Most of these changes are horrible. Except for the Hakan ones. I wouldn't be surprised if they make Rufus do more damage and be faster.
 
Why remove one of seth's most useful moves? It isn't like he was whored and didn't already have a substantial short comings, tier list be damned.

Booooo, buffs to weaker characters > nerfs to everyone.

Seriously if they're taking out that big of a threat, give me a strike out of hooligan. Or up dat damage back to where it was. Make it overhead if the height restriction is big.

Also, why they hate guile again?

Makes me worried to see what they'll do with Sagat (or what they won't with rufus akuma and rog). I feel like everyone's taking crazy pills.

I was LMAO watching Lamerboi try to play the "new" Guile on Xbox Live. Flash kick only to build meter no booms allowed! :lol He was doing a ton of putting on taking off shades too. :D

Really though I'll wait till the changes are finalized, but even I'm like WTF at no meter of booms. Reduced meter? Sure. No meter? Uuh...come on Capcom.

I'm glad Yang ended up legit again. If Rolento doesn't make it, Alex doesn't make it, and Q doesn't make it, then I'll pick up Yang. :)

I was just thinking about the changes reported, I think Ono is trying to make the game more offensive instead of lame.

Ryu and Akuma no longer able to run away from the corner. Guile forced to play up close without EX Booms. Seth can't spam that FP jumping away. Blanka is closer on blocked balls so the fight resets in footsie distance.

Doesn't make sense considering the Cammy, Honda, Gief, and Bison nerfs. Nope just weird nerfs all around!

This. I sincerely don't think the nerfs marathonfool mentioned are really bad or outrageous. It'll make those characters actually have to play some offense rather than have the exact same strategies from everyone that plays those characters. Guile not getting super meter for sonic booms doesn't make much sense. Cammy's nerf especially doesn't make any sense at all, though.

Good point. It'd take a lot of changes like this though to really pull a 180 with the game overall. Who is the most turtley character? Balrog? Whoever it is that's where those kinds of changes need to start.

Seth's jumping HP is 50% of his offense. He's almost nothing now. You have to semi-turtle with him, especially against T.Hawk and Zangief. At least make it neutral jump only. The guy dies in only a few hits and one of the few characters that is a hit or miss against randoms.

Everything else thus far seems fine with me. The less turtles, the better.

Cammy's nerf makes perfect sense because it goes against the normale execution of the move in air off the ground wich was rediculous

no other Street Fighter game had air specials being able to pull off at such fast frame as that wich made it ridiculous

I hope Dhalsim gets the same Cammy treatment for his Air-Teleport which is also retarded in SF4 and SSF4

These changes are temporary because it's just in its testing phase, right? They seem too drastic (hilarious) to actually be final phase changes. I mean, Sonic Boom not building meter? That's just ridiculous.

The EX Green Hand is probably just +3 on hit or something resulting in a potential mixup like Abel's step kick or Fei's chicken wing.

Cammy might not be as bad as people think. You can still EX TKCS. Blow up crouch tech with standing strong or crouching fierce. She just can't build meter like before spamming TKCS full screen.

Bison could be fine if they reduce the startup frames. It'll be like Chun Li's U1.

I don't know. SSF4 seems to have the ratio of those balanced quite nicely. And besides, that you have turtling as a possibility is the reason why I like this game more than, say, Tekken where it's in your face all the time.

Taking away a viable option to play a character is never good.

A friend of mine sent me an XBL message about Yun and Yang being confirmed, and I've see the Ono pics since last week or whatever, and for this guy to send me that message would mean that he saw something new since he doesn't find the little leaked news like hardcore SF fans would find, so I come straight here and read about the loketest impressions and...

Honda damage down sucks a fat one but I could hug Capcom for making his U2 HCB x 2 - hug them and have their babies - fuck yeah, the way it SHOULD have been from the beginning.

Did Guile kill their families or something? Unless they improved Flash Kick priority or his worthless U2, or even priority on U1, SB not building meter is a kick in the balls - how's he gonna get meter now?

Thank Capcom for getting some sense for adding armor break to EX Hayate, which AGAIN should have been in from the start - being able to focus every sort of Hayate is pure nonsense. Finally she doesn't need to move like a tank any more, so I don't have to dash into a random uppercut when I want to get close. I can't remember what 3rd Strike axe kicks were like. I hope her grab range was improved, it's the only thing missing now, well, that and a health boost.

I don't see the point of taking out j.HP for Seth, it was one of his useful moves, but it was never abused or anything.

I used Yang because so many friends used Yun, and all I really wanted was for his teleport dash to be in, and it is, so that means I'm going for him when this hits consoles.

Hakan news is ecstasy - so much goodness there, especially oil stacking - that in itself negates my wish to improve his grab range, so thank you for delivering Capcom - everything I could ever want has been done for Hakan!

Oh yeah, I hope they make Dee Jay's link to MP easier, and at least some way to combo into Ultra - I can do MGB into walking U2, but that's so risky that it isn't even viable to me.

Not talking about Seth, talking about turtling. Sure it's annoying, but there are ways around it. I'm mostly just mad about the Guile nerfs. SB's don't even feel like a viable option anymore.
 
Honda's damage nerf peeves me... the new motion for U2 doesn't phase me much because he is a character that still consider Ultra-less

Blanka's recovery could have been handled a different way.. they could have just made it like SF2 recovery.. but cutting the distant half the distance is giving too much reward for midget characters

I think that change in guile wasn't that good.

I would had prefer to him to go back to his Vanilla Sonic Boom recovery, but add the ability for the sonic boom to cross up on wake-up (think Blanca ball). It would be awesome as a wake up game against the opponent, yet you stay close for them to punish you or viceversa.

About Makoto, armor break on her Hayate makes perfect sense, yet why not add Armor to it too? Barlog can have both with no problem.

I would also love if Makoto Dash could go below fireballs, that would be fucking awesome. :D

I would have just preferred buffs to weaker characters, none of this extreme nerfing. Particularly I am really perplexed at those two big camy and guile changes. Just don't seem necessary.

No. There are circumstances for turtling. Health lead, zoning, regrouping after getting tagged, or against grapplers. There are some players who turtle no matter who they are using and playing against.

And that will continue no matter what nerfs/buffs are applied to characters. I hate that my Guile playing is being punished because there will always, without a doubt, be players who turtle for no need.

Height restriction better not be huge for Cannon Strike if that stays in (yuck).

Honestly, in spite of some the location test changes that piss me off royally and I hope don't make it into the final product, it's a bit relieving to see they are helping some of the characters that need it.

Hakan news is great, Makoto news is better than nothing. They should help out Gouken and others too.

It's just as important for a character to be fun to play against then fun to play as.

I was hoping for them to fix links, but Ono's big on that so I guess that stays.

Exactly my point. But at least with these nerfs, even though I don't even agree with half of them are essential to help preventing that.

I rely more on Guile's normals and regular specials so building meter isn't essential to my game. A fast recovering sonic boom is more than enough.

I never use air hurricane kicks to escape so that doesn't really bother me. Akuma still has his teleports and Ryu is a zoning and footsies specialist. Ken is the one that needs it more than they do despite being an offensive character himself.

EX banishing punch will now be another guessing game if it lands correctly or not but it doesn't affect much. Zangief just needs to get in obviously. This nerf will help against the scrubs that spam lariat after knockdowns though. Van may not like it however.
