It's weird when a show just goes for it, but is so cheap. As you can see, they tried to do their own version of the "toothbrush" scene, but it might as well have been a series of stills with the voice actress doing her best to fake an orgasm on a microphone.

Also, it only took him 7 episodes to figure out that he could use DNA tests. lol

I think the only reason I remotely enjoy this show is that this is as close to a teacher arc in Amagami SS as I'll probably get. lol
I don't get why they even bothered trying to provide backstory for the characters, when it's just haremshit.

At least I'm scrubbing through this stuff and not really watching it. lol

Yeah the proportions are definitely off. Her arms are too long too I think. She's cute though.

Her bandaged hand isn't even brought up that much. I would say she's defined by her entire design, her occupation, and her deadpan humor that sometimes drifts into over the top humor. Shinpachi has none of that because he's a boring no-character.

And I really don't know how you can defend Gintama in this aspect when it's arguably worse about character development resets.

There are no resets though, they're already at their best. They just don't want to be at their best all the time, so they go back to being slobs and drunks and whatnot.

If I had a complaint, it's that some of the relationships are static - for all the talk of Gintoki being an experienced man and frequenting Yoshizara, he sure spends a lot of time ignoring women.

For UK-ites, Scotland Loves Animation have confirmed screenings of Blood-C The Last Dark, the second Berserk movie, Wolf Children and Nerawareta Gakuen at their Edinburgh event in October. I am sorely tempted to go - I don't care about Berserk but the other three are a different matter (particularly NeraGaku).

Once again, as per last year, I'm doing all movie in both locations. Because I'm crazy.

Interestingly Wolf Children is only advertised as the "Scottish premiere" - maybe there's an English/Welsh premiere coming up?

Good catch - London Film Festival normally runs around the same time as SLA (I remember taking a train from Edinburgh straight down to London for Children Who Chase Lost Voices last year... what a waste that was...), and seems like the most likely suspect for an earlier screening, given Leeds Film Festival isn't until November.

PA Works has announced ANOTHER new anime. This time it's an original anime series in collaboration with Dengeki Daiou. The title is Nagi no Asukara. The director is Toshiya Shinohara, who is also directing the upcoming Red Data Girl for PA Works. Mari Okada is doing the series composition, and the original character design is by Buriki (Haganai). More details will be unveiled at the upcoming Dengeki 20th Anniversary event.

Such a great series. Interesting characters with a story revolving around baseball. I think it's a must watch even if you don't like sports.

As much as I love the Gintama crew, I barely consider them sympathetic characters. And there's room for growth that just doesn't happen. In Binbougami, it took 8 episodes for Ichiko's facade to break and for her to finally start to open up. In Gintama, it took 240 episodes for Katsura and Elizabeth to develop and they STILL reset it.

So-so episode. First part was our hero running away from barely dressed girls at a hot spring/ beach resort as they go about their merry ways in suffocate him with their breasts, kidnapping to go on a date or lecturing him in a hot springs.

Part two gets better with number one rival doing something and we get a new villain on a flying horse to ruin the hero's day. Action was good, harem stuff was boring.

Also, worst use of a giant fire boar yet? Leap up into the sky and then charge the guy who entered on a flying horse off the boar and then have the boar land and possibly go berserk before the flying horse reenters?

Okay, not universally terrible--there are exceptions to the rule like Kero in Card Captor Sakura, Tarte in Fresh Precure!, and even Luna/Artemis from Sailor Moon itself. However, ChuChu is far from an exception.

That bad? I mean, I appreciate I have the benefit of living in Northumberland (which isn't really much of a benefit when it comes to my more frequent trips to London), but I've just grabbed train tickets into Glasgow and back for SLA for £50, and that's first class.

Train tickets aren't that bad as long as you can book a couple of months in advance. God forbid you try and arrange anything at the last minute, though.
