Yeah, it all started when AT&T was doing something to a box about a month and a half ago. Internet went out for a week. Then when they fixed it, our signal decides to go down randomly. And in most cases, the signal will just stop altogether.BotoxAgent said:it's weird how ur connection goes up and down like that. Anyway GGs. The Moe is strong with you .

I don't know where you find them either? I just know it barely works.AZ Greg said:I'm not sure where everyone gets those hit box pics, so can someone post Makoto's AA punch move. I don't know what it's called but it's the one where she stays in place and does it. Jab version?

And I think DJ can use both his ultras with the set-up.

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=73045 SF4 Stick non TE.
Which is better for the cash in the long-run? I'm sort-of leery about Mad Catz. but for $50, if the stick is trustworthy and good I'm thinking of splurging on it just so I can see if I can adjust to a fight stick.
However, the Pad has been my main thought/thinking-of-buying because a) I wouldn't mind a good 2D/Saturn-style pad and b) It's cheap ($40 compared to $100 for a Stick generally).
So yeah, has anyone in this thread tried both? Are they reliable? Do I have to worry about the parts breaking? Do I have to replace them constantly?

Cerrius said:Speaking from personal experience, avoid the Fightstick SE unless you plan to mod it.
The buttons started going wonky on me the first day I got it and the stick wouldn't register the up left direction.
If you want a beginner's stick but don't plan to mod I suggest the Hori EX2.
riceandbeans said:I've got the Mad Catz Fight Pad and I'm not too happy with it. It's been over a month, I've tried to break it in but no progress. There's constantly missing diagonals in my jumps and inputs. SFIV is lenient with the inputs, but with any other game, the controller's been a problem. You're probably better off with the stick. Modding it is simple, just detach and attach your new part.
I think the timing is really strict.stabicron7 said:Hmm I might have to go into the lab and check that out, granted it won't be all that useful if it does work but no less useless than his j.mpx2 setup at least.
Edit: Initially it doesn't seem like you can, seems to be lack of charge time that's the issue. I wonder if you have gdlk execution you could get it off j.hp,s.cl.hp xx NMB. Personally I can't seem to pull it off, but I seem to remember hearing somewhere that you can't cancel into an ultra anyways..
j HP, HP, U1 works but the timing is pretty strict. You can't really hitconfirm it.XenoRaven said:Chun can do it into Kikosho off of j HK, j HP, and nj HP. Maybe more. Haven't tested them all. Haven't tested into Hosenka either. I think it's a pretty common thing. Especially for a really deep jump in.
AZ Greg said:I'm not sure where everyone gets those hit box pics, so can someone post Makoto's AA punch move. I don't know what it's called but it's the one where she stays in place and does it. Jab version?
Yeah. I know with Kikosho you have to buffer the Ultra motion inside the HPs or HK, then you have to land and hit it immediately or else it drops. Can't think of a situation where you'd actually get a chance to do it though unless you got a stun and wanted to show off, or had no meter.Hitokage said:j HP, HP, U1 works but the timing is pretty strict. Don't cancel TP into Ultra. I mean, you can- but you don't gain any additional properties (esp. not the ability to combo into it). If you just want a purple flash, go for it.dragonballjoseph said:I think the timing is really strict.
And now that you mention the cancel, I think it's possible. You can cancel into ultra with teleport. So I wonder if you can do a st.fierce xx teleport xx ultra (works for both).
SmokeMaxX said:And finally, I'm particularly fond of the j. mp x2 into Ultra setup. People say that noone jumps in on Bison after he gets Ultra 1, but I find even really good players will jump if you set them up for it.

Generally, most people have difficulty from the right side. Just practice and it'll get better.VoteForPedro said:So I just bought a stick and it's been really hard to unlearn my pad muscle memory.
I went from 3000 pp down to 900:lol
Is there any way to learn using the fightstick without making me want to cry?
It also doesn't help that I'm trying out Chun Li...
Also for some weird reason my execution is a lot better when I'm facing left than the other way around.
Complete opposit for me. I can execute everything from the right side (except guiles Ultra1), but I am having problems with 2xQCF or HCF from left. FADC to Ultra is a cakewalk if I am on the right, but impossible if I am on the left. I am right-handed btw.dragonballjoseph said:Generally, most people have difficulty from the right side. And I wouldn't jump to rank when getting your stick, try playing with friends or so. Also, go to training mode with Ryu and practice the FADC into ultra until you get it perfectly everytime from both sides. This helps you with doing the DP and QCF motions as well as assist you in mastering the FADC. You should get it in no time.
