I'll play those games in another time. Too much hype will spoil a person.

Will it ever come out?

Freedom Wars.

The war is still raging within.

It being platinums best selling game doesn't hurt either.

Revengeance was probably my favorite game last year, and is probably my favorite platinum game.

Hey guys, now that I've finished P4G, I don't know what to do next. I have three games I'm interested in, I'm unable to pick any of them to start with and pretty much want to play them equally as much. So please help me choose my next game that I will play alongside smash:

Freedom Wars (PSTV)
Soul Sacrifice Delta (PSTV)
Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

I actually want to play Danganronpa, but I have to wait until Sony and Nisa fucking WHITELIST IT!

I played vanilla SS and liked it... not sure whats new in delta. Never played FW or HW.

Danganronpa 1 is great.... skip 2 though.

I've heard the exact opposite far more often. Strange.

Considering I still haven't finished more than one Ace Attorney or 999/VLR I'll probably never get around to any of the other popular VN style games.
What was Pat's criticism of the game again?

Really bad start. (It and Soul Sacrifice are both "Hunter Games" so it's mission based. Soul Sac looks more narrative focused.)

I see. But it does pick up later on? I know some basic stuff about the start of the plot and it sounds incredibly interesting, though I heard Freedom Wars basically stops caring about its narrative after a while and just becomes little more than quest farming.

A lot of the fun parts of the game are unlocked later on.

The story in D2 might be better.... but playing it is worse than D1. Worse minigames, worse navigation. The characters are either significantly better or worse than the D1 cast.

Honestly there is so much unnecessary filler in D2.
Even if there is filler, does it add to people's character development? Do you learn more intresting things about the characters? Or is it just complete fluff?

I didn't like DanganRonpa 1 at all. Made it to the last chapter and just gave up from how bad it was. I hear from a lot of people that 2 is better though. If what you're saying is true, then that's a shame.

No.

There are virtual pets, a terrible navigation system of the gameworld.... you level up by walking a lot.

There are occasional character moments, but they require you have a specific item you can only get through random chance.

Also, the in trial minigames are worse.

There is this one called hangmans gambit where you have to match mobing letters on a screen so you can spell a word.

And also imagine the "climax arguement" in A5.... except you had to play the special stage from sonic to choose paths.

Its not great to play.

Danganronpa 2 has much better cases since, there isn't a super detective a luckster and a genius in the group. Everyone has to pitch in a little to solve the cases. Some of them get a little loopy like Case 5 in part 2.

Also, Persona Q is kicking peoples asses and there are no social links while letting everyone have up to two Personas? I guess Persona 2 fans will be happy.

Danganronpa 1 and 2 are fine.

the only thing i will agree on is that the way they changed panic talk action and the new hangman's gambit are shit

I might be inflating my opinion for D1 because I had nothing else to play back when it came out. Its no where near as good as VLR or any of the AA games.

But D2 just sucks to play. The story is better.... but just playing that game is the fucking worst.

Really? I've been hearing the exact opposite.

I like Freedom Wars but as already said the start is fucking abysmal and the human enemies are awful. Once you get past the first few chapters(code levels) the game becomes much better. The online works pretty well and while there is lag it is not very noticeable

Character development through random chance? Weird mini games? The padding seems really extreme.

I would like more depth in my RPGs. You don't need S-links to have good character interaction and development...

Beetles on floor 3 of Alice in Wonderland = shadow yukiko levels of wrecking. Also, when the 2 persona thing was shown to me... wasn't really thrilled.... but the execution of it is nice.

You don't need to keep switching personas.... they both share one list of moves.

I just wish IT DIDN'T TAKE SO LONG TO LEVEL UP!

It is. I stopped playing it because I hated so much of the padding and minigames, and just watched the rest on youtube. Its not fun.

The worst part of the character development is that not only do you need random items.... you need to acquire them by a certain date or else you can't see it.

I heard the interaction between the characters is good and the development of the new girl is legit sad after you hear her back story and why everything is happening.

Though Persona Q is an RPG in the bluntest of manners. Like the EO series, it's mostly gameplay and dungeon crawling with only a little bit of fluff.

The game is not hard IMO, some enemies just have a lot of health. The first FOEs you run into have a shit load of health and do not do that much damage to my team. It is pretty much just boils down to 4 people attacking while I have one person set aside to heal with the infinite health stone you get in the first floor for 20 mins to kill one.

But still mostly the same lame characters, which was the strongest point of persona 2. At least the p3 characters are good though, but going through the p4 story is gonna be really painful. I do appreciate the no social links and emphasis on dungeon crawling though. Just playing through the first level and it's already way better than Tartarus and the shadow world.

I know, actually it's childs play compared to EOU on expert or EO2 which was just bullshit in some areas. Thoug I do think people are so use to RPG's holding their hand that they forget things.

EO series isn't hard persay. You just don't have to be dumb and take your time.

I might pick it up if it goes on sale then.
The PSP version is way easier than the original.
but the original has lower encounter rate doesn't it?
Ah well, if/when I get a vita then
PSPs are still pretty cheap.

The tamagotchis are completely unnecessary to care about if just you want to finish the game.

You can buy specific items after you get them from the monocoin thing from the vending machine in the convenience store. Look up a FAQ on what each characters like. You get showered with monocoins in this game.

Also, the in trial minigames are worse.
This is the only thing I will agree with you on.

And also imagine the "climax arguement" in A5.... except you had to play the special stage from sonic to choose paths.
I had no problems with the logic dive sections.

Its more or less "why is the logic dive thing even here?" Its not hard or frustrating... its just why am I doing this to piece together info?

The one that really pissed me off was the "improved" hangmans gambit. Also, never knew you could buy event items from the vending machine.

I'm not sure how I feel about Persona Q being heavy on gameplay and low on everything else.

How does the online work anyway?

right now I am kinda mixed on PQ as well, there is a ton of what just feels like grinding.

The online that I have played of Freedom wars is either you set up a lobby or join someone else's and people choose what missions to do from what ever CODE level you are, completing a mission gets you all the same rewards if you did it solo and if you have not unlocked the mission in your own world, you get a token that allows you to skip that mission when it becomes available to you. You have to pick a location at the start of the game and it serves as a faction online. any items or points you donate go towards a grand total for your faction. You can do raids against other factions to steal their resources but I do not think that you get a sentence reduction for it so I only did it once and did not touch it again. Colour wise there is a ton of Character customization but for the most parts the costumes themselves are kinda limited. More become available as you progress through the CODE rankings. You can customize your character's cloths and features at almost any point of the game which is pretty cool.

From what I'm reading nobody can agree on the differences between the two online. The only real noticeable change is the final boss isn't as much of a spike in the remake.

I guess I may as well try out the copy in my Local Video Game Store and if it's too much then I'll wait till I get a Vita

Think I'll be trying out Freedom Wars. Not touching PQ after having spent 85 hours on P4G. That's enough persona for a while.

Thanks everyone.
Once I got past the annoying bits I really liked it. It is my first hunting game so I have no idea how it holds up to other games in the genre.
Buy tearaway!
he has a Vita TV, I think
He can't. Tearaway is not vitaTV compatible.
EDIT: beaten like poor chico

I some what noticed when I was trying them both out. Might just be me then.
I had hard crashes on my PSP whenever a cinematic happened. YMMV, I've seen other people have played it that way.
It doesn't seem to be performing well when I was trying it out for some reason. I didn't have any hard crashes happened to me tho.

Is it me... or does leveling up feel like it takes way too long?

well when your game is entirely based around dungeon crawling they can't have you just blow through it, I guess. the amount the XP requirements steps up each level does seem high though, level 18 sub personas that the FOEs drop are getting almost no XP off the guys in the first labyrinth

Do you know when your mains get Ma- moves? (attack all enemies?)

That how it is in most EO games Can you do missions in PQ? Most of the time in EO you can skip grinding just by having a good party layout and doing most of the side quest on a floor since that gives tone of EXP.

So have any of you read Girls the Wild's Manga?

A summary.

Wilds high, it has a history of 42 years as a fighting specialist all girls private highschool meant solely for the elite. The place Wilds-League is held, the most popular event in the country, the only place in the world where teenage girls have brutal fights with their lives. This year has been changed into a mixed gender school. The only male student- Song Jae Gu, has been granted a full 3-year scholarship regardless of grades. Being someone who had to spend every moment working or taking care of his two younger brothers, he accepted. However, the scholarship was granted with the sole condition he does not leave.
