Did you cry happy tears when
she found out where her dad took that picture?
:firehawk

Yes (spoilers I guess). I loved the whole scene
especially when the music kicked in right when she realized that this is the place and I liked that small flashback we got when they were kids with their dad.
Really good stuff.

Nothing Interesting Happened Art Online 11

There's usually a fair amount of facepalming that goes on whenever I watch an episode of SAO but this time there was also a whole lot of yawning in between.

It's such great :firehawk porn. I'd totally buy the fuck out of Tamayura if someone here would get off their asses and licensed it.
(At this point, it has to be Nozomi because no one else will touch it with a ten foot pole).

I think you'll like the series, although the focus is on the other girls (and really, whistle-girl in particular). There is still plenty of :firehawk to go around though.

(And speaking of which, like Rinne, I have to imagine Tamayura is half a commercial for the town that they live in... but I guess only a certain group of people are going to follow SatoJun and buy his stuff anyway, so there's no risk of alienation through merchandising there. lol)

Queens Blade Rebellion vs Hagure Yuusha No Estetica

Well if I had seen this before season, I probably wouldnt have picked up Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, and as my first experience with Queens Blade, definitely can say I have no interest in seeing it. Outfit choices are boggling and
why so weak, Akkii easily defeated them
. At least Realization instrumental played.

Sword Art Online 11

Yui's pretty cute, but that's about it for this ep. Show needs more Liz.

Got in my latest Bandai haul the other day...both Star Driver BD's and Fantastic Children. Picked these up on the basis of AnimeGAF recommendations (much more so for the latter). Got a few more shows on my Bandai shopping list (Code Geass R1, Mai-HiME and Planetes at least) and then I'm done.

Great animation this episode compared to the last one. While the focus is mainly on the Generation of Miracles it was also nice to see more of the other players.

Aomine vs Kise is a great way to end the season but since I started to read the manga, I know there is plenty more to come when they finally announce a second season.

That's bizarre. I didn't get that impression from the show at all.

Every single friggin' episode has "Kamogawa" in the title.

1 - Welcome to Kamogawa!
2 - Kamogawa Spirit
3 - Lan Blooms in Kamogawa
4 - The Swimmers of Kamogawa
5 - The Man Who Came to Kamogawa
...
12 - Until We Meet Again, in Kamogawa

S2
13 - Welcome Back to Kamogawa!
14 - Mayhem On Kamogawa Beach
15 - The Kamogawa Experiment
16 - A Reunion in Kamogawa
17 - In Orbit Above the Summer Skies of Kamogawa
...etc.

And Madoka's so enthusiastic about the city, "You'll come to love Kamogawa!" "I'll show you all the great places in Kamogawa!"
"Lan...Muginami...I just know they must have come back to Kamogawa!"

It get's a little silly/overdone after a while.
It wouldn't so much if it were Tokyo or New York or some other famous place, but because it's this not-especially-famous city it's kind of weird, like they're desperate for people to remember the name "Kamogawa." Especially with the "otaku tourism" thing in the news the past couple years.

This is exactly why I'm glad I've finished the first season already. :lol

Yeah, it's a blatant overture to otaku tourists, although in-show it doesn't bother me when the characters show a particularly strong pride for their community because there are people like that pretty much anywhere, whether they live in a gigantic metropolis or the middle of nowhere. Even in the meth-addicted shithole rural town that I live in, there are people who genuinely believe they live in the best place on Earth. I don't know if it's willful cognitive dissonance to help them cope with life here, but it happens.

As for Kamogawa specifically, I guess it makes sense for a genki athletic girl like Madoka to think "fuck yeah! I live in a place with an awesome school and an awesome beach and awesome food and this is pretty much paradise." The whole place is kind of a neverending funhouse for someone with a personalty like hers, even if someone like me would have to be paid to live on a noisy beachfront full of attractive affluent people which is at nature's mercy due to its proximity to the ocean.

Now that the disgusting drama arc is over I figure it's time to give the show a second chance. I'm digging the new premise so far but I think the new
"love triangle but both girls are totally cool with sharing dat delicious Taichi"
dynamic is stupid. One more thing I didn't care for was how this time
Taichi is exempt from all this. It's like you just can't have the white knight become the white knightee under any circumstance
. Shit sucks.

The second arc was too monotonous. It would have benefited from a balance of lighthearted stuff mixed in revealing various sides of them.

They're not OK with sharing Taichi; they're just striving to remain friends despite competing for him.

Taichi being officially designated a knight made me giggle, but we know he winds up becoming a kid at some point because of the ending animation.

It's reasons like that why it doesn't bother me either.

The whole Jersey Club is all about helping the community, so it makes sense that she'd care about the town.

Your mind is still connected . The user is still in a vegetable state and the numerous security preventing nervegear removal are still active.
Going from what is know you won't have much problems if your connexion to SAO is cut accidently ..but a long time without said connexion and pof "fry brain"..

The rest i can't say without going into spoilers

The more I hear about the nervegear the more ridiculous it is that this was even allowed to exist, let alone with a complete lack of any safety features whatsoever.

Kamogawa seems like the best place to live in Japan though! All those beaches and girls in jerseys!

Not too different from here, tbh. You're either from New York or LA, everything in between is a god-fevered wasteland full of inbred white people.

The beaches in small towns seem to be much better though. lol

Ehh. If I had the choice of living anywhere in Japan, it'd either be Osaka for the sexy accents, takoyaki, and awesome cultural shit or bumfuck Hokkaido for the prospect of actual winters, hahah. Couldn't stand living in a perpetual tourist attraction.

If the NY/LA people solely looked down on middle America for some of its cultural issues that'd be one thing, but more than that it just feels like uniform condescension toward anyone who doesn't live in a vast metropolis. City dwellers have a hilariously skewed idea of what the rest of the country is like--I laugh my ass off if I'm watching the national news and hear a phrase like "a tiny community of 150,000 people".

Never seen the live-action one lol. The German horn-players i've met though were all hilarious as much as they were crazy, and yes, could drink a lot.

I think I meant more along like the processes and environment though, lol
The conservatory, foreign, and competitive atmospheres were all pretty spot on, and the same could be said for instrumentalist relationships, practice habits, and schooling. At least, as far as i've been through the whole shebang.

That dude has a pretty pimp hat though, that's for sure.

Kind of a disappointing episode, to be honest. It felt really padded out and we didn't really learn anything last week's preview hadn't already told us.
