My friend, you live in 2024, here in LOL one skin for character sells for $500, Blizzard sells mounts in WoW for $90. Here I want to say that they took it fairly by modern standards, considering the fact that they will also have to pay Square Enix money for the license. Although of course I do not justify such prices for costumes, but it’s as if the players themselves drove themselves into such conditions.
Wait what?

No, we didn't know the price until just now when it was announced

I was expecting a new campaign for like $20 or $30 yes

You were expecting an entirely new campaign and extra outfits/cosmetics for just $9.99?
I was expecting something other than mere cosmetics. Like, since the game tries to emulate Automata so hard, something to tie this to the NieR universe. I'm sure the mad genius Yoko Taro could have made it happen. Just a few missions, or just a boss even. As it is, meh.

This game is inspired Automata, they dont take place same universe and it wouldn't make sense.

I mean, and with all due respect - most of what Yoko Taro does doesn't make sense either. Do the execs of SE and Platinum exist in the NieR universe? Yet they were in the DLC. Just something other than cosmetics would have been welcome. As it is, I've played enough dress-up with Eve (which was fun, granted), so this is a pass for me.

Explain....I'm not sure what you mean by that. the way humanity died in Nier/Drakengard universe is different than Stellar Blade.

Sure, but read the next sentence about the Automata DLC, and explain it to me. I think DLC is a perfect way to get a little silly/have some fanservice. Like, fight a Goliath, with arguably better combat mechanics.

If you mean none canon story for fanservie DLC, then yeah sure I wouldn't mind that either.

It’s a combination of not caring enough about this to pay $10, and disappointment that it’s just cosmetics and not an actual crossover with story and missions.
I support, but I just wrote that in modern realities $10 for something like this is a normal price, unfortunately. And as I understand it, they are already planning on working on a new project + sequel, they have no time for this game.
Wait what?
Welcome to the wonderful world of microtransactions in 2024.

A little disappointing that there is no gameplay content but the price seems fine for costumes, especially considering their pricing for skins in NIKKE.
Unlocking the cosmetics require gameplay though. Emil only trade the cosmetics for some new especial cans that are spread through the Wastelands and the Desert maps. 7 cans in one place and 8 cans in another. You get photos for visual reference and then its kind of a treasure hunt to try find all the cans just by looking at the photos.
Each outfit costs 2 cans, the other cosmetics only cost 1 can each.

The new update free costumes are also earned in a similar way, but instead of finding cans you need to find some grafittis. The cans are easier to find though as when you are close you can use the radar to look for them, the grafitti is harder and might require following an internet guide to find some tricky ones.

Technically yes, a scavenger hunt counts as gameplay, but in reality it's just padding in a game like this. I'm sure most people would have preferred a questline of some sort instead of just a scavenger hunt.

But as I said, I'm fine with the pricing. The costumes are great and the Nier music was a pleasant surprise (to me, at least).

All the DLC is just cosmetics?

Not even a battle arena or something with automata robots?

Not interested if it doesn't add any gameplay in form of mission or arena.

🤔
Resident evil 4 Separate Ways says hello.

Guys, I loved Stellar Blade, did a second play through on hard but lets not kid ourselves. 10 bucks for a few cosmetics is pitiful.
They could have at least added a new weapon, a few new skills to unlock, some side quests, bosses etc.

It is just cosmetics, but it is cool costume and items plus it is cheap. Since it is labeled as DLC1, it means more to come. I'm sure they plan to include those you mentioned. Personally, I hope too see new areas, new locales, new enemies, bosses and side story especially of Tachy and Raven.
