That feeling when you get matched against someone ranked way higher than you, get stomped the first round, figure them out in the second round, win the match, and then see them get ranked down a league.

Just crushing dreams over here

Yeah I saw that, his combos is what I spent my time training lol. My execution skills are just shit, but I'm kinda getting there. Once I get in a real match I just don't really know what to do or how to react. I get flustered. I might as well be a SF newb despite playing since SF2. Have never really tried to learn these games competitively. I'm one of those that spent his time in arcade mode and shit. Yeah, we do exist!

this is normal and it's not just lag. I can do crazy shit in training mode but I had to constantly practice until it was muscle memory before I could execute mid-match...and that's the easy part. You may be able to do a MVC3 dante cutscene but what's the point if you can't land the first hit in practical ways.

First thing to ingrain in your mind is how to react to unexpected crush counters...even if all you do is mash out a hard punch or kick during the stun that's SOMETHING. Then the fun begins when your brain just reacts with a huge punish combo during a counter, and you start seeking them out specifically, etc.

Finally won my first ranked match (after about 8 tries) and went on to win 2 more in a row for tha trophy.

Amazing feeling once you finally are able to push the boundary and improve.

Matchmaking seems a bit wonked though as before I finally won, I got matched up with someone in the silver league who destroyed me, then someone in Ultra bronze who after tossing me aside was promoted to Silver.

I'm so torn between the two versions of the Hori Fighting Commander! I can get the rotating version sooner, but I'll have to wait at least a week and a half for the other one...Is the rotation really that detrimental?

Calvin balanced the difficulty in survivor weird. Fights 1-25 I can breeze though with no issues. I can perfect a lot of the matches. Then 26-30 just ups it from what feels like a 2 to a 6 or 7. Isn't great.

Wouldnt say it's detrimental but the rotation is only around 15-20%.

If you don't need an angled D-Pad get the other Fighting Commander.

Yeah, until you have a handle on a character, this game is brutal on you.

Is anyone else who has this game on an SSD (PC, not PS4) really unimpressed with the load times? Not talking about online matches, obviously, but just loading offline shit like training mode. Might be some network issues keeping the load times crazy long. I also wonder if the load times are being artificially lengthened because Capcom thinks we should hear their fight intro music to completion every single time.

I hope after the big issues are patched they can work on load times, if it's still necessary after the network issues are resolved.

To the Nash I just fought... I'm not even mad at that. Good shit. Is there any message someone who's not on the same platform as you?

This game is so infuriating. I'm really bad at it and i'm not learning a fucking thing getting beat on by someone with 1500 more LP than me that just destroys me 2 rounds in a row.

Seems like the loading and waiting for matches in general is pretty bad. Makes me glad there's at least no character select screen for online matches. Don't need to delay that any more.

This game sucks at explaining anything to newbies. I've scanned the command list but it doesn't tell me what v-skills and v-triggers actually do, especially since it's not always apparent. The wiki has been helping a bit, but it shouldn't be so difficult to find out what the fuck Yoga Float does.

I am so bad at 720s -_-

Even with jumps and buffering I struggle to do them
Sounds like you need a better pad, or need to get better at your stick.

Gief can do just fine without his super. His EX tools are too useful and high damaging not to be used.

New players: stop learning combos

You are doing it wrong. Worry about pokes, distances, blocking. Play the game like its Mortal kombat 2, jump heavy kick followed by crouching heavy kick.

Well technically thats playing it like SF2 also :D But yeah, combos should be the least of your worry early on.
