I can't create battle lounges anymore. Wtf...

I only had a problem with this the first week and haven't had an issue since. But ever since last night I just get disconnected from my own lounge within seconds. What gives?

I had to turn char select off to stay in lobbies, been pretty crappy the last week for me.

Getting my arse kicked as Laura now, yay. The game clearly knows I'm new at Laura but sends me against bronzes which I got to as Ken, really fucking fair that
Since my KD ratio is already dogshit I might just purposely lose matches so I can go back down to rookie, that wouldn't take much effort thoug considering I must be fucking shit already

It might be better to play Gaffers who are learning as well. That way you can learn directly.

Is there any way to message people you played?

The name I see online is the CFN id, but how do I get a PSN id from that. I am giving up on messaging pc peeps even.

The matchmaking is done by LP, so you'll be fighting the same people you would've as Ken. Like a lot of people have suggested to you, casual matches might be a good way to go. You'd still be fighting people around the LP you're at and would give you a chance to work on your character without worrying about points
That is quite frankly a terrible idea, that system literally penalises you if you want to try more than 1 character. Especially so the higher up you go in the ranks, and it carries over to casual so unless your doing lobbies your fucked if you want to try a new character online.

And I am playing casual btw, no wins all loses.

Might as well go back to Ken since I'm getting penalised for not playing as him.

I really like this game, I think I like it more than IV, but at the same time, it makes me so much more salty than IV. JESUS.

Yeah I just got this problem, too.
The best guess is still that people get their profiles f'd up and can't create lobbies anymore. Check the date/LP on your character profile. Spreading like a virus lol
It looks like everything checks out except it says last played Feb 17, but I'm wondering if that means the last time I played ranked because it's been a while

I've been stuck at 6500 LP for the past week.

I might have to give that a shot.

It makes sense, at least for ranked. If it didn't work like that then I could go into rank with a "new" character and just clean house for easy LP.

Battle lounges are the best way to learn in my opinion, though mine is borked at the moment.

I'm saying it should be character based on each account, that way you don't see a world class gief player try out say Nash and get his arse handed on a silver platter just because he dared to actually utilise the roster

cfn profile should list both cfn id and psn id if they are a ps4 player

Aaah, thanks.

Gotta tell so many people that they should STOP JUMPING. Well I tried to communicate that with my elbow and lariat but it seems they don't get the message.

You don't go to Ranked if you're trying out a new character. You go to Battle Lounges or Casual matches. It's an extremely simple concept.

10 straight loses in a row as Laura, so I'm stuck with Ken then, great. Might as well just not bother.

You'll naturally do better with some characters than others because it's a personal thing, but abandoning a character for this reason isn't right. Once you move onto another, you'll use the same excuse once you get into other kinds of difficult situations often with that character. A lot of characters are bad in a lot of situations.

Then again, this is the mindset a lot of players have, which makes their skill remain stagnant instead of improving.

I forget, is there a way to directly report rage quitters to capcom? Doesn't happen to me often thankfully, but drives me nuts.

I was in casual and getting matched with bronzes and above because I got there with Ken and that's bullshit

I get what you're saying but what's to say that the Zangief player doesn't actually know how to play Nash and he just wants easy points?

Those points go to his Nash account and that then leagues up just as his Gief did.
So no account LP system but each account has A LP system for every character on that account, playing and winning as that character only league ups that 1 character

Turn on the game. Lose 3 in a row. Cool. Win 1. Then beat a 2800 silver ryu player and guess what? Rage quit. I'm done for the day. Give me my 20 mins back.

A world class Gief player got that way because he can handle losing. He'll learn from his losses and get better at Nash. You have to accept that failure is part of the game.

That said, I don't think I disagree with a per character points system of some kind.

The problem with this is that there will be better players who can play multiple characters well, or well enough. When they decide to play a new character in ranked, they'll be matched against the people still low in LP, which would be unfair too since they're still learning

So the system should expect Daigo playing Karen for the first time to have the same skill as a completely new player?

While true they will soon reach there level, it's no different from a sf vet coming into the game 6 months after launch and crushing everyone silver down

As opposed to new players getting destroyed because they played someone else? Yes. He will league up as Karin and be in his appropriate league. Otherwise your just gonna get players who are too scared to play other characters and that will hurt the game

Played a FT5 lobby against a Laura who beat me silly for 4 matches straight before I somewhat figured out how to approach the match-up, and managed two wins in before finally losing in a close match. However, I did manage to engineer that I got KO'd in the kitchen in the final match, and even managed to screenshot my noodles. So really, I think that makes me the winner of that set*!

Everybody starts in the same place and the points system is supposed to gradually sort them out. I don't see how it's less fair for Daigo to slaughter newbies with a new character versus one of his old mains. Either way better players will be matched with worse ones until they get their wins and approach their skill plateau.

What really needs work is the matchmaking system itself. My last session had me fighting people either 800 points lower or 800 points higher. There must be more people within a few hundred points of me that I could be fighting, right? I don't mind fighting a much better player now and then but all I get are silver and above opponents when I'm still halfway between ultra bronze and silver at best.

Wait, what the heck is this, a new stage?!

Exactly, it just means people who aren't pros won't be afraid of using the roster and that would benefit the game

One difference is that said vet would only pummel their way through ranked once, when LP is account wide, while they'd be doing so every time they switched character, if LP is per character. It would only make it worse for low-ranked players, and add a lot of grind for higher ranked players, since they'd have to get all the way back around the point where they were before.

Wait, what the heck is this, a new stage?!

It's the China stage; if you get KO'd in the left corner, you break down the door to the resturent. If you then get KO'd in the left corner again, you get thrown into the kitchen.

*shrug*

I switched from Gief to Ryu on ranked and was matched up against Silver players in my first matches. Got dropped all the way back down to bronze but that's just how it is. You pick a new character you don't know how to use and you'll be put back in your appropriate place for that character as well.

Game should track your most played character, and less played ones should receive half the penalty in LP....until they become the most played ofc.

trying to get through survival hard with Nash... any pointers?

I either get rekt by ryu/chu in stage 13-15, or somewhere late 20s. highest i went was 29.

I gets really annoying when cpu just reads you input and counters it.
