Besides it being flaky one what time it records, besides the hacked and bugged times, and besides the avalanche of boring Steve times I just realized something else. People are abusing the hit detection. If the game isn't running at 60 fps on a 60 Hz monitor strange things can happen, like falling through floors and walls and hazards. Looking at some scores you can notice people have intentionally made their game run poorly and repeatedly do runs on the off chance they get it to glitch in their favor. Worst part about it, you can't really prove a time was gotten this way because theres no replays. Bugged 0.00 times and hacked times can be removed but this? Nothing can really be done.
The downside of PC Gaming is it can never be as neat and as controlled as consoles. But oh well. I could always just compete with gaffers. The least I could do is ruin MNC's day.
Just had this happen to me a few times as well. Not sure what the cause is.Hatchet Man said:In Hell practically every time I'm riding a moving platform I die for no reason anyone know what's up with that?
Theres a few leaderboards and a recurring theme. I'll describe a few and you could check for yourself if you don't believe me.Wallach said:What makes you think that, exactly? As many complaints as I have about this game (and it's more than a few), I don't know if I buy this one.
Drkirby said:Yes. You have tested to make sure it works already on your PC though, right, I think the PS3 version doesn't work on all computers. 360 version would have no problems though.

2-4X Blown: It's a stage where you are suppose to ride fan winds up to Bandage girl. The #1 time is 2.32s done with Captain Viridian. What happens with Captain Viridian on that stage is that you reverse gravity and simply fall up there. It takes roughly 2 and a half seconds just to fall that distance, not giving you time to land underneath Bandage Girl's platform, reorientate yourself rightside up and work your way around actually to bandage girl. The platform she is on is a good 5 tiles wide so it is impossible to simply wrap around to bandage girl while falling. You must stop and reorientate yourself. This shows in the leaderboards by the next closest leaderboard time being roughly 6 seconds with the same characte, taking 4 seconds to work their way around. The only possible explanation for 2.32 seconds is he simply fell straight through the platform directly into Bandage Girl.
3-13X Black Circle: This is a stage where there is 4 saws going around in a circle with you trapped inbetween two of them. You must keep up without going too fast or too slow and there is no opportunity's to shortcut your way around until there is a gap in the wall. If you check the times most of the top records are Steve because he can simply break the walls and shortcut that way. There is however a few records with Naija. Naija has the fastest burst of speed in this game and is the best for going through solid walls when hit detection fails. Naija has a record of 4 seconds when it takes the game at least 12 seconds for the saws to move to a gap in the wall. Really, the only explanation is Naija went through the saws and walls and this had to be done intentionally as there are multiple Naija records on there.
4-1X: Just play this stage and check the leaderboards, I can't even begin to describe this one. The same person who has the fastest Naija record in Black Circle also has it on this stage. He beat the stage in 4 seconds which if you know this stage it is absolutely impossible unless you were going straight through the walls.
And trust me, there is no shortage of examples for me to pick on.

ArjanN said:Yeah, that's because it really more like a puzzle game, IMO most of the levels are more about knowing what to do, than the execution.
That's true but it's still possible to have a secure leaderboard. See: TrackmaniaHolepunch said:I should really stop trying to challenge the global leaderboards. A developer who cares about such a thing could look into validating replay files before accepting the score.

They've really done it.
Dark World Iron Man achievements are IN! By the looks of it, several new hidden achievements as well. They might be bugged right now, I'm pretty sure it should've given me my Dark World 1 achievement.
