Steam Summer Sales Thread: remember: you can actually play after buying

I'm so pissed at the moment. Portal 2 is downloading the whole game again and i can't cancel it. It looks like it deleted my local files from my harddrive aswell (only 2 gig of Portal 2 files are there). I told it not to update under update settings and I have being getting under 20 p/s KB ever since Team Fortress 2 went free. I have tried changing my download server to heaps of locations.

Sales are all well and good, but whats the point if you can't play those games for like 20 days or 40 days a year if you include Xmas sales. What the ef is the deal with Steam downloading large chuncks of games? Why haven't they fixed this crap yet?

Alice will be on sale everywhere but Steam for the next few months. This is EA.

Glad I snatched it from Amazon so I don't have to wait for a Steam sale.

That being said, EA should put Dead Space 2 on sale, after that I don't really care what they do.

I don't see it happening. Nothing on the EA catalog is discounted for the sale.

They're such a joke of a company. I'd rather not play their games at all then be forced to buy on their shitty service.

Grabbed Spacechem. Music is good but there's not much variety. Seems like the difficulty spikes from zero to seven on a scale of ten as soon as you start the third planet. Definitely seems worth the five bucks. Probably not for the faint of heart though.

Totally agree. If they don't want to sell me their games on Steam, then I don't want to buy their games.

Didn't EA do the same thing at Christmas? None of there games were discounted normally, but they all came up as daily deals anyway.

I just think no one noticed because Origin wasn't a thing

Aww damn, I didn't know the Just Cause 2 DLC was on sale. All of it is only about $2. It's pretty cool if you like the game though, one of the rocket launchers helped me with a mission I was having trouble on.

Day 1:
Dawn of War Retribution $15
Toki Tori $1.25

Total: $16.25

Day 2:
Hamilton's Great Adventure $5
Dwarfs!? $5
Heroes of M&M V (Pack) $5

Total: $31.25

eh not doing so well, wanted to only spend $100 MAX, and I had my eye on a developer catalog. Hopefully the rest of the deals suck, for my wallets sake of course.

How is Just Cause 2 on PC? Not so concerned about the $5 as the dl, time to install, configure etc.

Installed smoothly, plays like a dream. One of the prettiest games I've ever seen.

It's a pretty fantastic port, you shouldn't have any issues. Download size is a bit over 4GB.

btw, http://www.justcause2mods.com/

we can avoid the Ninja Theory crapfest!

How is Hamilton's Great Adventure? 50% off for a daily deal isn't that great (if it was 66% or 75% I would have bite it without a doubt).

grrrrrrreat!

Fun puzzle game, i played only the first "world" so far but i got it for $10 and its worth more than that

cant beilieve im probably going to resist but i wont buy dark messiah or spacechem

need to save especially since vampire likely wont be a daily and regardless im going to buy it by the end of the sale

How's Alien Breed Impact, kinda tempted to get it because of the ticket. Also, it's been on my wishlist, but I don't recall why.

Anyone play it?
