OOT: Some people have been encouraged me to start playing XenoBlade, I would like to update on that notion. I just started playing the game and now I'm at Colony 9. Any pro-tips would be nice. I'm already aware of skill tree, arts, equipments and basic things.
Heath, read my spoiler-free LTTP here -- I have lots of tips to maximize enjoyment of the game. I'm currently lv. 60 in the game. Xenoblade Chronicles is EXCELLENT.

-If you skip sidequests and lots of exploring you can beat it in about 50 hours.
-Also you only need to be about level 78 to beat the final boss.
-Make sure to change your characters equipment about every 30 minutes from all the drops you get, with your active party getting priority.
-Buy books at any merchants to increase the levels of your skills. Don't worry about buying them all at once. You can come back at any time and do so.
-For enemies that resist physical attacks Melia and her ether attacks are very useful. Upgrading her bolt all the way is a good idea.
-Riki, Shulk, and Reyn make a good take team for a majority of battles. Especially if Riki and Shulk healing spells are upgraded.
-Riki, Melia, and Sharla make a good team as well for enemies you need to defeat with ether.
-Make sure to keep tabs on the skill tree and the skills you choose to select from others member. Early on I would say to prioritize anything dealing with XP. Will help in the long run.
-Make sure to go back to Colony 9 once in awhile to make gems. Having strength gems, ether gems, and numerous other ones that fits roles can help fill in level gaps.

I think that just about covers everything I was wondering about when I started.

Wait what is a UK publication doing posting US opinions on the demo (I hate this Americanization of things*). Target, Platinum member, at that point it should be obvious and pen-noted with a [This is America-Ed]. He should try being in Europe where it was seemingly random or there was an obscure criteria to fulfil. I'd say that is more annoying than the "you didn't tick the box you've never needed to tick" that NOA pulled because at least there you knew what you did "wrong".

Also the feature was posted so late that the demo is now out if you have an NNID (which is not a problem in America as US, Canada and Mexico all have identical content from what I can tell...). Must have been a crap week for readers features...

*-Yes the US spelling is ironic :p Another example is Bayonetta 2 for how it messed up Amazon UK. They seriously thought every copy of the solos game came with 1 when in fact it was only the special edition. After customer services lies and too long stalling they did upgrade everyone who ordered when the description said includes 1 free of charge.

Between their joke of a Hyrule Warriors review and this "story", respect for Metro is in rapid decline
It is a readers feature not written by Metro. As for joke or controversial reviews. Happens from time. Apparently they gave Sonic 3 a bad review back in 1994 (in their Digitiser days).

Hey, how are the controller customization options? I liked the ability to change all the buttons in Brawl so hopefully this is in Sm4sh?
You mean all the buttons but change movement to the D-pad (I know it sucks but that is my choice to make, not yours Sakurai!)

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Damn, why is the Balloon Fight remix so amazing?

Is the Balloon Fight stage even fun? I've seen like 0 footage of it outside the Direct.

"D"

I'm extremely insecure with how much f2p mobile games are encroaching on Nintendo
I can't seem to find gameplay footage of Megaman's custom specials. Can anyone drop a link please?

Are you talking about this incredible medley? Balloon Fight is my favorite NES game, straight up, so this is aural heaven to me.

The stage itself looks great, too. Especially the Final Destination form -- the platform is an island elevated high above the water, so you still get the proper sense of place.

You can use the map to quick travel.

Occasionally somebody does not realize this until they're a good ways into the game, and their reaction when they find out is usually hilarious.

Masked Man

I said wow
My win rate just dropped 8%. At least now I know when all the hardcore players are online!

-don't do all the quests, unless you actually know what you're doing (aka looking at a guide, but why would you do that)
-skip travel, don't forget to use this
-stop using Shulk/Reyn/Sharla as soon as you can use someone else, it's the classic noob trap team (though you're not even at that point yet lol)

Just don't get too hung up on sidequests, and you should be fine. What I do is accept every sidequest I see and then ignore it. If I finish it passively, great, free exp. If not, well then whatever, no big deal.

Also be wary about fighting things more than 2 or 3 levels higher than you, especially early on. A single level makes a big difference in this game.

I mean yeah, it isn't too hard to figure out, but it's still a huge spoiler.

The fact that his identity is a spoiler is kind of a spoiler to me. Because of that, I'm pretty sure it's
the guy from the intro that isn't Dunban
. I don't think I'll ever go back and finish it, so feel free to confirm if I'm wrong/right.

IntelliHeath

As in "Heathcliff"
There's really no tips needed because Xenoblade is extremely easy. Except that if you care about 100% every sidequest, then look up a guide because there are a few point-of-no-returns. This is my only annoyance with Xenoblade, because it works against the rest of the game being so free and one of the few RPGs you don't need to have a guide attached to your hip to enjoy. But none of the side-quests are that rewarding so no biggie.

Just explore everywhere, and you'll easily level up. And there's no penalty in dying, so just play at your own pace.

Got it! I'm very hopeful that I would able to finish Xenoblade before Smash 3DS came out. I'm doubtful that I would. I only have 10 and half days to go.

I hope you have a lot of free time. You are going to need it.

Haha, I hope so.

Thanks! I subbed it when I need the advices again! :)

Yep, I have heard a lot of stories about quick travel. I was surprised that we can use quick travel at early in the game. I heard that some people didn't even find out until middle of the game or almost end of the game.

I see that the game might forced us to use other characters at the point of the game right? I don't think it would be problem for me since I love to use all characters since its my habit for all JRPG.

hell yeah

I bet that you are happy now :p

Yeah, my goal is completing the main story. I already learned my lesson. Borg just handed my ass over to me despite that we are at same level. :p

I don't see the hypocrisy in his comment.

In fact, all he mentions is how it's not easy to transplant data from Melee, he says nothing about characters. I imagine that was in response perhaps to the various Melee stages that weren't brought back for Brawl and now 3DS. Or he's just saying he couldn't just lift everyone from Melee to Brawl and then to 3DS, explaining why some were cut.

http://nintendoeverything.com/more-...n-sounding-voices-difficulty-with-melee-data/ He's talking about characters here.

Anyone else kinda iffy about the music selection in the 3DS version? The new songs are absolutely fantastic but there aren't a whole lot of them in this version. Most tracks in here seem to be reused from Brawl/Melee...

Anyone else feel generally confused by what the crowd responds to in the 3DS version? I spent an entire match getting my ass kicked by a friend and they absolutely loved me. At one point they started cheering me directly after my death.

Its always been pretty random as far as I can recall.

The more people play this game the better!

The only tip I can give is that side quests that will eventually disappear if you progresss through the story have a clock/marker icon next to them.

All others can be done at any time.

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
How much are you doing?
I got to 50 and didn't feel there was enough worthwhile content to play for that long.
I started playing this back on the Wii so basically I've played it in chucks with massive breaks in between. I last left the game just before
Valak Mountain
so I'd already played quite a chunk of that 100 hours before. Now I've finally decided to knuckle down and beat it, but since I've been doing the side quest I thought I may as well do as many as possible (using a guide of course). My new quest list is rather short so I've managed to keep on top of them. Currently at
the Mechonis Field
. So I have been making progress. My fear was Smash may spoil the game somehow like Mother 3 in Brawl but the trailer for Shulk showed nothing that I didn't know.

Man, just looked up some Yoshi footage and he is looking mighty fine. I used him a lot in Brawl, but he's seems pretty buffed this time around.

aMSa is using Yoshi in Smash 4 now and here's what he said:

I use Yoshi on smash4 now

He is Amazing...!

Soooo I imagine we're going to get some good Yoshi footage at some point, presuming he records anything similarly to what he did with him vs Captain Jack when he was playing Greninja.

I don't know, but I was playing the demo as Megaman and I used a charged side smash on Mario, he sent it back witb the cape, killed me and the crowd started cheeeing for Megaman. It was amazing.

Sometimes the crowd chants for characters that aren't in the game. It makes sense that they have a greater affinity for the dead.

It's great isn't it? I have yet to say anyone who is an outright stink bag. So far it seems like everyone has a chance to truly shine at the moment. Of course even 6 months from now could paint a different story but I remember Brawl had some major red flags on day one with characters like Link, Zelda, and Captain Falcon.

Also even if infinite combos get found out making someone broken we already know they'll get patched out in no time!

As for the crowd chants how much would the internet explode if someone randomly stumbled upon a Mewtwo or Ridley chant?

Ahh ok that definitely makes sense for all of that.
My running through the game as well was mainly just in case smash spoiled anything.
