If there's really no penalty, won't ragequitters like that (with the 10 game winstreak) get more and more points and eventually lose pretty much every game?

Yes. Just making it harder on themselves when they face better and better opposition rather than someone around their own skill.

i feel bad for people who have had network issues but the game's been pretty flawless for me

and man is it good

The game is amazing when it works. Unfortunately I've only had a handful of matches without lag today. Having to disconnect at the start of the match time after time because of lag feels bad, man.

yeah... you can tell who the rage quitters are pretty quick lol. Fought a few guys in silver last night that were fucking ass and sure enough they disconnected before I won. One of them even got a rematch and he rage quit at the versus screen LOL

I want to play, fuck this servers bullshit. This is unacceptable crapcom.

I've gotten matches this morning. Not as fast as I'd like, but it works out well when multitasking.

Looks like servers just died though.

Assuming they come back, anyone want to Battle Lounge / beat me up for 30 minutes or so? Got some time 'fore doctor appointment.

Is this Capcom first time releasing an online game? Was 6 betas not enough? I'm having a lot of trouble trying to make sense of what's goingon here.

Sorry if this has been answered already but does anyone who the artist is?

I've seen them referred to as "KiKi" on Capcom's twitter

I think it's Bengus

edit:Ya it is Bengus He just went with a different style

No, the drawing they were referring to is NOT Bengus. This is a different artist named Kiki:

All the artwork with this different type of style are from Kiki.

I know it has a shitty dpad, but its it feasible to play with a 360 pad? I kinda want to get this for PC but not sure if I want to shell out for a fightstick just yet...

invite me, my psn:Lord_Ahmad1912

I was playing ranked a couple days ago as Rashid, and I beat this Karin player who seemed to be learning the ropes (lucky for me, as I've been away from competitive SF for a while now).

Straight sets, then when I get to the points screen, failed to connect (so no fight money)... the guy noped out. A trophy unlocks at the same time..

"Fighting On The Internet"

That made me LOL, the irony!

Two days later, with a whole bunch of pricks pulling the same shit, its no longer funny. what the hell? I lose and take my L like a man, but I win and I swear 50% of the guys I beat disconnect. Honestly, an arbitrary number means that much to them?

The betas aren't accurate enough when it comes to the amount of people playing the game. Which means you have to kind of under estimate the amount of people day 1 or risk wasting money on servers. So let's say that they expected 1 million day 1 but got 2 million day 1. T servers buckle and they spend the next couple of days fixing them and upgrading them since they now know the exact number of people playing the game. This is all just my own thoughts, but it does explain why most games' servers buckle for about a week. Servers just cost too much to over invest in them

Sure. I used to play on 360 pad before switching to stick years ago. It's just a matter of how comfortable you are with it.

It's not necessarily just the amount of servers though, the netcode could have unforeseen limits in the amount of players it can deal with at once which could explain why matchmaking seems to be fucked at the moment but private fights are okay.

Survival mode question:

On normal, it felt like matches 1-26 were easy, and 27-30 we're difficult.

On hard mode, is it also 1-26 easy, and 27-50 are difficult...? Or is it more like 1-46 easy, 47-50 difficult?

It's their first time releasing an online fighting game with PS4 and PC crossplay, earnable currency, the brand new CFN, and CPT implementation.

People are really trying to trivialize just how much new stuff they're trying to accomplish with this game's online.

It's not just a matter of dragging SF4's online into a new game and calling it a day.

Quick question,

How do you earn fight money in the game? Do you only earn it in Ranked, do you earn anything doing Casual Play?

You earn fight money by completing each single player activity once.

You earn fight money by leveling up characters, i.e spending time playing them so their exp increases. Every level up gets you fight money.

Winning online matches, Ranked or Casual, nets you 50 fight money. Battle Lounges don't apply.

There will be trials and challenges also added in March, and maybe some other stuff which we don't know about.

EDIT:

You have to be connected to the servers when you do the single player acitivty, else you don't get the fight money.

I think you earn it in casual online matches, too (but not in the battle lounge).

You also earn it from completing Story mode, survival modes, leveling up individual characters, and the upcoming "daily challenges" (coming in March).

Make sure you're logged into the server when you try to earn fight money in Survival and Story. If you aren't logged in when you play through those modes, you won't get fight money.
