Well, I'm playing 3rd Strike on GGPO since my xbox is fucked and I don't have $100 to fix it right now.

Carmen Sandiego Q is still amazing and Dud's ducking is beautiful. Short Swing Blow actually working blows my mind. I keep trying to use SF4 combos though and I can't parry for shit anymore :lol

Can someone explain ranked mode BP/PP to me? I get the general idea, I'm just curious abut one specific. I just reached 5000BP w/ Guile. As soon as I did I went on a mini-losing streak and dropped under 5000, but if I recall correctly, I'm losing a lot more points for a loss and gaining less for a win as a result. Am I permanently a "B" even though I dropped back under 5000BP?

I think I got 1BP out of a match that would have given me 30-something just ten minutes earlier. And my PP are about the same. I'm not a points-junkie, but it sucks if I'm now being graded more harshly now as a "B" rank even after dropping back down. So I could go on a bad losing streak, drop back down to 2000-3000BP and still be a grade B? Who came up w/ this?

GGPO was fucking up bad today. near unplayable lag in some matches. Between that and my rust, I couldn't even parry fireballs :lol

Also, the rarest possible outcome happened in our first game, the double double:

That's why I have a back up 360. Actually I'm currently using my back up because I brought my other 360 on a trip and when I got back the disc tray wouldn't stay closed anymore. I close it, it pops back open. =\

Actually I love the avatar. If I'm salty about anything, it's that I lack the creaticity or knowledge of how to even make one.

Hey, that HAV guy is a total scrub. He called out 2dTony once so 2d challenged him to a moenymatch and he wimped out like a little bitch. Seems like it's the same story with Jewelman too.

Jewel's goin to quakecon, so I assume HAV is too (that's the tourney referred to i guess?) I'd love to moneymatch HAV if he's done runnin.

I don't know what that thread is on SRK, so if someone could just copy and paste this post on there that would be awesome, thx.

In other words its HAV being HAV like I said earlier? Except he still deems it fit to try and be elitist to everyone with a join date later than his lol. I guess that the only way he feels superior now days.

I am loving honda. I feel like I'm cheaing on my beloved Chun but Honda has so many strengths where she has weaknesses. (and weaknesses where she has strengths) but it's so much fun and makes a lot of previously frustrating matchups and situations open up.

There are a lot of balrog players locally too so it's kinda fun being able to ultra through their dash punches and RH jump ins. Tick throw ochio setups are always fun too. :lol

I know I told Threi earlier that I hate deejay and quit him, but something about him keeps luring me in. I think it's strictly the short hop and cross ups.

Still, it seems like you'd really have to be a deejay "specialist" to get anywhere with him :/ and I'm already spread too thin across the roster.

Are you doing Ex scissors?

Maybe you are touching down while going from back to forward, and then when pressing back again to start charging, the game reads it as a shoryuken.

The game is super lenient with the input, and it seems that dragon punch moves have all the priority in the interpretation.

- Rufus (same as above)
- Chun-Li due to lack of experience against her
- Seth (same excuse)
- Ibuki

I used to have no clue what to do against Bison either, but it's not that bad for me anymore after spending some time practising that match-up. Instead, he's been replaced by Juri and even after a few sessions against good ones, Dhalsim (or mine at least) still feels pretty vulnerable against her no matter what the range is between the both of 'em. Especially having a bit of trouble dealing with her fireballs, because you can't really fierce punch her as easily as other fireball characters from long-range, and it seems she has quick enough recovery on 'em to prevent being consistently punished by an instant-air teleport into bread 'n butter combo. Maybe it seemed harder to do 'cause of online, but I don't know...

Also doesn't help I tend to be a little slow punishing certain moves of hers due to being unfamiliar with the match-up (and thus sometimes getting a little stressed out), despite knowing what to do in certain cases.

I was going to write that Boxer and Akuma aren't that bad for Dhalsim, but Renta kinda beat me to the punch. Both Ultra's are good against Balrog in one way or another so it might as well be a preference thing to some extent, but Shangri-la is a must against Akuma in my opinion.

You do have to be careful against Balrogs who know the match-up, however.

I've been playing a little with a friend who just picked up the game. I go all around the character roster when I play him, but one character I commonly use is Makoto. I had a lot of fun using her. Maybe it's because he doesn't know how to block or avoid command throws, but I still had a lot of fun. I practiced some combos and am surprised how easily I can do HP, HP Hayate offline, but can't ever do it online. I also got into seeing how her mixup game can work with cr LK, LP Hayate, Oroshi, and Karakusa once you get in close. Plus, st. MP is so awesome. I have a problem a lot of times with Chun not timing my normals correctly and having them get stuffed. I never seem to have this problem with Makoto. I think I may give her more of a shot. She is a departure from what I'm used to, but I know that's a good thing. (Cue Hito)

Poor Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. No one will ever understand you. Only 2 people sitting in there compared to the dozens in 3rd Strike. :(

I just had an awesome time stop battle, Dio vs Jotaro. :D
