It's taking me 5+ minutes to find a match. I don't understand. I can queue up for LoL at 3 in the morning and find 9 other people to play with in under a minute. Why is this shit so slow.

Getting matches every minute.

It crashes / disconnects every time, but it's quick in between :).

The tournament LI Joe just hosted was SUPER hype. Man, that was awesome. I am actually considering playing with Bison a little...

He is so cool in this game...

This game is so damn phenomenal.

Yeah Bison is hype, but I want to try out Necalli after checking the stream.

Wanted to share this as I've been trying out some reshade effects using PhilGPT's preset. He posted some meaty looking screencaps so I had to find out what he did! So I got it working and posted some in-game videos below. I use a GTX 970, 1080p with max settings and vsync off. If the videos look off, remember your monitor type and settings, also in-game brightness settings will contribute to how the effect and colors appear. It definitely makes the game darker and more 'realistic' looking than cartoonish.

Videos:
Bustling Side Street Stage (Normal)
Bustling Side Street Stage (ReShade)

Four Kings Stage (Normal)
Four Kings Stage (ReShade)*

*There is a weird effect when recording, it looks like the framerate drops and the game lags but this occurs only on the recording side. Not sure why. But as you can see the FPS doesn't dip.

How To:
Download: SFV ReShade Preset (By PhilGPT)
Install: Extract files to \Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV\Binaries\Win64
Unistall: Delete all files that were added (easy!)

Wow, that is really cool. It does kill by fps by 10 though. I need to play around with it.

Oh, I thought I would give some friendly advice for people fighting against R. Mika...

If you are low on life don't jump. Ever. I will send Nadeshiko to crush you in the air. If I don't have trigger, I will be sitting on the EX-Wingless Airplane.

I have won a startling amount of matches doing the above.

Currently, bronze right now. The last few matches I have won recently had lost connection to the server, freakin people constantly rage quitting. It is so annoying....

Take your losses like a man and learn from them. I am getting my ass handed left, right and centre, but I want to become better.

On a side note, this game is beautiful on PC 1440p.

So every time I win I get some error at end of match and get no points. Yet when I lose it never fails to take my points? Happened last 5 wins I had. I'm done with online for now, shit is not good for my emotions.

GGs novum, i'm guessing its the first SF game you played?

I can give you some tips:

- I've never seen you use Ken's insane dp! Use it more.. as an AA, sometimes on wakeup to mix things up when it looks like i'll come and grab or attack, etc. Obviously if you have trouble doing ti then you should practice execution in training mode

- You jump too much

- You had trouble punishing ( ex: I would do a spinning bird kick, you'd block it all and instead of punishing you'd stand there blocking) you could at least sweep to get me down and pressure me ( but tbh its normal, my friend is a newbie and he has trouble punishing my unsafe moves too)

- Sometimes you wouldnt even block my stuff ( ex: i,d use legs then cr.lp, it wouldn't combo but it hit you anyways because you were not holding back)

Just keep practicing and it will all come together

Yeah, most of the time I didn't know how to counter, the jumping thing is a bad habit, maybe I'm just to slow, with inputs no clue, have to practice DP execution. Sorry you were bored I guess, I wasn't even a challenge.
Thank you for the tips, and yeah I'm not that familiar with SF, not the first time but never played fighting games so long so I never got really good.

Question for you pro-status GAFers

Should I wait for my stick to arrive before playing or jump right in with a controller? I haven't played SF in a looong time and would like to get into it again, but I'm scared of jumping in and getting used to a controller. On the other hand, my wife is sick and I'm bored and want to play something.

Dude jump on the game now. Learn the pokes, specials, supers and some combos. Its just more knowledge for when your stick arrives. Execution wise this game is a little more lenient than past SF games, also some pros play with pad these days!

I'm a little conflicted as far as what version to get and I can't seem to find a clear answer to a question regarding matchmaking..My friends are on ps4 but I can get the steam version on the cheap and my pc is more than capable of running the game.I'm just not sure how the matchmaking works. From what I gathered the game has its own in game profile system, right? So does that mean that within the game I can add my psn friends and face them on my steam version whenever I like or is the crossplay function totally random as in I'll randomly be paired with an opponent on the opposite platform (kinda like Rocket League?) Also, does the game feature it's own voice chat or will I have to play without any chatting?

It begins

Hahahahaha!!!

Amazing!

I used to feed off of that shit when I played Dan in SFIV.

You can add friends from either version. There is no limitations on crossplay.

Is it just me or is the window to actually punish blocked moves smaller in this game than 4? I feel like most of the time I fully block a special and try to punish, I just get caught with a LP or LK because my opponent is mashing it. I felt like the window was much larger in 4.

I have almost given up trying to punish when blocking them. Never works out well for me.

You can play whoever you want, whenevr you want, the game uses capcom profiles. No voice chat.

Nothing to be sorry about... I just felt like you probably weren't enjoying it so I thought i'd quit, I play with my friend who is new at the game too and he gets super discouraged/mad everytime we play, so I didn't want to to happen with you too, don't take it personally =/

Nwah I understand, I really need to counter better, what can you do to prevent the jumping habit just pressing forward twice?
I always try to see a hole on the armor, I could've countered your jumps with DP or a Shoryuken easily.
Jumps gave away my armor and you could easily use your skills.

tbh, even I jump too much still. Best thing to do is get in a mtach and keep remembering '' dont jump'' while you're playing. Then if you do jump and get punished for it, slap yourself and remind yourself to not jump lol

Up for a few matches, Novum?

I find Medium AA to be the best setting on PC. It looks clear enough without looking jaggy. High and Max looks too blurry. It's just vaseline at that point. If you can downsample that's best though. :P

Does Karin have a good anti-air when the first just tries to jump on top of you from close range? It seems her cr. HP is pretty fickle and you sometimes have to anticipate the jump-in, back dash, and hope it's active early enough with it's slow start-up. Standing HP works too but you have to be pretty far from your opponent.

Nope. If they are above you and are crossing up you just need to block or dash out.

I really need help understanding when I am allowed to press a button. Every time I try to use a medium or heavy attack the opponent will jab and beat me, but every time I jab the opponent will use a medium or heavy attack and still beat me. This leaves me just blocking the entire time because I can't press any buttons without getting blown up for it. I've watched and feel like I understand the normal priority video, but in practice I don't see it working for me.

Nope, her anti air options are trash. Try and cross under them?
