I didn't know Magi was getting an Eng dub, and from reading the article it seems like it's pretty far in since it's going to be premiered in 3 weeks (so I guess I'm late to this news once again). This is quite surprising news for me. Whenever the DVD's for it come out I'll be sure to buy them because the show was amazing to me.

You know, there were times that I got confused at whose who due to similarities, but the whole lets take over as Usagi while she's away thing just made me go "There's a joke here".

Anyway, they're concerned about her
Mainly because the Princess was rather powerful... too powerful even, and that was the cause of concern. We get more details on how Beryl caused things to happen. Nephrite became a human, and remembers him getting killed.

Mamoru tries to find out more details about his past from the remaining Shitennou, Kunzite still being a manbaby over all of it, and Jadiete is upset at how Queen Beryl used him.

Speaking of which she was confused as to how Meteria was gaining power despite not collecting energy, but it was revealed that it was reacting to the Princess.

Oh yeah, and the Princess acknowledged that she was the one that killed the planet. That's why she's so powerful. lolololololol

First time in a while that I watched a clip show. I'm going to be honest here. At PGSM's best, it matches... or even exceeds the Nolan Batman trilogy's fight choreography.

Anyway, the not clip show bits.

- Nephrite still being a bitch. Treated Motoki like shit.
- Sword fighting
- Showdown starting at the end.
- Not sure what the fuck was the preview.

Interesting thoughts on Serenity. Give her what she wants or bad shit will go down. Cut gloves made by Ami, create a light field that kills Youmas and purifies other. Try to take her man, she'll cut you down and won't give a fuck about what you're doing. BAMF. Kill her husbando? Everyone dies. Clearly she has.... a short temper.

or Serenity will wreck shit, and nearly kill Shingo in the process.

Luna actually killed a Youma, I'm rather surprised.

Minako's Director actually knows Usagi's mom, surprised! I think that's why Usagi's mother is kind of insane. Or rather really expressive. He also kiss-raped Artemis and Luna, but hey, Minako gave Artemis one too, so Luna got the short end of the stick.

Now Minako wants to quit singing.

Gonna save the last 10 for tomorrow.

A gun fight! Yaaay. May not have jazz music but hey! Middle Schoolers vs High Schoolers, each class having a better advantage thanks to enhanced Gun Porn. Sniper battles with Sig and G3, Burst fires and whatnot.

They really go out their way to try to avoid panty shots, I mean damn.

Oh man I've been sorta off kilter these past few days, barely watched any animu at all. Hain't even watched last week's MJP or AoT. I blame Xenoblade. Every time I think that game is over, it isn't. And I got Project X-Zone and SMT4 for my birthday, so I been busy cramming not-work before school.

Nice break after the relatively heavy shit that almost went down last episode. I wonder if they rounded up all the one-off chapters and put them in here, although it's definitely a Suzu-centric episode.

Tororo was brilliant.

So, there was an ANNCast with two people who worked at Media Blasters. One revelation is that Sayonara Zetsubuo Sensei was a package deal with Blade of the Immortal, Moyashimon, and two other random titles. Also, even though they had the license for years, no one actually worked on SZS so there's basically no hope for a US release short of it expiring and someone else re-licensing it.

Also, they ignored all the comment cards that people sent in. lol

But the real forte of this movie was the goddam animation it was extremely well done..

So this is what they can do if they have money .... On teh animation part this was quite impressive , even if you dislike CG.

ON the cameo side they crammed almost everything they could but the result wasn't bad ..i would have liked slightly more action but the amount i got was great

If anything this movie made me more hyped for INDEX S3.... going back to railgun S2 animation will be hard ..this is like night and day.

I found the transitions poor. Too many details gets cut out which detracts my enjoyment.

Rather than being too opaque I believe that Evangelion 3.0 suffers partly because the writers removed all the mystique from the setting in favor of serving up all the story/world information in an extremely boring and straightforward fashion.

So Sliver Spoon and The Eccentric Family both seem to play around with the concept of eating something you love and are emotionally attached to. Are their other older series that do this. Doesn't Mermaid Forest toy with this idea as well?

I'm not really sure it's so much "too many details gets cut out" - the movie was perfectly coherent in terms of narrative - but I'd agree that the entire final act was a complete mess.

I mean, it does feel like there's about ten minutes worth of content missing that was supposed to bridge the second and final act, but most of the problem comes from the fact that the, during that whole multi-threaded climax, you never really spent enough time on any of the fields of battle for you to get a good enough grasp of what was going on there, or any sense of the consequence involved.

As natural as it is to blame Yoshino for this kind of thing, this is way beyond a scripting issue. I don't actually think there was any problems with the script (infact, the actual occidental dialogue often came across way snappier and on-point than on TV or even a lot of the novels, though that, rather than overarching narrative, is Yoshino's fish-kettle), but I have to wonder if Nishikiori was being pushed to either keep the length of the movie down, keep the budget under control, or keep to a specific production schedule. Either that, or he just can't direct this kind of content very well. Most the issues are with direction, not with writing.

(Also, on the subject of cameos and all that, I could have honestly done without
Accelerator turning up. For the sake of how brief it was, I'd have much rather have them give the chance for the named Anti-Skill types to be bad-ass for once if they couldn't come up with a good reason for Accelerator to get involved. Or just have Saten hit the thing with her bat.
