Review embargo doesn't lift until ~2 days before release?

Ruh roh.

Maybe those extensive reshoots were a sign of production trouble.

People still believe embargo dates reflect quality? You'd think after Star Wars TFA had a tight embargo, among countless other examples, that fallacy would vanish.

Well, TFA was a special case cause everyone knew the embargo was there so no plot details would leak. They were so tightlipped that we didn't even get a movie synopsys.

But yeah, embargos don't reflect a movie's quality, Beyond is a recent example of that.

Isn't Suicide Squad the same? What's the movie really about? Can anyone point to an official source which indicates what the Suicide Squad is actually assembled to do for Waller in the film? What's their mission? Why is there weird energy shit floating in the middle of the city in the trailers? What are the rock things they fight? What's Joker's role in all of it? Are the Batman scenes current or flashbacks? I don't think anyone knows for sure, and that's kinda exciting...

Huh, the only reason is No one gave SS benefit of doubt because of BVS.

I've been trying to stay away from too many spoilers but essentially
Waller sets up the Suicide Squad to defeat Enchantress and yeah, the Batman clips are flashbacks. With TFA, we literally knew nothing about the plot besides what we saw in the trailers. They're not just dropping a bunch of spoilers left and right but they also aren't being super tightlipped with the film like LucasFilm was with TFA.

Only one of those I'm actually sure of it Joker-
he hears about Harley being out, and crashes the mission to reunite with her.

But beyond that, nada. June's presence w/ Flag and her working with Waller as a demonstration sorta undermines my big theory about her as the main villain.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Where did you get any of that from? Links to interviews and trailers/features with that info? Because I'm not seeing it. The official character feature on Enchantress on Warner's Youtube channel is Waller presenting her as a weapon they can use.

It's been great not being able to piece together the plot from the trailers. Going into this fresher than any CBM in recent memory.

Watching this next Saturday. Feels like there is zero hype though, compared to BvS.

Other people have already mentioned it, but most people I know are really interested in the movie. People who had no interest in BvS even before the reviews have told me they want to see this movie after watching the trailers. If it reviews pretty well it should do pretty good at the BO.

Every single fucking thread dude. Wasn't funny the first time, wasn't funny the fiftieth time.

Cautiously optimistic for HQ and Mr J on screen together for the first time.
Other than that keeping my hopes in check.

Will be happy with a 6 or 7 film so gonna say 65% RT

Some of the early buzz seems like the critics who hated BvS didn't care for Suicide Squad either. At least according to one blogger anyway who aluded that people will be pissing and moaning about the "Marvel checks clearing" for those critics who end up hating it.

My bet

Deadshot - Not die
Joker - Not die
Harley Quinn - die
Rick Flag - die
Amanda Waller - After credit death
Boomerang - die
El Diablo - die
Killer Croc - die
Katana - Not die

ROPEGUY - Revealed to be Darkseid

That Rope guy part...

Harley Quinn has too much milking opportunity to die imo. Deadshot would be more likely.

Edit: "Milking opportunity" sounds horrible lol

Do we have any idea how much screentime Joker is getting in this?

Also, if we're having a Gaf Dead Pool...my money is on Rope Guy making it to 15 minutes.

Ropeguy will survive. Just watch!

Rope Guy is going to abruptly execute Harley Quinn and Joker halfway through the movie, only to rip off his mask to reveal he's been Amanda Waller this whole time and we're going to be glad to have seen it.

Where have you see that?

Unless the trailers have been incredibly deceiving, I can't see this getting below a 60% RT. Only time will tell.
