It's easy. I got it down to 90-something percent in an hour in the beta, with limited training mode time. cr.lk cr.lp st.lp xx lk sbk I'm actually having more trouble with.

GRANTED, I've been playing fighting games for like 20 years, so your experience will probably vary, but there's absolutely nothing in 5 (so far) like lightning legs loops or superjump into ultra cancels or tsumuji loops.

I have no problems with cr mk to sbk but combining from a standing move to cr mk. That combo you listed is nuts.
 
Which makes having to do all the difficulties to unlock the costumes even more stupid.

Oh for sure. I'm probably never gonna bother with the hard or hell versions.

Hopefully they'll listen to the negative feedback they're sure to get about it, and implement some changes. Really doesn't make sense to lock colors behind a wall of grind like this.
 
Can't get online so just spending my first night in training mode with Fan. I've been on radio silence with this character, so apologies for what is probably common knowledge by now.

Kinda don't like that he has so many 2-hit normals (you get half the damage if only one hit connects) and that none of them seem special/super cancellable on the second hit.

I do like that so many of his normals move him forward while allowing him to maintain his charge. I normally don't like charge characters, but I do like projectile zoning. Maybe I'll mess around with him a bit.
 
Well I got up to lvl 33 in hard and that didn't unlock the easy (10 wins) or normal (30 wins?) rewards.

We have grinding in a fighting game.

And you know why? Because if you buy the Season Pass, you get the Colors. For the defaults, anyway.
 
Just played a really good Karin from Canada. And some guy raulrealist83 who was vega. Lit up that vega. Net code is awesome :D !!!!

Been playing with friends while waiting for the update to download. Game is real fun and even my friends that are shit at fighting games managed to get stuff out so game is good to me.
 
Damn SFV getting destoyed in Steam reviews lmaoooooo. There goes any hope of having big sales on PC cause i feel like lot of people who are not familiar with a game look at those reviews. I know i do from time to time. Capcom blew it lol. Good luck to them they are going to need it.

If it was me I would've waited to release the game, but they probably wanted to get the game out as early as possible for tournament related reasons.
 
Looks like you have to do Survival mode with alternate costumes to get colors for them. Doing it as the default ONLY unlocks for that.

God damn Capcom.

yeah they were rushed and it shows. badly. They collected data for 3 betas and didnt learn anything. Its over for them I think they need to pack it up. Also makes me sad to see that with bad sales now due to this, this may be the end of SF saga for another 10 years. First impression is everything in this industry and they failed at that. GL to capcom they are going to need it.

Anyone know how to work the wakeup action playback thingie? I can't figure out how you're supposed to get recorded wakeup actions to playback.

2:34 am and still can't login. PS4 version's shadow dithering is beyond awful..crapcom and dumps should be ashamed of releasing this dump.

Do you know how many hugely popular games had server issues worse than this on day 1?
 
Anyone know how to work the wakeup action playback thingie? I can't figure out how you're supposed to get recorded wakeup actions to playback.

Select a slot to record the action, then Input a command during the recovery window. Then go to set wakeup actions and turn that slot on.

The server issues should be gone soon enough and you're overreacting lol.
 
Finally got a mk sbk combo to 8 hits. I'm not going to bed until I get this bnb to the full 9 hits!!!

yeah the charge on that is weird, I'm not used to having that much time to still input the sbk before it comes out, its like you can do cr mk and still hold down a little bit more, and then up+kicks. Kinda the same feeling when you're doing a standing flash kick with Guile and charging down, letting go, st mp, up+kick

But they and many others have released games which rely on the internet for a long time. If small indy developers can develop mobile games which rely on the internet and work better than this then there is no reason Capcom couldn't
Previous Capcom fighting games have had online features, but SFV is a new one for them because it's attempting to establish its own storefront and account system. I have no idea if Dragon's Dogma Online had a flawless launch in Japan, but I imagine a worldwide launch for that game would also run into problems at the start. I also don't think most small indy devs are getting Street Fighter turnouts for their mobile game launches.
 
First impressions :

I hate it when a game launches and doesn't let you change settings right off the bat, I'm fucking thrown into this aliased tutorial on med settings at 1080p, why? I skip to go to settings, game tries to connect to server for a couple of minutes and fail, well...
After setting it up to my preferred resolution and settings to max, I finally manage to connect to the servers, go to story mode, and during the first combat it disconnects and kicks me out of my own game?

Fuck this.
