Behold, the show floor. Where currency and doujins exchange hands at rapid speed.

Hey, hey, it's not that good! There's nothing particularly noteworthy about the art, animation, direction, or anything relevant to the academic appreciation of anime. It's just good for a one-off comedic plot, and humor being extraordinarily relative and whatnot, I can make no promises.

Don't worry; it's not like I'm going to shun you if I don't like it. That can happen with any recommendation no matter how much I normally agree with the person making it.

I liked the steins gate anime art
its more unique than most. I think its the eyes and excessive use of brightness.

Unique doesn't mean good, although the designs aren't terrible or anything. But the Robotics:Notes designs are much better for animation, and most importantly, won't be animated by White Fox. Of course the show could still be bad.

Is _Keiichi_ under some kind of witness protection program or something? That's two name changes in only a few days isn't it?

MEGANE
MEGANE EVERYWHERE

There are of course glasses designs being sold for all five.
The article might have spoilers for those of you sensitive to Precure identity information, by the way, so you can just skip over that bit of text, read the following, and use this big picture for the safe version:

I'm really not familiar with all the PreCure! merchandising but in terms of Smile PreCure! this seems to be a bit of a stretch haha. I think I like March's design the best because they look more adult or formal looking than the others, although I do like that colour of blue for Reika's glasses.

Thanks for the warning about the spoilers as well, since I haven't seen any of the other Precure's other than about half of the first.

Man this Nyaruko doll looks nice.

KFcZG.jpg

I just wanted to say I agree with you and that this looks like one of the best anime characters to doll transitions that I've seen. Most times they come out looking really strange, even for the dolls based around Rozen Maiden it was kind of hit and miss in my opinion.

I think he's talking about Sword Art Online. The furry novel is doing okay too, it's an adaptation of the movie, like those film adaptation books you see for every movie blockbuster in the US.

Maybe it's been happening for awhile and I never really payed attention to it since about the Halo and World of Warcraft novels but I noticed many of the big video games releases are getting novel adaptations or tie-ins as well. I even saw a Metal Gear Solid novel adaptation but I'm not really sure what the point of that is since there's so much dialogue in the games already played out through codec screens.

Its too bad that Madoka girl is fake. But that was a pretty boring design.
Hopelly Shaft unveils real surprises in the movies.

I missed where anyone mentioned it was fake. I was just wondering where you saw that?

Aniplex and Magi are ready for Comiket tomorrow, the question is, are you?

Shit I just realized how sexist the promotion is. Where the fuck is Mor?!

Indeed, it needs more Mor! :(

OHOUg.png

irl friend hyped it up as one of the best anime ever and being a good friend he essentially made me watch it all :(

Ah, I see. So that's why you watched all of it.

It's kind of funny how Shaft has only announced the project and revealed the character designs for the show and yet they've already got people guessing left and right. Will it be like Madoka? Will it be a traditional Mahou Shoujo? Will it start out traditional and then due to some plot twist switch over? Maybe in some weird way vice versa? Should we or should we not trust the bunny mascot?

Haha, mind games are so much fun! :)

Based on last week's preview I was fully prepared to drop this show on the spot if the DORAMA got too heavyhanded. Thankfully, what we got instead was
hilarity as a mysterious being decides to troll the everloving fuck outta some dumb kids
. Shit was awesome. I'm glad I managed to power through some of it in the end.

As good as that was, though, there are still some pretty glaring flaws about these characters that just plain make no sense to me.

Taichi is constantly saying, and is constantly being told that
he is somewhat emotionless and that he has trouble expressing himself to other people
. Over the course of the show there has been NO EXAMPLE WHATSOEVER of this being even remotely true, at least not any that I recall.
The guy expresses himself just fine from where I'm standing, perhaps much more than most people, even, so I have no clue what the hell these kids are seeing in him that I'm not
.

Iori claims that
due to certain circumstances she has conditioned herself to basically switch personalities and act like a different person depending on which group of people she's with
and, again we never actually see this depicted in the show at any point. Granted, most of her interactions we've seen are with either this group at school or her mother but still, we're supposed to just take her word for it because the show has never deemed it fit to actually show us that this true.

Inaba comes up with an excuse for
her fainting and generally sickly behavior by claiming that it's because she's unable to trust others easily
. The others seem to ignore the fact that it makes no sense whatsoever to correlate one thing with the other and
for some reason accept her painfully and obviously made up excuse no questions asked and decide to never bring it up again, ever.
I'm sure that'll come in handy for when the show decides to pick up that particular plot point later on. At least we got to find out about her
masturbatory material
out of the whole thing so there's that, I guess.

Yui is
secretly afraid of men
. Frankly I thought it was stupid that she managed to hide it as well for so long when for the longest time it looked to me like she got along just fine with everybody but whatever, I'll let it slide because hey, maybe I was fooled as well! Oh show, you so smart.

Blonde dude just wants some love, man. Give a bro some lovin'.

It's a comedy show, what exactly would be the point of condensing things? Are people watching this show for the plot?
Well, it's not funny when the punchline is the same every single time. At the very least, I'd like to stop finding the main character annoying. Unless this is a spiritual sequel to OreImo. :p

That isn't how these kinds of series work :/
I guess it's a question of whether this is an anime that's supposed to stand on its own or whether its a long commercial for the manga.

Yunocchi would be much too camera shy!
But then we'd get to see wideface in real life!

Well, the image in the article makes it look like it'll be a hand puppet on his shoulder or something similar.
Oh... never mind then. :(

Oh man, I hope the puppet is stuck on his shoulder for the entire show. :p

I would say the situation is kind of like a more reasonable Medaka Box, because it's funny right from the beginning, but as far as plot advancement/character development that sticks goes, there won't be much of it until the end. At least next episode changes up the formula a bit by introducing the 3rd main character.

I guess I can see that even if I don't entirely agree. Though I didn't really think it was the kind of show that needed super high production values in the first place. I have no idea for Robotics;notes since I'm not familiar with it, but I guess it could go either way since Chaos;head was rather actiony.

All shows need high production values, it's just easier to tolerate low production values in some shows than others.

I'm pretty sure that shows whose trailers have that shitty bubblegum techno with synth violins have a perfect record of being bad.

Not even as a potential #sufferwatch?

Suffering is an art! Not just any old bad show will do. Watching something loaded down with terrible otaku tropes all played straight is the easy way out. There's something much more exquisite about the badness of shows like Brave 10 and Shining Hearts: Shiawase no Pan that at least eschew the usual high school romcom premise for something else.

A TV anime adaptation of the Cuticle Detective Inaba manga was announced at Comiket.

MAL Synopsis said:
Private Detective Hiroshi Inaba is an artificially-created being, formed by splicing the genes of both a human and a wolf, who gains information by tasting and examining people's hair, and pretty much has a hair fetish. He can transform into a more wolf-like form, and also gain special powers and perform different attacks depending on the type or colour of hair he eats. Formerly employed by the police and partnered with an officer, he now runs his own private detective agency with the help of his sadistic, cross-dressing secretary Yuuta (often mistaken for a girl), and Kei (a *relatively* normal teenager working part-time at the office. Ogino, the officer formerly partnered with Hiroshi, also often helps out with cases. His arch-enemy is Don Valentino, an evil mastermind goat with a taste (literally) for money, and a variety of messed up but extremely devoted henchman, including gentleman samurai Laurence, who always wears a bag over his head. Most chapters are individual stories revolving around Hiroshi and his friends trying to arrest the Don, always failing miserably.

Yanderes can't be crappy, though. Yandere is best dere.

This is truth. Very truthy truthful truth.

Sailor Moon S 113

It's interesting that
the older group of Sailors, Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune, have a lot more respect for Tuxedo Mask then they do for Princess Serenity. You'd think it would be the other way round, really.

The Death Busters are really fun villains so far,
I wouldn't have thought of Cormorants as the symbol for a group of people set on taking of the world, but it oddly fits with the Professor's general wackiness.

Told you she was really cute!

If it's all about the jokes, it needs a bigger cast to mitigate the fact that for the last six episodes, most of the jokes end with Sakura punching someone to the moon or being otherwise tsundere.

Also, it was funny when she didn't learn the lesson the first time with her butler, because that just subverts expectations. Now it just makes her dense or selfish.

Is Brave 10 really that bad though?

I'm down with this, but I'll wait for the announcement of studio and staff before I let myself be more interested. It sounds like the kind of thing that's going to have to be handled just so in order to work.

It's superbly bad.

If you haven't seen it, find a day in your summer (winter?) to squeeze it in and you can assign me a show in return. It doesn't have to be now or any time soon.

Brave 10 is just an average reverse-harem though. It even ships two the harem members together for maximum fuji bait.

It might be an average reverse harem, but pretty much everything else about the show is either terrible or insane! Lovers of bad anime would appreciate Brave 10 just on the merits of its laughably horrid fight choreography, much less the presence of memorable characters like hammy psychopath Kamanosuke.

Yes, which is why I'm saying it's in the intro phases. 3 or 4 episodes of different takes on the same formula should not be enough for it to feel old. This is to ease you into the premise and get a feel for the character's personalities. Yeah, it gets better when the cast gets larger, but that's how it is with most long-running comedies (at least until it jumps the shark). Gintama wasn't a quarter as funny as this in the same time period.

Shaft is confirmed to be the studio behind Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, with Hiroki Harada (Romeo X Juliet) doing character designs and Katsuhiko Takayama (Natsu no Arashi!, Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru) doing series composition.
