The fact that Yellow Diamond wanted the cluster as a "geo-weapon" also sort of implies that Homeworld expects to encounter future threats that aren't the Crystal Gems.
I'm still so proud and excited about this that I just have to share it with GAF...
Attack the Light (the SU game developed by my studio) had a little cameo/reference in tonight's episode:

(the awesome OKKO also got a shout out in that same bg!)
We had no idea this was going to be a thing until we spotted it in an early screening of the ep a few weeks back. Needless to say, there was much celebrating by our team.
It may seem like a little thing, but definitely a big deal and an honor for us![]()
It didn't occur to me until now but why was only earth chosen as a colony for homeworld? What about the other planets in the solar system? The gems don't need an earthlike environment, they can function everywhere including tje vaccum of space so why didn't they turn Mercury, Venus and Mars into colonies? What about the various moons of the gas giants or the asteroids?
Plants need minerals to grow, so if the Kindergartens suck needed minerals out of the earth it would explain why the entire area is dead.I always assumed it's because biological life or life force is a key ingredients to the kindergartening process. I think it's the reason the land is still dead and sterile around the Alpha and Beta kindergartens thousands of years later.
Gems are made out of people!
what says you GAF? Were they or were they not a couple?

Obviously they weren't going to abandon earth as a colony after they spend time and ressources on it just because the crystal gems wanted them to and maybe they couldn't establish several full colonies in our solar system at the same time but wouldn't it have made sense to at least set up secret Kindergartens on Mars for example? That way the crystal gems wouldn't have been able to interfere assuming they didn't have spaceships.
And why not try on another planet after earth was abandoned? There must have been some space travel infrastructure between homeworld and we know there running out of ressources (which doesn't make sense for a species vapable of interstellar travel but let's ignore that).
I assume the geological conditions were better on earth than on mars. mars is almost geologically dead, while the earth is p active
dunno about the other non-gas-giant planets tho
Kind of funny to think about: Isn't it Neptune that literally rains diamonds?
Was always going to be hard matching last week's episode. This was poor though.

Never thought about it that way
They could have been made naturally. Like, whatever goo they inject into the ground was on their original planet, fell into a crevice and naturally formed into the first sentient gem(s). Then those gems learned how to make gems, and eventually learned how to program gems before they're born, and that naturally leads to the heavily stratified gem society we see today.naturally formed, without injectors
ANYWAY, who created the first Gems?
Actually, I've always thought the selection of Earth could be because of it's distance from the sun. And because it's "earth-like". The gems, for whatever reason, already had preferred humanoid forms. They may not need to breath, but they prefer to talk like organic beings using air, they prefer to live in buildings that are similar to what beings like humans construct.
So other planets in the solar system wouldn't be as appealing to them aesthetically. And they might prefer to settle on similar planets elsewhere in the galaxy. They just don't normally care if those planets have existing life, and don't care if they harm it.
As for running out of resources, I've seen a few theories about that. One being that it's a lie by the diamonds, as an excuse to create weaker gems after the rebellion. Also, if theories about the gems being evolved from an organic life form that went artificial are true, gem technology might, at the root, be based around an earthlike conditions required for growing new gems. So any old planet in a solar system might not work.
another problem is that the town people are so static
the gems get some development but even sadie and lars are largely the same people as when we started, except sadie has a scar

Holyshit Onion is in a gang, wtf !?!?
Could of sworn peridot mentioned there's nothing at like the corrupted on home world.See, this is why I'm more interested to learn about corruption. Like, is corruption a natural state of a Gem's life-cycle? Is it something that just happens over time, or does something induce it?
Is it simply a bi-product of a damaged gem not getting repaired?
Perhaps Homeworld isn't seeking new recruits, but constantly replacing old and outdated ones.
I think it'd be kind of cool to learn that Homeworld, or even other colonies, are heavily threatened by corruption.
The fact that it's contagious as it is, is super interesting, and I feel like it could grow to be more of a threat than just a fusion contagion.
Hell, what if a Ruby came back to homeworld corrupted, and Homeworld decided they didn't know how best to handle it, so they literally purged all Rubies.
Onion is a fucking weirdo. Are you really surprised that the kid who causes car crashes for fun and threatened the mayor with a bat engages in criminal activity?

Also, I never really thought about it before, but isn't it weird that Rose Quartz is the most human looking gem? Other gems have strange colors and are generally genderless, but Rose just looks like a super tall, slightly overweight caucasian lady with pink hair. She even has cleavage. 😘
I doubt Rose's form that we're familiar with was her original form.
Also, considering Gems are seemingly capable of changing their forms without getting poofed (note the young gem flashbacks etc), what's stopping Peridot from just giving herself a star?

I think we can assume from things Amethyst and Garnet have said and done that their default forms have don't tax on their energy, while shape shifting does, meaning that they indeed need to be poofed to re-invent themselves a new default form.
They also switched to new outfits in the beach episode, though.
I think we'll see her whenever Steven gets poofed or really needs her.So idle thought here; do we think we'll ever see Rose in the present day?
I'm not sure I've ever seen a show that puts so much emphasis and importance on a character who is already long dead (or at least long gone) by the time the show begins. In a non-genre show it'd be easy to assume that gone means gone forever, but in a show like SU the door is always open for characters to return.
Do we think Rose's story is really over, or might she still have a part to play in the future of the show?
I'm very much undecided. The way they keep building her up makes me wonder if there's a payoff planned, but that could easily be something done via more flashbacks.
What do y'all think?
what says you GAF? Were they or were they not a couple?
I feel like if you ask GAF that question, the answer will always be yes.what says you GAF? Were they or were they not a couple?
I like that this show's filler episodes are willing to give us Steven's kid-friendly perspective on surprisingly mature and complicated issues; rather than just being zany fun. Often leave me with something to think about after watching.I'm going with they were. Because it doesn't really matter either way and I think it's kinda cute. Plus, the whole having a relationship with a dude with depression and it just not working out then getting closure years later thing is totally relateable. But it doesn't really matter what that relationship was; so while I'm going to see it as totally gay it's still a kinda poignant thing even if it was just a friendship.
It is?I don't know if Rose will make a return in the present, but time travel is a thing in this show.

Remember how I mentioned Steven Prime killing himself? There he go
That's such a great gif, and a great episode.
You know, the show never really indicated whether all these super powerful gem artifacts are unique or if they can make more of them on homeworld. I wouldn't be surprised if the hourglass makes a reappearance in the future.Remember how I mentioned Steven Prime killing himself? There he go
And since it was destroyed, time travel is no longer an issue
Temporal shapeshifting, minimal manipulation of their outfit meant less taxing, but in the end it would still be less efficient than their default forms.
That doofy face in the middle kills me.That's such a great gif, and a great episode.

episode sucked
Did you mean 'temporary'? And I agree, whenever they're not in their default forms they're technically shape-shifting their forms to accommodate new looks.
...
Wait, that means Pearl shape-shifted...

And now I'm bailing before I read a spoiler.
They've said on numerous instances that it's on CN if they want a sequel. I believe Grumpyface would jump at the chance of an Attack The Light sequel, especially since they have a proven engine that screams to be expanded on. Limit Breaks! Party Combos! Steven actually being able to join in on battles! The mind boggles.Speaking of, MrCheez, how's that sequel to Attack the Light going? Like, you're totally working on one, yes? Because it seems inconceivable to me that you wouldn't be after AtL turned out so great.
