Just for further clarification, is it the opposite of SF4 set ups? For example if Seth throws out a boom and teleports to your other side, you have to block back where ever Seth is and ignore the fireball. In this you still have to block back in the direction of Nadesico even if Mika crossed over to the other side?

I think that depends on the timing, but it seems that blocking back on mika's side is the way to stop it.

Are you meant to get a title per character on easy survival? Going through just for the sake of it, Ryu, Karin, F.A.N.G and Ken got tittles. Just gone through as Necalli and he didn't get one.

Want to check in case its a server issue.

Pretty sure that title is for getting a character to level 10, which happens if you finish their story and easy survival.
Did you not beat Necalli's story mode yet?

I think you're missing my point. I understand that Fight Money has to be online only to prevent abuse. HOWEVER, the problem lies in the fact that the Fight Money system is tied to every.single.unlock in the game. Not just characters. But Stages, Costumes, their Colors and even Titles. You know what this means?

It means that because Capcom wants you pay Money for the things they're also charging for, it means that every other thing in the game that can also be unlocked is going to be a complete, tiresome chore to get, so you get frustrated enough to the point where you use your Fight Money on them instead of on the stuff that costs money.

That is how mobile P2W design works. They break you down to the point where you either pay or quit.

You unlock the survival colours either offline or online, and in terms of titles and colours I'm sure plenty of people will earn a lot, just by playing the game naturally (without feeling the need to grind). It's unfortunate that people who are offline only won't get to the extra colours, but I don't see how that can be likened to P2W design. Are you even aware of what that acronym means? None of the unlockables factor into whether you win or lose, that's why I say your overreacting.

When it's good, it's really fucking good. But boy when it's bad it can be some of the worst I've seen.

Reading what's going on with the netcode on other sites makes it seem like the netcode is kinda busted for cross-play. But there's an easy fix that Capcom hasn't noticed yet, kinda like USF4's problems on Steam.

Is comboing rope throw with a back dash too good? Because it looks suspiciously too good, and requires like zero execution skill.

I'm at a con over in Indianapolis and the Street Fighter crew in the game room are chill. I was playing on their Twitch stream for awhile without knowing it, haha.

Missed today's tournament, hopefully that have one running tomorrow.

I am really enjoying this game. Fresh characters and systems have everyone back to learning. This is the best part of a game, IMO. Everyone getting together and discovering new combos and the sort. I'm loving it.

Gone through Story with everyone, and now going through easy survival. Checked and he is level 8.

Now I'm not sure the server awarded me EXP and FM for story. Goddamn it this server bullshit is getting out of hand now.

Fuck. I've already gone through story with them all so their minimum level is 4 across the board.

Pissing shit Capcom.

I've gone through easy survival on all the characters and finishing it has given me a title for every character. I am pretty sure you should have gotten one.

Nope. Necalli is level 8 despite doing easy survival and Story. Redid story and watched all custscenes again and it didn't reward me the EXP it should have.

So what, I need to wait until Capcom fix the server so it awards me with the minimal exp and fm I should get?

Better chance of beating Hell survival with F.A.N.G only using my arse cheeks.

You can see Necalli earned FM and colour 3, but no EXP.

I was practicing my awful Gief in casuals. Had no idea his Ex SPD beats out Laura's CA. Won two rounds that I had no right to win cause of that.

P2W is you pay money to get the result/reward you want, either instantly or faster.

If the DLC shop comes online and you can't spend Fight Money on Colors, given how you have to unlock them (Colors for each individual Costume, not all for a specific character) as well as dumbass AI turning into Cheap Shits 90% in makes even less sense than it does now. It's a tedious, tiresome, frustrating chore. It's just bad design to go from one extreme to the other like, on top of disconnecting making you lose all of your progress.

And why would Capcom allow you such an option, to use fight money to unlock Colors? So you don't spend them on Characters. They want you to spend real money on the stuff they're charging for, so the game's design is going to center around trying to get players to break and spend Fight Money on other things first.

That's the first time I've seen P2W defined as that.

You know you can target combo into step kick, V trigger into Srk or his CA!

It's sooooo pretty and fancy looking. Also crush counter from his HP, all sorts of crazy things happen after that if your full on Vtrigger.

I knew you could target combo into shoryu/tatsu but i didnt know it would combo into step kick. Crazy. I have yet to dive into Crush Counters so im clueless on that front.

Man, the commentary on Art's stream is fucking awful right now. I love SF5 but I don't need two dudes ignoring the match and telling me why SF5 is so good. No thanks..

Lol, heaven forbid anyone praise this game.

Meanwhile, the 47th "I hate SF5" Gaf thread will probably appear at any moment now.

Thinking about getting the season pass but if I do can I use the fight money I gather for other things like costumes?

Yes. Or for future characters.

That is not P2W.

That is P2NP or "pay to not play". This is a common business model for games like Assassins Creed, where the game encourages you to pay real money to avoid playing the game as much as possible.

If you don't want to play more SF5, you lose nothing by not having extra colours.

Experience and levels do nothing for you though. This isn't like a RPG where you gain stats upon level up.

"The SFV issues must surely be exaggerated"
*Creates lobby, can't find friends ID, gets kicked from my own lobby*
Oh. Fuck this.

Holy crap, I just faced my first F.A.N.G as Mika and he might be one of the most annoying characters to face. Really crazy dealing with his squirreliness, poison and range.

Man, what the heck? I work through the week. I take care of business. I want to get some online matches in today and I'm getting disconnected, before actually getting into a match, more than anything.

Got 2 ps3 sticks here, anyway to get joytokey to recognize both as their own stick? Or anyway to make x360ce recognise more than 4 controllers slash have more than 4 tabs?

Not the point. Means I have to play as a character I don't like to earn a title I could have gotten doing what I've already done, because it has to ping Capcoms inept servers.

I was aware it wasn't an RPG.

I'm calling it a night. It's really disheartening when your only match results the past few hours are 1) you lost 2) you won but your opponent rage quit after the KO. Seriously, I sunk back into Ultra Bronze but every time I won a match the person just quits.

It's not even like I was demolishing them and they quit. It would come down to the wire, I'd make a good read, and then they'd disconnect before the results screen came up.

Some times creating a new ID on an alternate account on your PS4 makes you're online experience much better (faster load times, better connection).

Of course, you FM doesn't transfer over...but, if you just want to play, it's worth a try.

They are not quitting! The connection is bad and servers are bad.

Its not that. I love SF5

They're just totally ignoring the match talking shit about a guy casting VF who is flaming SF5. I just wanna watch some SF5 with commentary, I don't want to listen to someone's rhetoric while watching a match. I can do that on my own.

Calm down.

I have only had one rage quit (and I am not sure that is what happened), but Capcom has to put a stop to this immediately. The salt is too much for some in fighting games. There needs to be consequences to keep them in check.

I am not liking how every ranked match is now with someone who absolutely destroys me. I went from going between people higher and lower then me to nothing but super bronzes one after another.
