Yeah, pretty much. My understanding is that it's a simulator for model train enthusiasts, and that the huge variety of DLC provides an alternative to buying the actual model trains/tracks, which (as you can probably imagine) are much, much more expensive than the prices for Railworks' digital simulations.

Is the problem with Hamilton installing in a different location supposed to be happening to everyone? It installed in it's proper place for me. I was just curious.

hey guys, could somebody please gift me the gta daily deal today? i'll give you something back of equal value. pm if interested, the gta pack isn't in australia for some reason

One thing to note about Railworks 2 is that it has a thriving mod community, so the official content is by no means the only way to expand the game. There's been a large amount of quality locations/trains made by the community.

Just Cause 2 DLC
Hamilton
SpaceChem
Civ 5

to bite or not to bite
the chains of my backlog are upon me

control control, girlfriend isn't going to be happy with the money spentttt

Railworks sucks. It's like the most non fun sim game I have ever played. they purposely prevent you from fucking around. Ugly ass game as well.
judging from the video above it looks boring as hell

My Haul so far:

MoH - $10.50
Lead and Gold - $1.50
Borderlands GOTY - $7.50
Just Cause 2 - $4.99

Not bad for the first two days.

Keep bringing the rain.

So how much fun/gameplay value is vanilla magicka as a single player game?

It's really not that great. The fun of Magicka is the chaos that ensues when a bunch of people are all casting spells with wild friendly fire. Single player is boring and also very difficult (in the last couple levels anyway...damn yettis).

Edit: Although I actually think it is pretty overrated even in multiplayer. It's fun for a few hours, but wears out its welcome long before you get to the end. Me and my friends got bored I think on the second or third last level.

Valve really needs to do something with these servers and download speeds during these sales. I've been downloading DW2:Retribution since 6:30 cst. It continually just stops, server says fuck you, you're not downloading this now. But then I switch to the Russia Central server of all fucking places and I'm downloading at half my max speed, which is better than zero from the closest server to me, which is Chicago. I could literally drive to their data center there and get back home quicker than it would take to download it currently from there.

Eschalon Book I and Eschalon Book II just updated in the registry. They're on sale now. Both 75% off.

ooo, Thanks for pointing that out. I always wanted to check them out but the price was way more than I was willing to pay.

Thats the only reason I ever play sim games... to break them into the ground. Doesn't it just quit you as soon as one thing goes wrong? Thats so dumb.

It's like a flight sim that only has one axis of movement. :o\

I hope Dead Rising 2 goes cheaper than $20.

My take with day 2 buys in the books

Civ5
The Longest Journey + Dreamfall
Shatter
Recettear
BIT TRIP RUNNER
SW Battlefront 2
Vampire the Masquerade

$42 for all that and 35 left in wallet with Snuggler money set aside for helping me with Civilization.

Hey neoism, heard she's in the Hobbit? I bet you've been foaming at the mouth for the last week.

If Saoirse Ronan didn't knock back her role offer I think I would've overdosed on hype.

Bit.Trip.RUNNER does make my eyes strain a little. If everything weren't so blurry in front of Commander Video...Some obstacles mix reaaally well with the background.

That game would be PERFECT for 3DS... I'd imagine. Just seems like it would work insanely well with a subtle 3D effect.

Someone sell me on Star Wars Empire at War Gold. I'm only interested in playing the single player campaign and I'm running windows 7 64-bit.

anyone have that Alien Breed ticket? I've played three co-op games but we didn't make it to the end of the level each time (it's fucking hard) and no ticket. I guess you have to beat three levels? Which is, the whole game? fuck..

I tried it with two different people and we couldn't even make it to the end of the first stage. It's pretty challenging. I gave up on that particular ticket.

I already had Just Cause 2, so I bought all of the DLC. :D

My haul for these two days:
AaAaAA!,
Back to the Future,
Bit.Trip Runner,
Garry's Mod,
and Just Cause 2 DLC.

Relatively light so far. I'm tempted to get DMC4, but at $10 it's hard to justify an impulse purchase.

Decided to cool it on tickets until tomorrow, hopefully they add new prizes, if they don't, I don't see me doing them as furiously as I have been, I got the 3 prizes I wanted (Dwarfs?! DLC, TF2 Shades and Portal 2 item).

With the recent EA shit going down... we'll see. But I wouldn't be suprised if it didn't.
They don't even have a publisher deal in this sale. EA is putting on the big boy pants with that Origin doomed to fail BS

I gotta keep those $11 left I have in check. The only things I want for sure are Terraria and Last Remmant. I hope more summer achievements become available for games I already own. >_>

It's gonna be a tough week. D=
