Nintendo has preserved their IP so far so well...better than most in the Insustry.

Nintendo is smart to not devalue their software. You might not like the practice and are free to vote with your wallet, but it is hardly ridiculous.

I wouldn't say smart, I'd say greedy. Reducing the price of a title years after release is not devaluing their software.

Just looking at Breath of the Wild for example, it's still £45 new in most retailers when I Google it. Some more than £50. For a 7 year old title that is available for half the price used.

Had they offered a reduction in price that meant it was more comparable to the used version, they would sell more new copies than used and make more money cause they ain't making shit on second hand sales.

That wouldn't devalue their software at all. It won't make it any less Game of the Year when it came out and it wouldn't change the experience of it at all.

Not talking about you… But don’t fool yourself, the majority of people download ilegal Roms.
And what if those people were never going to buy the game to begin with? 🤷‍♂️

You can't even say it's a lost sale.

So, even with a crack down on 'illegal" roms, you're still in the same boat. Cracking down isn't going to make people rush out to buy stuff.

Good games sell. It's that simple. It's been this way since gaming started.

What time is it?

You'd be wrong and you are basing your expectations on what a lot of other publishers do. Is the Factorio team greedy because they announced their game will never go on sale? What do you have more confidence in spending $60 at release, a Ubisoft game or a Nintendo game? A lot of publishers are adopting more rigid pricing strategies these days. It's why Steam sales seem less magical as a lot have learned that the race towards the bottom isn't worth it and just repeat the same modest discount points over and over again (Rockstar's back catalog is a good example). Nintendo's titles being some of the most evergreen certainly helps, but them not treating their software like dairy items in the grocery store is smart and does have the knock on effect that resell value of their games also stays high.

Parody of actual AJUMP23
Is this case just switch or is it reaching back to ROMs for the NES SNES and older consoles. I think emulation is great, But companies are always going to try and protect their IP.
