I'm watching Justin Wong now -- of course he's winning every match he plays, but why does the game say he is unranked? Is he still in placements despite all the wins? He has 1546 LP.

Their ranking system always lags behind. Either they turned off the updating, or it's done in timed intervals.

Feel like Im getting really good players by sticking to 5 bars only, at least in the Bay Area

Decided to try some casuals with Ken, and man I suck with Ken. Gonna have to get those hit confirms down, so many random hits not capitalized on.

I'm trying to play my friend but it says his ID doesn't exist, he tried inviting me using mine and it says the same thing for him..anyone else have this issue?

Game is kind of a bust so far for both single player content and networking. I don't feel like I've wasted my money, but I don't quite feel it was worth it, either. Disappointing so far.

As an example of a mainstream early access model, I've had better experiences, and certainly expected better from Street Fighter.

I've had the same issue with only one of my friends. Not quite sure what is going on but i've managed to add everyone else with no issues.

Hard to know whos GOOD right now, top ranks are still Silver league and about 2500 LP points, I fought a Chun Li who was ranked 2000 and Ive never been beated so badly, but shes probably tournament lvel so even at lower ranks you're gonna get wrecked right now.

Got back to 500+, Bronze League and Im calling it a night.

On an actual playthrough Bengus art on story mode is much better than screens made it look. Its definitely a loose style but some poses are quite nice, coloring doesnt help mich though.

Battle Lounge definitely still has issues. Can't join a random room and when I invited someone to my room we were able to start the match and play ... until the thing disconnected us mid way through the second round.

It's really easy to look like you know what you are doing with Karin, unless you're trying to use Kanzuki-Ryu Hokojutsu Seppo. Then you look like you're trying to bait / be a jackass :(

My wins (literally 5-6 whole matches out of 20 or so) have come down to:
1. Landing a Grurren Ken to Critical Art after being punished for using a V - Reversal ( yay for the same inputs!)
2. Executing my critical art as hard as I could after buffering the move from a V - Trigger
3. Simply catching an opening with a critical art
4. My opponent forgets to block and I mixed up a few moves here and there
5. Being on the right side of split second by a hair rock paper scissors move clash... twice

I'm super glad this game has V triggers. Gives me a moment to breath/think.

MOMENTUM IS REAL IN THIS GAME.

By the way - activating Karin's V trigger right after Birdies = possibly broken as hell. He seems completely open to brutal punishment while breathing fire.

Will be calling my ISP first thing in the morning. Those sneaky fuckers. And I should probably go to sleep since it's 4 am.

That was definitely me in soul calibur 5. But yeah I understand. It's pretty tough to play right now though since a lot of the good players are still low ranked and just constantly beating on new people. After maybe a week, the good players will move on and leave low-medium skilled people to fight each other.

I really hope that's the case. Cause at the moment, it feels like If I just started League of Legends and at level 1, it was putting me up against level 30s.

Broke into Super Bronze with Karin before I called it for the night. Looks like Capcom's got the matchmaking in good shape now. They apparently just released a patch that was supposed to fix Battle Lounge, but I haven't tried it yet.

Got three ranked wins as a row with Rashid and the last one came with only my last piece of health left. I think that's enough excitement for one night, but it's cool to see myself getting a hang of the game.

Finally managed to find a good opponent with BL. First round was quite smooth and fun but got DC out of BL when things started to look interesting. Fuck.

Can you set the bgm so you only hear stage bgm, or only hear character bgm? It seems kinda mixed up and I only see main menu music option.

I finally got to play some people. Went to my friend's house. Gameplay is excellent.

You know what is unforgivable? Being booted to the main menu mid-match during a local versus game. W.T.F.

I've just now been able to play two full, lagless matches. Won both, feels good, man.

Survival is bullshit though. I don't really hate playing it, but i really resent that it's the only way to unlock colors. Losing late into a run is infuriating when an unlock is on the line.

Got 2 matches at battle lounge then kicked out and cant get it to work again. Oh well Survival here we go.

Okay...

So maybe I was approaching the game wrong. Maybe I SHOULDN'T have been playing Chun Li.

Like, I decided to play Rashid in survival to get his first color, and then after getting that, I go online and win my first match as him.

Mika has some insane combos I need to dedicate a day to learning them she looks like so much fun. Ill stick with Karin for now you can win just based of footsies her buttons are so good.

From seeing the tools characters have now, Im starting to think sticking with Ryu is a bad idea.

That's absurd. Luckily that didn't happen at all to us last night. You're not even earning XP/FM in VS!

You could manually disconnect before playing local, but it's absurd that you have to. I hope people running tourneys don't forget, DC's can happen any time for a number of reasons.

I'm gonna hop online for the third day in a row, if I don't get any games for the next few hours, I'll wait a week before trying to play this game again.

The game has caught a lot of heat and rightly so. But it's just so damn good to play. Plus when the online works it seems very robust net code wise. I'm going to have to buy the season pass though. No way I can be bothered to save fight money or finish survival over and over or whatever. And Capcom know this. Think my main complaint is the roster being so limited at launch and the lack of challenge mode which to me is the best place to learn new characters
