They should've just been cool and gone with pink hair. Everyone would know exactly where it would be from at that point.

Just curious - is Gaur Plains not a scrolling stage? The Shulk reveal made it look like it was. Maybe it only scrolls in the Wii U version?
It is just a large stage.

Mama Mia!!

What Alts are you planning on maining?

For characters that I actually plan on using:

Mario: Brown&White alt-- WAIT. IT'S GONE! NOOOO. Ugh, Waluigi alt, I guess...
Luigi: Waluigi alt
Yoshi: Despite liking the Purple/Black/Dark Blue alts, I'll likely just use the base colors again
Rosalina: Sea Green alt
Diddy Kong: Purple/White&Yellow alt
Shiek: Black alt
Toon Link: Classic Link alt
Samus: Dark Suit alt
Marth: Black alt
Robin: Base colors
Lucina: Base colors
Kirby: Green alt
Little Mac: Yellow alt
Pikachu: Green band/Choice Band alt
Lucario: Base colors
Shulk: Black&White alt

Fierce Deity Link has a dark tunic the color of the FD's armor rather than the white under-tunic he normally sports beneath the armor in Majora's Mask.

It's a reskin rather than a new model, so it looks a little different, but the facial markings are still there, as are the white hair and eyes.

It's the last one on the right.

What the heck is with Luigi and identical costumes?

Also, remember these may not be all of them, Little Mac has 16 in total and the scans only showed 8.

This.

At the very least, why wouldn't Luigi get the same Open NES treatment as Mario?

Also, would it be that hard to put a wife beater on Donkey Kong to have a DK Jr. alt or give Diddy a backwards cap and shades for his DKC2 end-of-level animation?

With custom moves being unlockable, I'm still holding out hope there are more unique costumes unlockable as well.

It'd be pretty cool if there are extra taunts and win poses to collect like JOJO.

anyway who gives a fuck, im so excited to hear Link has been buffed!

about time the GOAT took his crown in the Smash tier, he's always been such a wuss

Pretty sure the Luigi thing is a mistake, and all of the Pokemon are really solid except Lucario (I'd say overall Pokemon has the best alts really).

And the Toon Link ones look great.

Pikachu, Charizard, and Greninja have their shiny forms.

Isn't Smash Bros.'s Jigglypuff shiny by default as well?

1st Place (Victory Music!)

Notable Appearences
Metroid (1986)
Super Metroid (1994)
Metroid Fusion (2002)
Metroid Prime (2002)
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007)
Metroid: Other M (2010)
And nobody was surprised. Hope we see an "honorable mentions" list for newcomers who didn't make the top five but weren't listed yet.

Also, you forgot Metroid Prime Pinball. :-P

Not quite.

Pikachu:
By the way, even the red-fur Pikachu isn't really shiny. The red and green fur Pikachu exist ever since the original Smash Bros., which was before shinies.

They are most likely a reference to Pokémon Stadium, where Pokémon's colours changed slightly based on their nickname.

Charizard:

Notice the yellow-ish belly, which none of the dark-ish Charizards have, and more importantly the red inner wings, which all seem to be lacking.

Greninja:

Black with a redder tongue. We got a dark blue one with a picker tongue. Actually, this one is just like the green Lucario. Similar colour placement with the actual shiny, but different colours.

Now, obviously, these are intentional nodes to the shiny colourings. I find it quite interesting that they chose not to include the actual palette swaps when it would have been so easy. I'm really curious what actually affected the decision, because that was the case in Melee and Brawl as well.

Pretty sure that's not a true combo.

Remember, CPUs are easy combo fodder, never believe anything unless it's both human players because the CPUs don't do shit.

...Unless of course it's teching grounded meteor smashes 99% of the time. THAT they can do apparently, but DI-ing out of a combo? Now that's the tricky bit.
