How is a "hit and run" style Vega any different from a "flowchart" Ken or a "turtle" Guile?
Cuz let me tell you, each of those playstyles I just mentioned are JUST as annoying as what you described. Does that make Guile and Ken dumb too? Just because some players play them in certain (annoying) ways?

Mmm they aren't as annoying to me. I find those much easier to handle as Abel than Vega's claw pokes, and yeows. Plus trying to mix him up on his wake up seems to never work out for me. Trying to chase him down when he keeps doing that back flip is a pain too and saves him from a lot of crap on wake up that I could do.

Plain and simple I just don't like Vega. I respect Az Greg for being a good player, but again I could care 2 craps less about Vega himself. It goes further than just how people opt to play him, but as a character overall.

I would say a bad Vega is like a bad Blanka - they'll both rely on one move - Wall dive and blanka ball. Once you know how to deal with either of those, these fools have nothing and can be taken down in seconds.

Now a good Vega can be scary, and beautiful! :lol

I get like that too though. And a lot of it has to do with how my brain works maybe. Sometimes, I devote my entire thinking/anticipating with my ground game that I can't AA for shit. I am amazed at seeing Daigo play perfect footsies and at the same time AAing every single jump in with perfectly timed DP w/out trading. I don't think my brain is capable of function doing both at the same time,ugh.

Really, train so you know this shit by heart. Then you can counter on react without having to think about it, because "thinking" about it will bottle-neck it to such a degree that you won't be able to react. If you have to think about how you're going to anti-air every time someone does something, you're likely to do everything too late.

Does anyone know if custom soundtracks via TVersity or any media server program cause lag while playing online? Getting a bit tired of not having a true selectable soundtrack so thinking about making my own.

Maybe it would be smarter to just get a USB drive specifically for that just in case.

I use my computer monitor most of the time and since my 360 and PC share the same speakers,I just boot up my mp3 player and get the same results without any lag

I know what you mean.When I occasionally play him I keep forgetting that you need a slight pause between your normal and your rekka input while almost every other character can just cancel normally.

The rule really makes little sense when you think about it to boot- it's like it was thrown in there just to make things harder. It just irks me from a design standpoint.

That said, has anyone thought that their abilities are just declining due to slower reflexes? I'm feeling like I can't react to things fast enough to compete at a decent level anymore.

Realized this at the last tourney I went to- I just can't react at all anymore. It's like I've grown too old for the quicker games, and even this.

I feel like a washed-up old bum who can't hit the fastball anymore.

Every day. I'll get hit by crap that I'm seriously wondering how, and it's because I didn't react to it pretty much at all. The sort of crap I used to hit people out of constantly and play at least a BIT more carefully, I just feel like a glass cannon, now. I'm honestly amazed I can even do any of the tougher trials, now.

As far "easily punishable" moves go Vega's back flip has GOTTA be in the top 10. The only times I ever use it is when:

A. Someone commits a move I can see coming from a mile away and I wanna put myself in a good position to punish.

or.

B. I'm in a corner getting wailed on and shitting myself because that's like one of the 3 whole options that I have to keep myself from getting raped (which quite often ends up badly for me anyway).

I love when they just spam wall dive. I focus absorb dash in and grab. Those vegas are hell free. One knock down they are screwed because they don't know how to block a cross up so it's just easy peesy.

I just tend to lose to the stupidest crap. Like just now a B+ Ryu did nothing other than jabs, neutral jumps, and throws. He completely beat me out doing that and I felt like my brain died or something.

A lot of times with Vega I just lose to blocking too much and then not option select tick throwing. I mean I'll input it but I get thrown either way. Most of the damage to me online from randoms comes from being thrown.

Because I'll have 3 out of 4 bars on one match and still have lag spikes but when I play Kaako and Kadey both with with no bars at all it plays just fine?
