Why "Super Nintendo World" instead of N64, Game Cube or Switch World?
On some level Nintendo realizes that SNES is their best console but they refuse to bring it back.
The SNES HW probably would cost Nintendo less than $50 a unit and they could bring it back with digital games that don't have SNES cart size limitations or cost overhead.
Game dev costs for SNES games would be low to the point that reopening it as a modern platform would be incredibly disruptive in a universe where game dev costs double each generation.
Rolling that back by reopening a proprietary platform that costs less to develop for and doesn't port easily to PC would drop MS' stock price overnight.
MS has no legacy Xbox platform to roll back to.
Feels like in terms of strategy Nintendo avoids playing chess when they can float by with checkers.

Correct. A Direct without games should really temper down any expectations at all. Just the diehards that want to travel to a theme park, is all that should have any interest at all. I do appreciate that they are managing the expectations.
