Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Miiverse Update Thread XVI

I used to think Ness was really strong in 64 (like, wayyy back when. A long time ago I thought this). When I checked the tiers, apparently he's pretty low. And I think he's fallen since then. But the thing about 64, even the bad characters are pretty good and fun. In Melee if just feels hopeless to try out Kirby or Mewtwo, and likewise for Falcon or Link in Brawl.

I've mained Falcon in Brawl since it came out.
I hope to be rewarded for my loyalty in the new games.

This one speaks for itself because it'll be the one where everything (leaks, release, rosters, the entire game) will be revealed.

Also, we'll probably get the Japan 3DS OT soon.

Haha, or that. So glad I missed whatever happened there.
Never Forget The Old Page 300+!

Basically new here. But I came for the smash. How do people think Shulk's 5 modes get changed? Do you cycle through them with B and then you have different specials or is each direction a different mode? It would be kind of tedious to go from Mode 3 to Mode 2 and having to go through all the other modes...

Slightly slower than XIV, but not by much.

You all are insane.

I've heard it was closer to the first one, but you
can move around while they cycle.

I hope so too. I've recently started trying to pick him up as a 64 main, but mainly he's a character I play in Melee as a secondary. Even though I'm not good with him, he's just so much fun. Would be nice if he's good again.

Stupid smash demo, now I'm so tired. Need to go on a jog/walk. Brb!

It's now thursday in japan, I'm expecting leaks within 12 hours.

Who would be the one "realistic" character to shock you if they were part of the rumored Final Five?

For me it'd be if Doshin was the oft-teased "always someone bigger" character.

It depends what level you're playing at. When i just play with friends i mained kirby in melee and was way the best in my group. Those tier lists are based on a specific style of playing the game. For most people they need not apply (though obviously going online you will face people who will probably trash you).

If you're just playing with friends i wouldn't worry too much about that stuff.

Isaac or Paper Mario. Paper Mario doesn't seem likely because of Bowser Jr being in (but there is a paper mario stage...), he'd have an amazing moveset. And Isaac because Golden Sun is the greatest game of all time, but so many new sword-users and I think he will be an assist trophy again unfortunately.

Are there supposed credible hints regarding the identities of the final characters that may or may not exist?

I've seen people do more in-depth breakdowns...the way the roster's set up, etc.

Personally I think Chorus Kids are the only remaining character, in the 3DS Version at least, and Rhythm Heaven is the supposed missing stage.

I just mean based on the feel of the characters, and what more fundamental options they have. You're right, among lower level player groups the skill level disparities tend to be pretty high, so it often doesn't matter. Against people with similar skill though, you start to really feel the weaknesses in those characters and get a little frustrated, especially when you don't have in depth knowledge of the character's gimmicks and matchups.

Funny, with the demo impressions, it's like "everyone is good", maybe not Mega Man.
My guess is that they really feel different, which makes them interesting.
