Yeah, I could see this as totally possible. It's unprecedented, but it would make enough sense to distinguish between a different character and just a different costume, even if the moves don't change.

At the same time though, I don't see much justification in keeping the moves exactly the same. Altering knockback values and attack speeds even just a little could make the character feel a lot different, and I hope they do go for the 'clone' route with her (and Pittoo if he's really in. The way Chrom was handled makes me think Dark Pit is less likely. Both were teased, but now we know one isn't in.)
 
I'm still reading through the last few pages of the old thread, but something did come up that I'm curious about.

Sal responded to the inaccuracy of the announcement and how his source was allegedly connected to Namco Bandai. What if there was a switch: an intentional misinformation campaign to weed out the leaker? Just a thought...

Being very generous! I dont want to get my hopes up though. I mean yeah i want to be excited for new characters today but we already had 2 FE characters, why 2 more when there are so many other nintendo characters out there with unique abilities?
 
Ah, figured a new OT would be in order. At any rate, really glad we got a magic user for an FE rep. Wasn't expecting Lucina to be a straight clone character though, kinda figured they would incorporate spear attacks from her Great Lord class.

She has a newcomer size slot on the mobile site. Someone from thread 9 gave a good reasoning for the differences between desktop and official.

Notice all the pictures from the website that say "newcomer"?

The fact that her small picture isn't labeled as "newcomer" comes down to one simple fact:

Layout and design.

They have a fixed grid with the character display on their website.

Every newcomer spot is three times (or two times?) the width of a regular spot.
Since it would look fucking stupid if there were two empty spots next to two new newcomers they decided to give either Lucida or Robin a regular square spot in the grid.
I bet t his will be corrected once the next veteran is announced.

Please don't let the hype disable your ability to think straight.

Considering the arguments about character select screen "fitting", I see no reason this can't be considered.
 
Marth doesn't even need a wig to be more sexy feminine than Lucina.
 
The entire leak was just fabricated by sakurai because he knew that whoever was in a reveal trailer with captain falcon would be immediately overshadowed, so he needed to fabricate a complicated set of events where our expectations would be completely subverted /tinfoil hat


They're still completely overshadowed by falcon, but it still somewhat worked.

I want Sakurai to reveal 2 years from now when Iwata Laughs is resurrected and the Wii U is a resounding success that he
was actually the Gematsu leaker.

Where is she on the character screen? Come now, we barely know anything about her, except that all of her moves are the same as Marth's.

Luckily (sorry for Ashley fans), she became a AT so maybe there's a slight chance for something to happen. Though, I'd take Syrup as my first choice but I understand the likeliness of that happening so yea any other Wario rep would be nice.

I think the WiiU version still has to be cleaned up a bit. Imo, Palutena also did not look as refined as the other reveals.

Judging by her moves shown you're probably right, imo but I'm happy she's in! By doing this they probably saved themselves for trying to create another set of customizable moves.

She has a newcomer box on the mobile site. She only has a veteran sized box on the desktop site because it's easier to sort the three new characters so they're all together when it's that way.
 
I'm suprised RAYMAN TROPHY isn't a thread. That's pretty exciting (albeit ambiguous) news.

I'm expecting most of Brawl's veterans to return, and maybe one or two more newcomers (at least Shulk).
 
It's great to see so much FE love, but I'm most excited about Captain Falcon!

He looks amazing~ :D

I'll make sense of who's who RE: Awakening characters when I get back from work.

But mobile version is same length as Robin's banner as I heard.

That never mattered before, and it'll be messed up as soon as another character is confirmed.
