When games are in high demand Nintendo's servers always take a hit and I sure I got school the next day.

So it looks like I'll be going with the physical version.

I wish I could have both. More places should give you a digital copy when you buy the box, that way you can have the best of both worlds.

I just can't fathom why they'd restrict online for Smash Run, outside technical issues. If anything, it's probably a mode that's more suited to online rather than local than standard matches, due to its focus on the player's individual actions.

Though if it was due to difficulty in implantation; there might be a small chance it could be fixed in a patch.

Has anyone put together any definitive lists of the unlockable characters movesets? (Bowser jr., Dunk hunt, dr Mario, dark pit, Lucina, etc) that would be super helpful!

There are so many custom moves, and the unlocks are apparently random, that I wouldn't expect such a list for a little while now. As fanatical as Smash fans are, these things still take time.

I have been thinking over it too. I could download it immediately at midnight and have it ready for when I wake up in the morning, or I could wait to go out and get the physical in the evening.
Since Nintendo servers tend to get hammered when a big update or game is out and I don't want to deal with frustrating trouble like that, I'll probably take a physical cart.

I know I'm going for the digital release at midnight. I did it for Animal Crossing and didn't have too much trouble, so I don't think the servers are going to go down or anything. Plus Smash is a perfect game to have digital on a handheld.

Will be getting the physical copy of Smash Wii U, though, since it'll be nice to have that as a disc.

It's technical issues. Sakurai's already wary of the game/3DS's reliance on WiFi.

I would've preferred a new Adventure Mode myself.

I mean if it survived the Pokémon launch, I think most people will be able to download it just fine at midnight.
