Subtle gamer tattoos

This is the closest thing I've seen to people getting a ton of 'launch' tattoos, but those are all staff members for The Old Republic so eh.

Still Bioware.

Oh boyo back in the day when everyone was desperate to put out their hail mary "wow killer" and save their company

I just got a gamer tattoo with my fiancee (our first ink). We chose the Winged Crest from Zelda, made them on our forearms (just under the elbow), on opposite hands, so that they are visible when we hold them.
In Poland gamer/Nintendo tattoos are very rare, so it's as subtle as any other.

Mine is kinda subtle?

Edit: although it's not exactly precise (slight mistake of the artist/my own QA), there is a subtle reference to one of my favorite literary characters from one of my favorite books, Great Expectations.

This one is the best. I can imagine him holding up his right arm to show it off to friends....it says CRASH. "Oh cool, I guess...." everyone surmises. Then he holds up his left arm....it says BANDICOOT 2. Everyone shifts their eyes back and forth, thinking "What the fuck?"

I never tire of seeing Krad'ohs and Crash Bandicoot 2... But seriously, what the fuck at that Pokeball ink... Even with the body mods, it's just... ugh... no.

As far as any actual subtle pieces I have, mine are pretty blatant. Could be a matter of perspective, I guess. A lot of non-gamers ask if my Master Sword/Hyrulian shield (yes- I have Zelda ink which renders me a basic bitch I suppose) is my family's crest. I mean, I wish...

And then there's my K.K. piece, which to those not in the know, is simply "cute dog with guitar";

(Believe it or not, the whites look just as good now as when I first got it.)

Figure I'll share since others are sharing their subtle and non-subtle pieces alike.

I plan on getting this tattooed on my upperback, I feel like it's pretty subtle for the most part.

I am also planning on getting that! I love that design. A good tattoo artist can maybe make some adjustments to the design to make it look even better.

I also got some temporary tattoos from straytats to test out how it looks on me and if I like it.

The only nice subtle gaming tatoos i've ever seen are Super Hexagon ones.

I don't have very good skin (allergies + eczema) so I don't think I'll ever get one, but if I did I'd probably get this one (seen on twitter by @legobutts - i think she actually got this one!):

This is also nice:

That's pretty nice, although I'd be tempted to remove the wood kindling lines around the bottom just to make it neater

I don't think I would ever get something from any sort of media... crap. nevermind, I have a Cthulhu tattoo.

Anhow, If I were to get a tattoo of something from video gaming it would probably be something classic, tasteful and small (2 in square?) . I would also get the artists version of it. I don't want something straight from a game that anyone else may have. Give me a little twist. Really the tattoo would be a "My Childhood tatoo" vs. a "Video Game Tattoo".

To each their own though.

I also always thought the tattoo's of people having characters done in such a way that their hand is your hand.. I mean, how awkward is to be pleasured by Ryu?

This thread is a great example of why you should look at the portfolio of the artists work before getting inked. So many awful quality tats contrasted with some excellent ones.

I googled this awhile ago, seems like the kind I would get. Shadow of the Colossus is pretty subtle. I want something F-Zero related also....not sure what to get. Edit: This one of Mr Saturn seems pretty awesome too.

If I were to get a tattoo, this would be a contender. Earthbound is my favorite game, and Mr. Saturn is an excellent and subtle option. Or I'd get a really bizarre reference like just the UFO shooting lightning like in this pic:

The bigger problem with most of these tattoos is that they're just poorly done. Competent versions of them would probabaly look fine.

The only gaming tattoo I think I'd get is a Shy Guy.
