Absolutely. I did my first test level with the intention of making it less difficult for beginners (I don't require you to even use the run button to complete the level) but also have something for experts/speed runners (run and bop sequences). Perhaps the enemy density is harder than I initially expected.

My third stage is a go, I've always found the numerous scrolling airship stages a bit of a weak spot in SMB3 so I decided I'd try my hand at it (in the NSMBU style mind you).

Yep, it's an airship stage all right, I tried to create a little something with the use of verticality, like when you're at the lowest altitude you can see vines and mushroom platforms, that said it still looks a bit odd, vines just hangin' there and all.

Now that I've got that out the way I've got to try some of the numerous stages in this thread.

I really liked the moving cannons and how it switched from airships to those mushroom platforms at some point. Didn't like those spike shooting flying spinies, you can hardly see those spikes.

Haha yeah. I'm a hardcore Mario fan though. I started realize the levels I've been making have been like easier special world levels vs. something super tough. Going to have to reign it way in

I started 4-5 hours ago. I had to force myself to stop since I could do this all night. This game has me hooked. I spent my entire time working on the same level. I'm not even sure if it's fun to play, but I'm still pretty proud of it. I won't upload it until I have all the tools and it's completely finished though.

It's gonna be a fun weekend.

I'm pretty disappointed in the Miiverse integration, I expected a special community like in MarioVsDK and a link to directly play the levels.
Instead it's just a sea of messages with the level code and no direct link.
You can't actually browse Miiverse and launch the game from Miiverse.

Back to analysing NSMB DS and NSMB2 I guess....
Why the hell is this so hard to find the maps of NSMB2 online?
 
Finished my first level. Tried to remake the first level of LIttle Nemo Dream Master but it kinda sucks. Y'all can try it out if y'all want. Little Nemo Mario Master ID: A04E-0000-0018-DC1D

It looked a lot better in my head before I started lol.

Just finished my last level. When you unlock the sub-level it opens a world full of possibilities. This one is way longer than my previous maps and it mixes ground with caves.

I called it "A Mario adventure".

Also there are three 1-up mushrooms in the level, let's see if you can get them all. And don't forget to tell your impressions ;)

Hey GAF did a nice simple starter course! You can get a total of 6 one ups through some tricks, coins and the flag pole, try and get them all! You can't really die except for the end jump, but it requires a triple jump and some wall jumping to get through the course. Also some simple tasks will get you 1-ups if you execute them correctly. I wanted to make a nice easy one to start!

I've got to admit they do blend into the cloudy background somewhat, I could probably have done without the lower one near the start as I imagine he'll cruise by almost stealthily.
Granted that was the plan but right at the start wasn't the best idea on my end.

Oh come on! Only 4 people played my level and nobody has managed to get past the first bloody section let alone beat it. Come on GAF. You're better than this. It's not THAT hard. Please give this one some time and don't give up that quickly.

I love the actual concept behind this course, I never even thought of trying wings on a trampoline.
Not afraid to admit I died a lot even though the stage is short, never before have I been happier to see a super star, except then it made me unwieldy and I kept slipping off near the end.

Really I think the main hurdle to overcome here is a mechanical one where Mario seems to lose all the air he's about to gain from a bounce when struck by a stray spiny spike, I think that was the cause of most of my deaths as it threw me off.

You do now. But there are some really uncomfortable sections. Like climbing the blocks over the trampoline or getting through that piranha plant pipes (had to duck jump to get through there).

The duck jump is intentional.
:p

The blocks over the trampoline are meant to be difficult to climb up, though you can skip the trampoline entirely to make it easier.

I've been spending quite some experimenting and making levels, but so far I am not receiving any new items at all. How long should this take?

Not a fan of the level ID codes, wish we could search by user names/friends too.

Simple but effective in how you used the enlarged enemies to create that sense of scale for the Pikmin.
I didn't actually know you could be a trio of pikmin, such a neat skin.

So while playing I was wondering why I couldn't see the trajectory of Mario's jumps. Is that something you unlock later on?

tried to make a level focused on piranha plants in pipes. if you're having trouble with them just try to move as quick as you can and they're a lot less likely to trigger. couple secrets as well just for funzies

The level I really want to show someone isn't quite done -- I'll have to wrap it up after work today, so it won't be another eight hours or so. I might as well share the two I've done already though.

F6DA-0000-0016-3AD4 -- The Spring's the Thing: NSMBU, using only the initial unlocks.

3B43-0000-0016-FFC2 -- Big Trouble: SMB, and you can probably guess at the gimmick here.

I don't know that these levels are super exciting, but I think I got a reasonable difficulty balance here. The really good stuff is still to come, now that I've unlocked everything.
 
My first level as well: 9331-0000-0018-6C3B

I hope to make more of a mine themed level once I get more tools unlocked (conveyer belts in particular), decided for a cavern theme instead. The level's gimmick was a result of the limited obstacles available (and my next level idea is based on that same limitation).

Its actually kinda funny how I came up with the concept. It was an accident. When I put wings on the spring I assumed all it would do is make the spring jump up in place. I was trying to do something with that. But when I saw it just fly to the right I just thought "I can make a whole level out of that"

And yeah I knew that star would mess people up like that. It did with me. Was tempted to do something else there instead. But I think it made for a nice conclusion to the stage in the end and gives players something else to think about with their bounces at the end.

My first level; it's a Castle Themed Stage!

Not exactly a long stage, and is a bit of a combination of Easy/Intermediate difficulty. Hope you like it and isn't horrible! I cannot wait until i unlock the SMW tileset. Once that's unlocked, I'm going ham.
